The Big House is looking for an energised Finance and Operations Director to lead the charity's finance, HR, operations and legal functions. This role is suited to a strategic thinker who is happy to get stuck in with hands-on tasks. The role covers five key areas.

Financial adminstration: Magage end-to-end financial processes including invoicing, bank reconcilations, budget management

Strategic business and financial planning: Work with the CEO to design and deliver an organisational strategy backed up by robust financial planning

Fundraising: Support the fundraising team to track pipeline value and secured income against targets and provide accurate reports to funders

HR and business operations: Oversee the HR function of the charity, foster a positive work environment and design and deliver effective hiring, onboarding and performance review processes

Production managment: Oversee the management of The Big House theatre and film productions, carefully managing external delivery teams and ensuring projects run to agreen timelines and to budget

The events team is responsible for the end-to-end development and delivery of a full programme of paid for in-person and virtual events (such as our Annual Conference, and Annual Leadership and Workforce Summit) and for delivering a large portion of the free events that take place across The Fund; including online events, roundtables, workshops, receptions and dinners. The events team ensures that there is a co-ordinated and uniform approach to delivering virtual or in-person events, and that each is delivered to the same high standard.

This role will give you an exciting opportunity to work in our busy events team within a well-respected health think-tank and charity. You will work with colleagues on planning and delivering a mixture of pay-to-attend conferences (virtual and in-person), roundtable discussions, dinners, and free online events. You will also manage the content design and delivery of our joint-badged events with our sponsors, Corporate Partners and Supporters.

You will lead on several events in the schedule; developing content in line with colleagues across The King’s Fund and more widely in-line with our new strategy. You will be responsible (with the rest of the events team) in ensuring they are insightful, run smoothly, keep to strict budgets, are delivered to a very high standard, meet the expectations of colleagues and delegates, and enhance our reputation and public profile. You will also play a key role in shaping the future of our portfolio of in-person, virtual and hybrid events.

To join us, you’ll need a degree (or equivalent) and experience in planning and delivering virtual and in person conferences and other smaller events. With this background, you’ll know how to research and develop event content to create engaging programmes and attract wide audiences. You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to lead effective logistics arrangements in preparation for and on the day of events. We’ll expect you to work hard to support the team and you will be given responsibility for your own areas of work. You’ll also need to be flexible, diligent, and comfortable being the main point of contact for many people from sponsors to speakers.

About the role
We are recruiting for a Legacy Partnerships Officer to join on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week on a fixed term contract for 9 months. This is a home-based role, though you will need to be based in the Midlands, North East or North West of England, or Northern Ireland AND be willing to travel across that area for events as required.

As the Legacy Partnerships Officer (North) you will represent Alzheimer’s Society, raise our profile, and promote legacy giving to our Will writing partners and legal professionals to secure future income for the charity. You will work collaboratively across the organisation at all levels to maximise our Will writing partnerships.

You will be responsible for the targeted acquisition of new Will writing partners in your region, whilst delivering a seamless onboarding and retention journey for the professional audience, through outstanding relationship management.

About you
Joining us, you will have good customer service skills with experience in a sales, marketing or business to business partnerships. You’ll also be able to network, particularly in a business partnership setting, and build rapport within a one-to-one relationship with a customer or business, discussing technical issues and combining persuasiveness with trust building.

Crucially, you’ll have a track record of exceeding targets and using your initiative to prioritise your work effectively. You’ll be a good communicator, able to speak publicly and communicate effectively with a wide range of people.

- Delivering an effective stewardship and retention programme of support for all Will writing partners by phone, email or via in-person meetings in an agreed time frame.
- Continually monitoring and evaluating the performance of our Will writing partners and making recommendations for future development by offering bespoke relationship management through face to face and virtual meetings and training.
- Maintaining accurate partner database records in compliance with Society policy and data protection laws.
- Planning, delivering and hosting acquisition and retention events for solicitors, including post event follow up stewardship activity.
- Meeting agreed annual targets through Will writing promotion which will support future Legacy income generation.
- Contributing to the continued development and project management of our Will offers. 
-  Working in collaboration with our Legacy Marketing Team and wider Regional Legacy Team to ensure that our Will offer messaging is supporter led, consistent and on brand.

This is an exciting opportunity to steer Asylum Aid at an important time in its 30-year existence. As Executive Director you will be responsible for delivering on our strategy for impact. You will oversee our work to increase access to expert, trauma-informed legal representation to those in the asylum, trafficking and statelessness systems and lead our policy and strategic legal work to achieve systemic change that contributes towards our vision.

You will line manage the Director of Legal Casework to oversee the provision of supportive and enabling leadership to Asylum Aid caseworkers so that they can continue to deliver high quality expert advice in complex cases, while being supported in their professional development and wellbeing. You will also manage and develop the work of our welfare advice team within the Westminster Advice Services Partnership and beyond, and work collaboratively with colleagues in the sector to build capacity and increase our impact. 

The ideal candidate, who may be legally qualified, will have experience of leadership in the charity/NGO sector and a sound understanding of the asylum, human rights and trafficking processes in the UK and the legal frameworks which govern the protection of refugees, survivors of trafficking and stateless people, and of the role of law in achieving system change.

