This is a new role working across Battersea’s Income Generation department, in particular, Philanthropy, Partnerships and Commercial (PP&C). This new role will provide effective EA support to the Head of PP&C, and to the Senior Corporate & Commercial Manager and the Senior Philanthropy & Trusts Manager). This role will manage external and internal communication to and from the Head of PP&C and the senior managers. We have an exciting job opening in our Grants team at ClientEarth! The Grants Officer will work in the Grants Team as part of the wider Development Department, to manage a portfolio of grants that fund our organisation’s work.

ClientEarth’s Development Department is responsible for raising and managing funds to enable the organisation to deliver its mission – using the power of the law to bring about systemic change that protects the earth for – and with – its inhabitants. Meet your Manager

In this role, you will be managed by Lydia Baker. Lydia joined ClientEarth in August 2024 and in her role as a Grants Manager is responsible for managing relationships with key funders. Lydia has worked in the NGO sector for over eight years and has expertise in a variety of functions including grant management, programme management, communications and monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning.  On a day-to-day basis you will work closely with Lydia as part of an established Grants Team that sits within the Development Department at ClientEarth.

Main Duties

• Funding portfolio management - Have a close and in-depth knowledge of their grants portfolio, including a sound understanding of the philanthropic, institutional and statutory funding mix;
• Internal and external communications - Meet with Trust, Foundation and Institution portfolio managers to discuss proposals, provide updates on the programmatic work, and to formally report back on financial, organisational and technical issues; 
• Project management - Effectively manage reporting and the grant renewal process from start to completion including working with multiple teams across ClientEarth’s European and international offices to ensure input from all avenues to complete proposals and reports in a timely and high-quality manner; and 
• Financial planning and budget handling - Work with Finance and Programmes staff to develop individual budgets for funding proposals
• Systems and processes - Maintain funder database systems (Raiser’s Edge) and other organisational databases (SharePoint) on a daily basis

About this job

It is a very exciting time to join the MS Society as Evidence Programme Lead. We are implementing an ambitious cross-organisational transformation programme. And we have just started a new 2025-29 strategy.

We’re looking for a person with strong social research skills who has the ability to lead our Evidence team. We’re looking for someone who can work collaboratively across the organisation to ensure we’re developing our evidence base to inform our work.

The salary for this position will be between £48,000.00 - £58,000.00 per annum depending on experience. This is a full-time post at 36 hours per week and will be offered on a permanent basis. About the role

• Be a key point of contact for receiving and processing referrals to the Providence Row, Resource Centre.
• Complete assessments of those referred to the Centre
• Make statutory and non-statutory housing referrals dependant on the persons need and eligibility.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, including outreach teams, health services, City of London Police and other support organisations.
• Work within the Team Around Me model, engaging closely with the City Outreach Teams and the Navigator service to develop and implement joint action plans for people rough sleeping.
• Connect City clients with essential health services to address tri-morbidity—the complex combination of physical ill health, mental health, and substance use that often affects individuals experiencing chronic homelessness.
• Facilitate referrals to training, employability, and volunteering programs to support long-term stability and independence.

The opportunity

As Learning Design and Assessment Manager you will play a key role in developing curriculum and content for our online courses, drawing on your experience and knowledge of teaching and learning to provide a coherent learning experience, ensuring that all content is of a very high quality and informed by the latest research and evidence. You will also support our accreditation function, designing assessments and supporting internal assessment and moderation processes. 

There will be some flexibility in the role, meaning that we can tailor the work you will be involved with to suit your skillset. Working closely with colleagues in our Professional Learning and Accreditation Team, we expect that the Learning Design and Assessment Manager will:

• develop the curriculum and write and commission course content and materials for teachers and school leaders
• design training materials and, where relevant, directly deliver training and CPD to teachers and school leaders
• engage with education research to ensure the content and delivery of courses is informed by the best available evidence of effective practice
• design and develop assessments to support teacher certification and accreditation
• assess and moderate submissions; contribute to the ongoing development of robust assessment policies and processes
• develop assessment training and guidance for assessors, teachers, schools and delivery partners, as appropriate
• work with schools and organisations to support ongoing engagement in courses and programmes
• develop and implement robust content and delivery plans, overseeing projects and course development activity to ensure that courses are delivered on time, within budget and fulfil project requirements

The organisation

ImpactEd Group supports education and purpose-driven organisations to maximise and realise their potential. A growing and skilled team of over 30 people, we help our partners to be consistently impactful and sustainable through a combination of specialist support and use of digital tools.

This project would support our Evaluation Practice. The evaluation team works with over 1,500 schools and organisations, analysing the impact of programmes and interventions to help them do more of what works and less of what doesn’t for young people. As well as tailored consultancy and support for our partners, we support schools and organisations to collect and evaluate educational data through an in-house digital tool (our “School Impact Platform”) – which this project would support.

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced data engineer to help transform our data infrastructure to better manage our growing dataset of over 14 billion records and create more efficient analytics capabilities. This is a hands-on technical role that will involve both strategic advisory work and practical implementation.

Initially a fixed-term project of around 3-4 months, working to the project outcomes, there may be opportunities for longer-term advisory and technical support following completion if this is of interest.

We are happy for you to work flexibly although would expect the majority of your time to be committed to this project. We expect the work to be conducted predominantly remotely, with a few key meetings in person at our London offices, though you are welcome to use our office space throughout. We anticipate the project being outside of IR35.

What will you do?

Our School Impact Platform brings together existing data from schools (for example, on student demographics and attendance at school) and other forms of data (for example, surveys on student wellbeing and motivation) to help school leaders and educational organisations better understand the impact of their educational choices and programmes.

Part of this involves processing significant data from schools, and we are looking at options for how this could be handled more effectively and be more easily extracted for analysis.

We currently have 14 billion records in a PostgreSQL table, which we believe could be stored more cost effectively and allow for faster data retrieval by using new or alternative data stores. We would also like to develop data pipelines to take data from Postgres to serve analytics use cases, either in new Postgres tables or potentially in a data warehouse or similar.

We would like someone to help identify the best solutions for both areas, assuming our assumptions are correct, and lead the majority of the implementation. You would work closely with our in-house software development team and an existing consultant with experience in data analytics.
