As our new Community Heat and Energy Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering our major new community heat and energy workstrand. You’ll work with local communities and expert research partners to move forward local renewable energy projects which help power clean heat solutions at three different sites in England, as well as developing ways to remove barriers to delivering this type of project, such as supplying energy locally and matching supply and demand.
- Contract: 16 months at 4.5 days per week (or a nine-day fortnight if preferred). We are not accepting applications for job shares for this role. While we would like to extend the contract beyond 16 months, as this is a grant-funded role, we cannot currently offer this.

Location: Some of the role will be site-specific. We are therefore open to candidates based anywhere in the UK, although some travel to project sites will be required, and there will be an occasional requirement to attend our Camden office, although you would be welcome to work there more often.

Working hours: 0.9 FTE, i.e. 4.5 days per week or a 9 day fortnight. Our core working days are Tuesday and Wednesdays, when all staff are required to work.

What is the overall purpose of the role?
At Youth Action Alliance, our mission is to support the personal and social development (their values, beliefs, ideas and skills) of the young people living in Kensington and Chelsea, enabling them to increase their resilience and skills in the present and promote their ambitions for the future.

To achieve this, we are seeking to appoint a Lead Worker for the Gypsy, Roma and Irish Traveller cohort to develop and deliver an innovative and progressive project in a safe, industrious, and supportive environment, working primarily with this community.
The project provides the following for Gypsy, Roma and Irish Traveller young people 11-19 years old including;
- A weekly girls’ workshop

Key Responsibilities
Programme Leadership & Delivery
- Plan and deliver an innovative, progressive programme of activities, developed in collaboration with young people and colleagues.

How are staff supported to work remotely?
VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.

About the Role
As Finance Manager, you will play a key role in managing financial processes and ensuring smooth operations. You will:
- Manage the accounts receivable function ensuring that invoices are raised in a timely manner, receipts are recorded on the accounting system and in liaison with the relevant managers ensure that outstanding balances are followed up on a regular and frequent basis
- Manage the accounts payable function ensuring that invoices are paid in a timely manner and supporting line managers with coding and uploading via HubDoc as necessary. Monitor entries in HubDoc (the application used to upload invoices to Xero – the accounting system used) to ensure any failed or unpublished invoices are followed up and accurately processed
- Bank and other Balance Sheet account reconciliations

- Liaise with the Development team and provide weekly breakdowns of grants and donations received to ensure that income can be properly recorded on the donor database
- Monitor and reconcile credit card and petty cash payments ensuring that all financial controls are adhered to

About You
We are looking for a proactive and organised individual who can work both independently and collaboratively. You will bring:
- Have a solid understanding and experience of core accounting functions, financial management and bookkeeping – ideally in the charity or not for profit sector – including managing both accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Have good Excel skills and demonstrable experience of using accounting systems (we currently use Xero)
- Have excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, accuracy and attention to detail
- Have a good understanding of the management of restricted and unrestricted funds in charities
- Possess good communication skills and the ability to work with both finance and non-finance colleagues
- Have experience of preparing schedules and documents for external audit
- Thrive in a small team and are happy to work collaboratively as well as alone on a wide range of finance tasks

We are looking to appoint a new SEND Consultant to our central team of subject specialists. We want to hear from experienced teachers who have gained experience in a middle leadership role, and who have a track record of raising achievement within a department. We are looking for an experienced teacher with a deep passion for SEND. The post would suit an ambitious middle leader looking either to broaden their expertise and responsibilities, or who may be considering a future leadership pathway to their first headship. Although based at the Harris Federation offices close to East Croydon Station (with fast access to central London and the M25), the role will mostly be located within the academies.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The post work suit an ambitious middle leaders with at least three years' SEND teaching experience and two years in a management role such as SENDCo or Co-SENDCo. A thorough understanding of the needs of students with SEND and Quality First Teaching is essential.

