The Catholic Diocese of Northampton covers the traditional counties of Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, together with the town of Slough, a Unitary Authority within Berkshire.

The Diocese is involved in many different areas of life. Not just in parishes, but also in schools, hospitals, prisons and religious communities; working with people with disabilities, and with the young and the old; promoting the value of family and of marriage; caring for the poor, the homeless and those who live at the margins of society.

With its southern edge resting on the Thames and its northern tip in the East Midlands, it is by no means the smallest English diocese. There are 69 principal parishes with another 26 "satellite churches", chapels of ease, and a few more Mass centres in private schools and other institutions. They are served by 48 active diocesan priests, assisted by 12 active priests from other dioceses and 18 from religious orders.

The diocese has 29 schools at primary/infant/junior level, 6 secondary schools, one 4-19 VA through-school, one private primary school, a private prep school, and one private girls’ boarding through-school. Between them they educate some 20,700 pupils.

The diocese is a registered charity, The Northampton Roman Catholic Diocesan Trust, and is also a registered company. There is one active trading subsidiary, RCDN Property Services Ltd, which provides project management for school projects. There are separate Trustees' Property, Investment and Health and Safety Committees.

The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) will provide strategic leadership and oversight of all financial operations across the Diocese. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the CFO will ensure financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and effective stewardship of the Diocese’s resources in support of its mission to advance the Roman Catholic faith, and the role is pivotal in safeguarding and enhancing the Diocese’s Mission and the supporting physical estate for current and future generations.

About The East End Community Foundation (EECF)

EECF supports communities through our charitable activities of grants and programmes.  In 2024/25 these totalled over £1.6m and we intend to increase our grant making year on year to provide greater and longer-term support so we can continue to make a difference to the lives of local people by supporting vital community-based projects with grant funding. We are looking for a committed individual with knowledge of the local area to join the Grants and Programmes Team. Working as part of our small and busy team you will ensure that EECF delivers an accessible and credible grants service by providing advice, guidance and support to potential grant applicants, assessing applications for funding, and monitoring and evaluating the impact of our grant making.

About You

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience of grant making or applying for funding, and of working in and for the charitable sector, and/or starting out in a career in grant making. We need someone who is a confident communicator and team player. You should be highly efficient with the ability to work across multiple strands to strict deadlines, demonstrate strong organisational skills and build positive relationships with local community organisations. 

The Role

Position: Grants Officer

Responsible to: Head of Grants and Programmes

Hours: 35 hours per week (full-time)

Annual Leave: 23 days (increasing incrementally to 30), plus public holidays

Key Responsibilities: 

· Assist the team in developing, managing, delivering and promoting EECF’s grants programmes.

· Provide information, advice and guidance to grant applicants

· Complete the assessment of grant applications including making phone calls/visits, and completing due diligence checks

· Manage a caseload of grantees including building relationships with grantees, liaising and agreeing outcomes for funded projects, preparing and issuing grant contracts, working with groups through the delivery of their projects to final reporting

· Ensure all information including grant applications are accurately recorded in a timely fashion on the database system Salesforce

· Conduct regular outreach and participate in networking events and awareness raising sessions aimed at potential grant applicants or recipients

· Review end of grant reports and collate information to provide annual reports on grant programmes 

· Contribute to the maintenance and development of grant making systems, policies and procedures including guidance notes, application forms and reporting structures

· Keep abreast of good practice in grant making and new initiatives being implemented by other local grant makers and community foundations

· Undertake such other tasks as may be required to meet the needs of the post as they arise and to ensure the smooth running of EECF’s grant making programmes and charitable activities 

Person Specification:  

Essential Experience/Skills  

· Knowledge and/or experience of delivering a grant making programme or of fundraising

· Understanding of the voluntary sector and community needs in the East End of London

· Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately to strict deadlines

About the role This is an exciting time to join CPRE Hertfordshire as we look to initiate our work across the county protecting and restoring the county’s hedgerows. You will be the lead in this ambition to plant over 2km of hedgerow in Hertfordshire.

It is a big project funded by a CPRE corporate sponsor, but the Hedgerow Heroes Project Officer (HHPO) will have excellent allies and advice every step of the way.

Knowledge and experience in conservation would be an advantage, but the main attributes which this person will bring to the role will be top quality organisation and communication skills.

CPRE Hertfordshire will be working alongside another environmental group who will offer guidance and support on choosing hedgerow plants for planting. This role requires working with volunteers to support with hedgerow planting.

The person in this role will be expected to reach out to bring all the networks and ambition together for the hedgerow planting experience.

Good communication will be key at every stage – with the partners, the participants, the landowners and the funder.

Key responsibilities include:

Communications and Project Management

• Develop a database of volunteers, partnerships and stakeholders to recruit for the planting of 2km of hedgerows.

• Develop criteria for planting locations for the hedgerows and engage landowners in identifying / agreeing sections of hedgerow for planting.

• Use these criteria to develop a best practice guide for hedge planting and after-care, to support landowners, community groups and others in maintaining their newly planted hedgerows.

• Communicate with wider supporters/stakeholders such as schools, colleges, parish councils and community groups with an invitation to plant hedgerows.

