About the role

This role is accountable for playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of safe, high-quality safeguarding processes, procedures, reporting systems across Galop. It is also entrusted with reporting to the board, promoting a culture of safeguarding and learning from safeguarding incidents.

This is a high-impact and strategically significant position, ensuring the development and enhancement of safeguarding frameworks.

The post-holder will act as the organisation’s Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, with the Director of Services continuing to hold the Designated Safeguarding Lead role. The post-holder will also work closely with Heads of Service, service managers, senior leadership, trustees, and teams across the organisation to foster a culture in which safeguarding is deeply embedded and consistently prioritised.

This role holds the responsibility for delivering high quality operations, quality assuring and working on key cases

Due to the nature of the role, regular evening and weekend work may be required. Hybrid working is available, but it is anticipated that this role will be required to regularly work and attend meetings in the Galop building in central London.

About the role

Join Macmillan Cancer Support as a Senior External Affairs Adviser, where you will play a vital role in shaping and delivering impactful change propositions and external affairs strategies across the UK. Your work will focus on delivering at-scale change for people with cancer, particularly the most marginalised groups.

• Provide senior-level advice to develop external affairs strategies aligned with Macmillan’s mission.

Our client is a small, independent housing association providing general and supported housing for single homeless people across London. About the role
The Researcher is a new, important post at Arthritis UK. Working within our Health Intelligence team, you will lead on providing expertise on the latest relevant research evidence, providing a responsive, robust and balanced assessment of the available evidence and any key gaps to shape the charity's UK advocacy agenda, and drive organisational priorities. Working across a range of issues you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the experiences and needs of people living with arthritis are understood and acted upon, and that arthritis is taken seriously across the UK.

About you
If your knowledge, skills and experience include the following then we'd love to hear from you:

• In-depth knowledge and experience in working in health-related, research.
• Experience in the synthesis and evaluation of research evidence across a range of sources (including grey literature), including in the design and delivery of rapid reviews.

At ActionAid UK, storytelling sits at the heart of our work. We champion anti-racist, decolonial storytelling by collaborating with creatives rooted in the countries we feature and ensuring every story is told, with dignity, care and integrity. We believe storytelling is a tool to shift power, reframe narratives and challenge the inequalities that shape our world. In this specialist role within our Stories and Content Gathering Team, you’ll help shape bold, authentic content that showcases the work and impact of ActionAid’s partners worldwide, as well as the global movements for social justice and gender equality.

Day-to-day, you’ll nurture strong relationships with colleagues across the global majority and ensure every story reflects the lived realities of the communities we work with. You’ll support photography, video and story gathering commissions across Asia, Africa and Latin America, researching story leads, developing strong angles, liaising with teams worldwide and helping brief and contract photographers, videographers and journalists. You’ll move content through post-production; from translation and consent checks, to safeguarding reviews and story write ups, preparing everything for upload to our global content SharePoint. 

You’ll also help build a global network of freelance translators, editors and creative professionals, and curate strong existing stories and assets so they can be used across advocacy, fundraising, events, exhibitions and federation-wide communications. You may also support with training colleagues in best practice storytelling, contribute to internal and external meetings and help gather feedback to continually improve our processes.

When humanitarian emergencies strike, you will join the emergency communications team to help coordinate rapid content gathering. You’ll support with logistics, contracting in-country creatives, organising translation and ensuring testimonies and information are shaped into accurate, safe, timely content that reflects ActionAid’s feminist, anti-racist and decolonial principles.

We’re looking for someone with at least two years editorial, production or journalism experience, excellent research and writing skills, a sharp editorial eye and strong project management skills, as well as a commitment to telling stories with integrity, care and critical awareness.

We’re currently recruiting full time or part time School Counsellor/Art/Play Therapists to work directly with children and young people in our schools Mental Health Teams. For this post you need to have a mental health qualification and at least two years’ experience of working with young people. We are also looking for people with an open and flexible attitude; excellent engagement skills and a passion for working with children and young people around mental health. 

Responsibilities include offering a flexible range of short-term and longer-term mental health interventions to primary and secondary aged children and young people including individual and group-based support; workshops; crisis support; mental health themed activities. The posts have scope and opportunity for developing new initiatives and ways of working to support young people’s mental health across South London. 

All posts are based on-site (office/school) and may require flexibility to work across different service areas and interventions. Some evening and/or weekend work may be necessary to meet the needs of young people.

They provide confidential advice and support to members and their dependants experiencing financial or emotional difficulties, often when they have nowhere else to turn.

Due to an increase in grant applications for their winter essentials programme, they are seeking a Grants Administrator to join their Casework team on a temporary basis.

In this role, you will support members facing financial hardship by assessing grant applications against eligibility criteria (including receipt of various benefits) and managing your own caseload. You will also assist with reducing turnaround times and complete a range of administrative tasks.

About You:

• Experience in grant giving, advice, or information services
• Strong administrative and organisational skills
• Knowledge of benefits and eligibility criteria is desirable
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence using SharePoint

You will be required onsite (Kings Cross/Euston) five days per week during onboarding. After this, a hybrid working model may be considered if you are able to work independently.