The Veterans’ Foundation’s purpose is to improve the lives of all within the armed forces community who are in need. They do this by raising funds which they award to organisations having a real impact on those currently serving, veterans and their families. Military charities undertaking life-changing work need vital funds to support and sustain their work with beneficiaries.
One of the UK’s fastest-growing military charities, the Veterans’ Foundation was established in 2016 to support serving and former members of the armed forces, operationally qualified seafarers, and their families who are in need. Since its launch, the Foundation has awarded over £30 million in grants to nearly 500 charities and organisations delivering more than 1,000 life-changing projects across the UK. Grants range from a few hundred pounds to £200,000 and support a wide range of needs, including mental health, homelessness, poverty and social isolation. The charity is primarily funded by the Veterans’ Lottery, the UK’s largest single-charity lottery.
We are looking for x1 permanent full time (35 hours per week) and x1 0.5 FTE (17.5 hours per week) FTC (18 months) Grants Assessment Officers to join the Grants Team at the Veterans' Foundation. The Grants Assessment Officer plays a vital role in the assessment of grant requests and will maximise the impact and effectiveness of the Foundation’s funding by ensuring we are supporting projects and activities which are closely aligned to our strategic priorities.
The key focus of the role is the assessment of applications across our existing Grant Programmes, reviewing grant monitoring and providing appropriate levels of support to grant holders during the period of funding.
The post holder will help ensure our grant application processes run efficiently and effectively, carrying out thorough desk and UK-wide field-based assessment of applications made to the foundation. They will be a key point of contact for external enquiries to the Grants Team.
LOCATION: Home-based (hybrid), ideally based in the Midlands, to provide reach across the UK for assessment/project visits to monitor grant progress.
Key responsibilities:
- Undertake full and thorough assessment of funding requests, carrying out both in person and online meetings and tasks to ensure that detailed recommendations are written-up and presented for consideration within agreed lead times as defined within the schedule of Decision Meetings
- Work closely with the Grants Support Officer, helping to ensure that payments to current grant holders are released on a timely basis and within the context of agreed protocols and procedures
- Carry out monitoring reviews and visits of funded projects based on reporting provided by Grant Holders
- Assist with broader provision of information and guidance at the point of application and through attendance at funding/networking events
- Manage relationships with our Grant holders including working with them to resolve any issues raised during the period of funding
- Maintain relationships with our Grant Holders and stakeholders, to support them in resolving issues raised during the period of funding
- Contribute to the Grant Team’s ongoing efforts to innovate and improve processes which increase access and engagement for applicants and grant holders
- Provide support for Decision Meetings including preparation of Salesforce reports for decision meetings where grant applications are reviewed
- Assist in any other duties required for the efficient running of the Veterans’ Foundation Grants Programme.
Qualifications/Experience
- Knowledge of the Veterans’ Foundation, the UK funding landscape and current challenges faced by our grant holders and the wider voluntary sector
- Understanding of voluntary sector legal structures (constituted groups, charities and CICs) and their good governance
- Good knowledge of ‘Outcomes’ and ‘Indicators / Activities’ and their role in both demonstrating and considering the impact of projects
- Understanding of the impact charities are seeking to make and an ability to respond creatively to risks and opportunities they face
- Experience in presenting and/or group facilitation both in person and online

The role
The Commonwealth Sustainable Cities Coalition (CSCC) is a transformative, multi-level, multi-sector coalition designed to address the intersecting challenges of rapid urbanisation and climate change across the Commonwealth. The CSCC is a collaboration between the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), the Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA), the Commonwealth Association of Planners (CAP), the Commonwealth Engineers’ Council (CEC), and the Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF), working with The King’s Foundation (KF).
The CSCC Programme Manager will set up and oversee the CSCC Secretariat function, coordinate governance structures, and, in collaboration with the ACU Senior Policy and Networks Manager, lead the delivery of a cross-cutting skills agenda through the ACU’s newly launched Expert Group model. The role will also support CSCC partners in establishing three transdisciplinary Action Groups - focused on housing, integrated planning, and urban finance - and support delivery of three National Dialogues in selected Commonwealth countries.
