Asylum Matters is looking for a dynamic campaigner committed to upholding the rights of people seeking asylum in Yorkshire & Humber and across the UK at a critical time. Asylum Matters plays a significant role in working towards positive change for refugees and people seeking asylum. We are a small team based around the UK, working locally and nationally with an extensive network of partners to advocate for progressive change in the asylum system. We work with frontline organisations and people with lived experience across the UK on a range of issues that affect people in the asylum system. We co-lead the award-winning Lift the Ban coalition campaign, that brings together almost 300 organisations calling for the right to work for people seeking asylum. The Yorkshire & Humber Campaigns Manager also lead our Lift the Ban campaign Nationally, working with our powerful coalition to raise our collective voices and call for working rights for people in the asylum system.

We are a facilitator of collaboration and joint action. Our work helps strengthen collective advocacy on asylum reform and ensures it is informed by the reality on the ground. We became an independent charity in 2021 and have ambitious plans for the future as we seek to maximise the potential of our collaborative campaigning model and identify opportunities for change at local, regional and national levels, in a challenging external environment.

The successful candidate will work in partnership with local organisations and networks in Yorkshire & Humber to develop and implement strategies for achieving change locally and nationally. They will have experience of developing and delivering impactful campaigns that have achieved change. They will be an effective communicator, able to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with partners. They will be proactive, able to spot influencing opportunities and quickly mobilise support to respond to them. They will have a commitment to the vision of a fairer and more effective asylum system, and to empowering and working with those with direct experience of it.

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our mission to connect schools with powerful, practical research. You’ll take a leading role in shaping how NFER communicates with educators, using your creativity and insight to bring our work to life across digital channels.

One day you might be crafting social media content that sparks conversation among teachers, the next, you’ll be writing an email newsletter that lands just right with a headteacher seeking evidence-based ideas. You’ll help turn research into engaging, accessible summaries, so schools can quickly grasp key insights and put them into action.

You’ll also update and improve our For Schools website pages, ensuring every word is useful and user-friendly. Behind the scenes, you’ll track performance using analytics, learning what works and what could work even better. And throughout it all, you’ll collaborate with researchers, designers, and communications experts to deliver thoughtful, impactful campaigns that schools actually want to read.

Role Responsibilities 

Strategy and planning

• Deliver the existing Community and Events strategy and maximise opportunities for income growth 

• Identify and develop new income generating opportunities across Community and Events Fundraising, devising new events and engagement opportunities

• Develop, implement and monitor against KPIs, annual plans, and income and expenditure budgets, ensuring targets are met with robust analysis and reporting 

Income growth, event and supporter management

• Proactively manage all aspects of Community & Events Fundraising to increase our supporter base and maximise income, supported by the Events and Community Officer

• Develop and deliver supporter journeys that raise average fundraising per head, decreases drop-outs and increases repeat entry

Fundraising events management

• Manage delivery of the event portfolio to achieve financial and sign-up targets, delivering effective on the-day support for event participants. This includes ensuring our events are accessible for visually impaired participants

• Deliver excellent supporter care to ensure supporters are motivated to achieve (and exceed) their fundraising targets, feel valued and build engagement with us 

• Key point of contact for high level event participants and community fundraisers via face-to-face meetings, phone calls and emails – providing timely and personalised support

• Support the Events and Community Officer with enquiries, applications and registrations for challenge events, ensuring high levels of conversion, and capturing relevant supporter data 

• Support the Head of Community and Engagement, or other teams within Fight for Sight with the successful delivery of key special events, including fundraising gala dinners or receptions, virtual events and mini conferences, and third party or established supporter events.

• When required, support the Events and Community Officer in managing guest lists, enquiries, and ticket sales for special/major donor events and receptions, delivering a seamless guest experience and timely follow-ups supporter care and relationship management

Marketing 

• Oversee all paid Facebook advertising activity for events, updating web listings, and utilising our networks

• Work with the Marketing & Communications team to raise awareness/increase recruitment across all activities, highlighting case studies and media stories 

• Develop and deliver effective and engaging content, and materials for supporters to increase recruitment, retention, and average fundraising amounts

• Oversee the creation and delivery of quarterly events e-newsletter, plus additional e-blasts

Managing information and reporting 

• Work with the Database Manger to ensure accurate records within our CRM system (ThankQ) and management of income from online and offline giving

• Carry out post-event evaluations, analysing supporter data help facilitate greater levels of income

About the role

As Digital Platform Executive you will:

• Drive user acquisition and retention strategies for our App (sidekick by Suicide&Co). 

• Collaborate with developers to implement new features based on user feedback and engagement metrics.

• Monitor performance and user analytics to inform continuous improvement.

• Develop and manage in-app communication strategies, including push notifications and updates, to enhance user engagement.

• Coordinate with content creators to ensure timely and relevant messaging within the App.

• Oversee the in-app customer support system, ensuring prompt and effective responses to user inquiries and issues.

• Implement feedback mechanisms to gather user insights and improve App functionality.

• Develop and implement strategies to optimise the use of our CRM system (HubSpot) for client, donor and stakeholder engagement.

• Ensure data integrity and security and provide training to staff on CRM functionalities on new processes or underutilised tools.

• Analyse CRM data to inform improvements to client experience and improve donor stewardship. 

• Maintain and update our website, ensuring content is current, accurate, and aligned with branding guidelines.

• Optimise website performance, user experience, and accessibility across devices.

• Implement SEO best practices to increase organic traffic and visibility.

