About the role

As a supporter journeys executive, you'll support with the design and delivery of impactful and engaging experiences for our supporters, ensuring they feel valued, inspired, and connected to our cause. You'll use insight and data to develop and improve journeys which help to grow lifetime value and supporter loyalty. You’ll be a key member of the team in helping to promote supporter experience across the charity and championing best practice across all departments.

About you

We’re looking for a team player with previous experience of working in a supporter or customer service setting. Together with the supporter journeys manager you’ll manage supporter journey projects, often multiple at the same time. To do so, it’s essential to have an understanding of good project management. Using all the data and insight available to you, you also be able to evaluate the performance of campaigns, products, tasks and activities we work on.

As you work with teams across the charity, you’ll need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail, as well as a collaborative approach to help nurture relationships with different teams. Any experience you have of using a database and any email marketing platforms is desirable; alongside any knowledge you have of current data protection and compliance regulations.

While we expect some level of knowledge about supporter engagement, it is equally important that you show a willingness to learn and develop your skillset, whether it be new digital solutions or how we use data and insight to evaluate performance.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly organised and confident Supporter Care Administrator to ​provide an excellent supporter care service for the Fundraising Campaigns and Individual Giving team. 

You will be the primary contact point for our supporters, prospective supporters and the public, taking responsibility and ownership for each enquiry, providing answers to questions relating primarily to donations and fundraising activities. You will also support your manager in developing a new stewardship programme to welcome, engage and retain our supporters.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will be the first point of contact for prospective and existing supporters, helping with enquiries, taking donations, reassuring concerns and ensuring our supporters have a positive experience with every contact and interaction they have with our charity.

You will:

• Take full ownership, responding effectively to all enquiries, interactions and complaints received on our fundraising activities, by email, phone and letter. 
• Respond to supporters with empathy and compassion, applying our tone and voice and brand values
• Maintain supporter database records of enquiries received, ensuring that all data entered is administered accurately
• Work to meet agreed response times (SLAs) to enquires, ensuring supporters are satisfied
• Work with the Individual Giving Manager (Stewardship) on key stewardship activities and supporter journeys, to thank, welcome, engage and retain our supporters.
• Represent the team at cross-team meetings to ensure our supporter’s voice is heard, sharing feedback gathered through direct supporter interactions
• Keep up to date with technology, applying digital approaches, new solutions and identify improvements to become more effective in donation and contact processes.

About You

You will be a highly organised and confident individual, with experience in customer service or supporter care roles, with a passion to make a difference by engaging with and acknowledging supporters who choose to donate to or fundraise for our charity.

Department/Directorate Information

The Development and Communications Directorate is responsible for fundraising and philanthropic income across the ICR, maximising support from major donors, individuals, trusts, corporates, charity partners and events. We have a proud track record of performing at a consistently high-level, raising millions every year.​

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Corporate Manager and working closely alongside colleagues across the Philanthropy team, this role will drive forward MSF’s corporate new business activity. The role aligns with MSF’s strategic fundraising ambitions and will be crucial to securing increased income from new sources.

The Corporate Officer (New Business) will be responsible for proactively seeking and securing new funding from corporates at the £100k+ level with the ambition to secure sector-leading, transformational partnerships. This role is also responsible for day-to-day management and reporting on status of the new business pipeline and a project to maximise payroll giving.

Knowledge

Knowledge of legal requirements relevant legislation and good ethical practices in fundraising

Knowledge of philanthropy and fundraising best practice

Knowledge of corporate charitable giving trends in the UK

Experience

Proven experience of securing high value, high impact partnerships (£100k+), ideally across different types of partnerships such as CRM, strategic, COTY etc

Experience in building robust new business pipelines and managing these full cycle from prospect identification to converting opportunities, including regular progress reports

Experience of using databases and prospect research tools, including to analyse and interpret information

Experience of Philanthropic fundraising environment/team

Experience in the practical use of personal IT equipment and Microsoft Office 365 suite. The ability to effectively collaborate and communicate within a hybrid working environment utilising Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft

Skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to create tailored, compelling proposals and presentations

Strong analytical and research skills to identify prospects and demonstrate alignment between a prospect and MSF

Strong interpersonal skills, including negotiation and the ability to confidently build and nurture relationships with a wide range of stakeholders

To be successful in this role, you will bring proven experience in managing high-value relationships across corporate partnerships, major donors, trusts & foundations, and statutory bodies. You'll have a strong track record of securing and growing long-term partnerships, including successfully negotiating six or seven-figure sums with corporate partners and/or major donors. • Manage and develop the Rapid Response Network, retaining existing partnerships whilst also identifying and securing new partnerships.
