The organized movement of persons in need of international migration assistance is a primary mandate of the Organization and a cornerstone of IOM’s operations. About the role

We want to reach and support more people with heart and circulatory conditions, helping them feel informed, empowered, and understood.

As a Health Editor, you’ll play a key role in doing this, through creating and commissioning high-quality written, audio and video content to support people with heart conditions.

About you

Working arrangements 

This is a part time role working 21 hours per week as part of a job share. Ideally working days would include Tuesday as a cross-over day between the job share partners but flexibility around this can be discussed.

The salary range shown is the full time equivalent and will be pro rata for part time hours.

The Detention Outreach Caseworker is a full-time post on a 12-month renewable contract, joining a small team at the JRS UK offices in Wapping, working closely with the Detention Outreach Manager.

The JRS UK Detention Outreach project supports individuals who are detained in the Heathrow Immigration Removal Centres (Harmondsworth and Colnbrook). This busy and varied role focuses on combining accompaniment, practical support, and assistance to those in immigration detention, especially those who are most vulnerable and struggle to self-advocate. The Detention Outreach Caseworker will make referrals to solicitors and partner organisations where appropriate and liaise with Immigration Services, detention centre staff and others as needed.

The Detention Outreach Caseworker will occasionally support individuals who are released from, but continue to be affected by, immigration detention. Through relationships built across the NGO sector, they will refer individuals to local organisations who can most appropriately assist with reintegration into the community. They will provide in-depth and pro-active support to high-need individuals supported in detention who continue to require long-term accompaniment on release.

The Detention Outreach Caseworker will be responsible for managing their own caseload and work closely with the Detention Outreach Manager to identify themes and trends arising from immigration detention to contribute to the organisations wider strategic work. The post-holder should have a good understanding of and empathy with the issues and challenges faced by asylum-seekers and refugees, with particular focus on immigration detention. They will need highly developed listening skills, personal resilience and emotional maturity to respond to the emotional and practical needs of asylum seekers, accompanying them and supporting them to positively progress with their lives. They need to have and maintain an up-to-date knowledge about the immigration and asylum context as it relates to our work in immigration detention.

As a key part of delivering the vision set out in our National Lottery-funded RenewALL Hub proposal, you will ensure our food provision goes beyond meeting immediate needs to build inclusion, wellbeing, and pathways into wider community support.

Your primary responsibility will be to secure regular donations of surplus food by developing and maintaining strong partnerships with local supermarkets, shops, restaurants, and national redistribution organisations like the Newham Food Alliance, Felix Project, and Feeding Britain.

You will manage the effective use of this food across our services, including the foodbank, food pantry, warm meals programme, and cooking classes. This will involve careful stock management, menu planning, and coordinating with lead staff to ensure our food provision meets Newham’s environmental, health, and cultural needs. A key part of this will be overseeing the successful operation and promotion of our expanded food pantry.

Coordinating volunteers will be essential, particularly in managing and expanding our cargo bike fleet for surplus food collection and redistribution. You will also explore opportunities to monetise these sustainable transport services.  We’re on the lookout for a skilled communicator who’s passionate about creating content that serves and supports the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community.

As Senior Content Officer, you’ll craft clear, useful and engaging content that helps people make informed decisions about their treatment, feel more connected, and understand the impact of the research we fund.

You’ll also help bring the voices of the T1D community to the forefront by sharing stories, insights, and experiences across our digital channels. From day-to-day content planning to writing, editing, and publishing across web, email, social, and media, you’ll be central to how Breakthrough T1D informs, inspires, and grows its reach in the UK. 

Experience required 

• ​Excellent writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail and ability to tailor tone for different audiences. 

• Solid understanding of digital platforms, especially websites and social media. 

• Confident using a range of tools to create and publish multimedia content such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or content scheduling platforms 

• The ability to gather and tell personal stories in a sensitive, creative and engaging way. 

• Experience of working collaboratively with colleagues, partners, or lived-experience voices.

The Children’s Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with acquired brain injury, providing expert rehabilitation, education, therapy and care at our national specialist centre in Tadworth, and to children and their families across the UK, via our Community Rehabilitation Service. The team plays a pivotal role in generating and overseeing referrals for our frontline services whilst managing all children and young people placement-related activity. In this role, you’ll work closely with our Senior Business Development Marketing Manager to drive referral generating activity through both business development and marketing activity. This may include direct mail and advertising campaigns, both on and offline, through to organising and attending events, both those hosted by other organisations and our own. You’ll play an important role in supporting coordination of and delivery of this activity.

Role Requirements

To be successful in this role, you’ll demonstrate:

• An understanding of business development and marketing, ideally be in a services-oriented environment but this is not essential.
• Experience in implementing and managing multi-channel marketing campaigns – both on and offline, whether to consumers (B2C), professionals (B2B), or government departments/professionals (B2G).
• Ability to work well with others – both within the BD&C team and across other departments, including the central marketing and communications team who support implementation of our plans.
• Experience in coordinating multiple projects and tasks at one time.
• Strong administrative, computer and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work in a matrix environment, with resilience, determination and passion.