• Contribute to the production of a detailed publicity programme aimed at publicising the Hedgerow Heroes project, recruiting support, securing additional plants, acknowledging partners and the funder.

• Provide a monthly report for partners, the funder, trustees and colleagues.

• Attend regular project meetings with our National Office (online).

Planning and Delivery

• Timetable and map the days where hedgerows will be planted and/or restored.

• Keep to the project budget and record expenditure.

• Secure the equipment from the project budget.

• Ensure plants, equipment materials (i.e. stakes and binders) and risk assessments are all in place for each day.

• Liaise directly with the various parties involved in this project, including professional hedgerow planting trainers instructing courses, volunteers, landowners, community groups and other relevant organisations.

• Oversee and attend each planting day.

Refuge is recruitment for a Senior Policy and Research Officer to join it's successful Policy and Public Affairs Team.

The Senior Policy and Research Officer will be responsible for conducting qualitative and quantitative research on issues affecting survivors of domestic abuse and propose robust, evidence-based policy recommendations as well as analysing policy developments and producing briefings, reports, and consultation responses to influence public policy. The successful candidate will bring excellent policy analysis, data analysis and research skills as well as strong communication and project management skills.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with survivors of domestic abuse to shape Refuge's policy programme to drive system change to end Violence Against Women and Girls.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly organised, detail-oriented Operations Officer to play a central role in ensuring the smooth running of Animal Equality UK’s internal operations and supporter services.

This is a varied role covering administration, finance, data management, supporter care, and event coordination. You will be the first point of contact for many of our supporters and stakeholders, providing excellent service while supporting team members across all departments.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable balancing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. You will have a ‘can-do’ attitude and a calm and professional demeanour, thrive on problem-solving, and take pride in ensuring that systems and processes run efficiently behind the scenes.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Culture and internal support: Act as a culture ambassador, upholding Animal Equality’s values of professionalism, resilience, accountability, and compassion. Strengthen communication between teams and ensure effective use of project management tools. Identify and lead process improvements with guidance from the Operations Manager.
• Supporter and donor care: Serve as the first point of contact for supporter queries via phone, email, post, and social media. Provide excellent donor support, including thanking donors, resolving payment issues, and sending mailings. Maintain supporter and volunteer records accurately in CRM systems and ensure compliance with GDPR.
• Finance and reporting: Process expenses, supplier payments, and support budget forecasting. Assist with Gift Aid claims, monthly data uploads, and finance reports. Prepare scheduled reports and presentations to track progress against objectives.
• Team processes: Support recruitment processes, including application handling, interview coordination, and onboarding/offboarding schedules. Ensure smooth induction for new staff and manage equipment, training resources, and access.
• Events and operations: Assist with the organisation of internal training, team meet-ups, and supporter events. Support health and safety measures for team members and volunteers at peaceful protests, undertaking risk assessments and first aid training. Manage stock and campaign materials, fulfil supporter requests, and oversee mailing logistics.
• Data and systems: Conduct database cleansing and maintain accurate supporter, volunteer, and executive records.
• Represent Animal Equality’s culture: Support Animal Equality’s life-saving work by producing high-quality output, embracing and representing the organisation’s culture principles proudly at all times, and supporting our philanthropic efforts.
• Support with other ad hoc duties, as requested by your line manager.

The Catholic Diocese of Northampton covers the traditional counties of Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, together with the town of Slough, a Unitary Authority within Berkshire.

The diocese is a registered charity, The Northampton Roman Catholic Diocesan Trust, and is also a registered company. The Chief Operating Officer will be the Honorary Secretary to that corporation. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will provide strategic and operational leadership across the Diocese, with a particular focus on the effective management of property, land, and other physical assets. The COO will ensure that Diocesan operations support the mission of the Church, are financially sustainable, and are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements. This is an exciting and varied role that encompasses all aspects of our fundraising activity and will support the development of relationships with our individual donors, Trusts and Foundations, Corporate Partners, and Community/Faith Groups. Key Responsibilities

• Support the development of our individual giving programme including the planning and delivery of fundraising appeals and campaigns.

• Lead the development of our use of Donorfy to record and report on our fundraising data, and manage donor relationships.
• Support the planning and delivery of key fundraising events including our annual Gala fundraising event.
• Conduct periodic and ad hoc prospect research on previous and prospective funders and identify new funding opportunities under the supervision of the Trusts and Foundations Grants lead.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to conduct advanced statistical modelling as part of a major research project at RoSPA, funded by the Lloyd’s Register Foundation whose World Risk Poll dataset will be analysed in this work. The project will assess the links between socioeconomic inequalities and workplace harms on a global scale. You will be central to designing, conducting and writing up this ground-breaking research project with the support of the wider policy team. An ability to conduct regression analyses on large datasets, work independently, design research programmes and manage your time effectively will be crucial for this role. 

This would be an ideal role for recent master’s or PhD graduates or someone completing a research degree, though we welcome candidates from all backgrounds.

Key responsibilities:

• To use advanced statistical skills (including regression analysis) and other research and writing skills to support the delivery on time and to the required standard of a report on global inequalities and workplace safety for the Lloyd’s Register Foundation Grant ‘How does inequality shape the risk of unintentional injury at work?’.