• Launch and manage our Google Ads Grant account, creating and optimising campaigns to maximize reach and impact.

• Monitor ad performance, adjust strategies as needed, and ensure compliance with Google's grant policies.

I am currently recruiting an Interim Talent Acquisition Manager on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover) for an established not-for-profit organisation based in East London. The role will pay £48,563 per year and will start in early August 2025. This role will involve hybrid working with at least 1 day per week in the office and the remainder working from home.

Reporting to the Head of People and managing 2 Recruitment Coordinators and a Recruitment Administrator, the successful candidate will come from an in-house recruitment background and understand how to manage internal recruitment processes, with experience of advising hiring managers on recruitment campaigns for roles across various industries, such as fundraising, digital, finance, safeguarding, volunteer management, project management etc.

Experience in the Charity sector would be advantageous and you will have experience of managing and motivating a team. You will need to have an understanding of legislation and external developments and how they impact the work of the Recruitment team. As part of our new 2025-2028 strategy we are partnering with ClearScore, the leading financial marketplace platform, to launch a new year-long study to prove the positive impact of financial education on financial wellbeing. ClearScore users in the study will be delivered three different types of financial education, across videos, workshops and other content, and then monitored against a control group for any improvements to their financial capability, their credit score, wider creditworthiness and ultimately their financial resilience, wellbeing and potentially access to credit. The effectiveness of the interventions will be robustly and independently assessed by an external evaluation partner, currently being recruited.

This study (and the resulting research outputs) has the potential to be transformative in the sector, and is kindly funded by the AVIVA Foundation, the charitable organisation which aims to help people deal with financial challenges. This project forms part of a growing suite of projects at The Money Charity aiming to improve the UK’s financial education ecosystem, by reaching more adults with new, innovative forms of financial education interventions at key ‘teachable moments’ throughout their lives.

About The Role

We are looking for a project manager to take the day-to-day lead of The Money Charity x ClearScore Financial Education project. As well as management of the overall project, the role involves delivering on some specific intervention workstreams allocated to The Money Charity, and managing the relationship with the external evaluation partner conducting the study. Additionally, the post holder will be responsible for a small portfolio of other related projects focussed on building adult Financial Wellbeing.

This role would be ideal for a hands-on and engaging individual with a strong track record in delivering high-profile educational or customer-facing projects. A good knowledge of issues relating to money management, access to credit and personal finance is also important. The individual will need an ability to navigate the retail financial services landscape in the UK, as well as a good understanding of the not-for-profit sector. This is an exciting, varied role to lead this transformative project from an early stage through to completion, and provides a unique opportunity to impact on the Financial Wellbeing of individuals.

The creation of this role has been triggered by the launch of the ClearScore project and is therefore being offered as a fixed-term contract aligned to the funding being received for its delivery. However there is some scope for the project (and therefore contract) to be extended or become permanent. The Money Charity would also be open to exploring filling this role on a 18-month secondment basis e.g. from an individual working at a financial services organisation.

The Role

As part of a small team, the Events and Exhibitions Manager will support the Head of Venue and New Business Development with sales, planning and delivery of events and exhibitions for external venue hire clients as well as support Society colleagues with internal event planning.

Event support includes use of the computerised room bookings system, ability to set-up and operate basic audio-visual and IT equipment, event support and post-event administration including customer invoicing.

The Events and Exhibitions Manager will also work with colleagues in an extended team, including Facilities Manager, Front of House and Audio-Visual staff, plus contracted cleaners and commissionaires in providing a first-rate service primarily for these third- party events.

Charity People are thrilled to be recruiting for a large and prestigious organisation to help strategically drive their fundraising, particularly philanthropy. The is a critical role in the organisation to ensure that philanthropic income is implemented in line with donor expectations and ensuring any obligations are stipulated in gift and grant agreements. The Philanthropy Implementation Manager will play an active role in developing and delivering gift implementation improvement projects, acting as a pivotal person between fundraising and finance teams across the organisation. The role is key to ensure that fundraisers are securing gifts in line with departmental policies. The role will also have a particular focus on programme management, ensuring that gifts are advertised and implemented.

The successful postholder will quickly build strategic relationships with key internal stakeholders that will support the work of Fundraising and Supporter Development team, supporting fundraisers working in Major Gifts, whilst not directly involved in the work, you will be able to provide advice and guidance to staff working within these income streams, as well as work with the Business Support Officer to support the management of securing philanthropic gifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with fundraisers and colleagues in the Supporter Operations and Donor Relations teams, to ensure that philanthropic gifts are correctly implemented in line with the donor's expectations and the terms of their gift agreements.
• Work with key internal stakeholders to ensure the funding is used correctly and pledge payments are fulfilled.
• Design complex gift implementation strategies.
• Develop and monitor systems that ensure fundraiser compliance with policies and procedures relating to the implementation of donations. This will also include supporting the Philanthropy Team in monitoring gifts in stewardship, highlighting any gifts requiring re-solicitation.
• Use relationship management techniques to ensure that the relevant stakeholders are notified of any changes or delays to gift implementation. For example, capital builds, recruitment of key posts, progress in research projects.
• Support the Philanthropy Team and wider Directorate in managing business processes, developing processes, and review of key gift documentation, that will support future implementation of philanthropic donations.

You will bring:

• Ability to work independently and to prioritise work effectively and accurately within a regular schedule of tight deadlines
• Experience of designing and implementing new policies or procedures
• Experience of donation administration
• Ability to quickly build effective working relationships