We are looking for someone who is strategically minded and passionate about providing supportive and inclusive leadership to our expert team. You will be committed to our objectives and to the role which expert legal representation plays in enabling people in need of protection in the UK to obtain it.

As is the nature of this sector, the role may be exposed to a high volume of traumatic and distressing material and, whilst they will be supported by the Helen Bamber Foundation Group CEO and surrounding team, the candidate should also be able to demonstrate knowledge of good self-care principles in an intense work environment and dissemination of those principles to junior members of the team.

We are seeking a values-driven Director of Finance and Resources to join our Senior Leadership Team at a pivotal moment for the charity.

We are looking for a creative communications professional with an interest in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), or vice versa. You will help embed more consistent, robust 

approaches to evidence, learning and communications across the organisation, with the aim of improving service quality and better demonstrating our impact to our community, partners and funders. 

This is a 12-month fixed-term role, with the primary goal of strengthening our communications and supporting our MEL processes across the organisation. There may be potential to extend the contract, depending on organisational needs and funding. 

You will be well supported by the Head of Programmes and Impact and work closely with Programme Managers to support the collection of impact data in meaningful ways — not just to meet funder requirements, but to inform learning and improve delivery. Sands is seeking to appoint a Finance Officer.  The successful candidate will possess excellent relationship-management and technical skills to take full ownership of key financial operations such as accounts payables / receivables and ensure the smooth and effective running of our finance function.

In this key and customer-facing role, the post-holder will need to be able to use accounts packages e.g. Sage L50 to a high standard and have a good knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.

A positive and pro-active attitude is essential, along with strong organisational skills plus the ability to prioritise and multi-task. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are essential as the post-holder will frequently deal with external and internal customers at all levels.

We are looking for an ambitious, experienced and passionate Chief Financial & Operations Officer (CFOO) to join The Lifescape Project, leading the evolution, management and delivery of our financial and operational capacities as the organisation grows.

Our impact as a charity depends on excellent financial management and the efficient provision of supporting operational structures, policies and ways of working. As the organisation grows and diversifies, we need a dedicated Chief Financial and Operations Officer to lead the management and development of these critical functions in close liaison with the CEO. The CFOO will be second in command to the CEO and a key member of the Management Team.

We are a small and quickly growing UK-registered charity whose mission is to protect and restore wild, natural landscapes. We use the skills and expertise of our multi-disciplinary team (spanning science, law, economics, technology and culture) to develop projects that pursue this mission.

We use the approach of combining disciplines to design and deliver our work because the biodiversity crisis is driven and impacted by social, economic, legal and other complex factors. It is increasingly recognised that the urgent transformative change needed for a sustainable future on our planet is most effectively achieved through this approach. The Lifescape Project has a unique ability to apply these diverse areas of expertise to our mission whilst maintaining the agility of a smaller organisation in delivering our work.

Working in pursuit of our 2020-2026 strategy, the Lifescape Project has seen rapid growth in its impact, team and revenue since commencing work in 2020. Our annual revenue has increased from £265,000 in FY 2020/2021 to £1.2m in FY 2024/2025, with further growth expected in the current FY. Our team has grown from just one to a team which will number 20 at the time of the successful CFOO candidate joining. This growth to date and planned future growth requires constant evolution of our financial and operational infrastructure and an experienced hand to guide this process, which is the core purpose of the CFOO role we are seeking to appoint.

We are excited to be hiring for this role, which will be transformational for the organisation, allowing us to develop our approach to financial and operational matters and support the continued growth of our team and impact. The role will act as second in command and will deputise for the CEO when absent. We are therefore looking for a highly capable and experienced finance and operations leader with the vision to ensure that we continue to grow in a sustainable, effective and efficient way.

We currently have a full-time manager and officer in our Finance and Operations team (F&O Team), which the CFOO will be joining to oversee, develop and guide all relevant functions. With the small size of the team at this time, the CFOO will be expected to jump into the detail in some areas. In the short term this will include delivering some of the more complex areas of the F&O team’s work, such as the audit process, multi-year financial planning and legal compliance, with support from other team members and external advisers as appropriate. If we continue to succeed in delivering our growth strategy, the role will progress over the medium term with increasing team size/supervisory duties and reducing involvement in immediate implementation. Remuneration would also increase in line with growth and assuming strong performance in the role.

As a Counter Fraud Officer, you’ll be at the heart of protecting the Fund’s integrity and ensuring that funding reaches the communities that need it most. You’ll conduct fraud investigations, respond efficiently to queries from internal and external customers, and help shape the future of our approach to fraud prevention and detection.

Your Responsibilities:

• Delivering internal and external investigation services for the Fund.
• Advising teams across the organisation on fraud, bribery, and corruption risks.

What does a typical day look like?

• Morning: You’re assessing a potential fraud referral, reviewing the case details, and using your expertise to decide the best course of action to safeguard public money.
   
• Midday: You’re responding to some new queries from funding officers and members of the public, providing clear, accurate advice to help resolve issues quickly.
   
•  Afternoon: You’re attending a meeting with colleagues from funding and compliance teams, sharing insights from a recent investigation you led on and contributing to a conversation about how we can strengthen fraud prevention and detection efforts.
   
• End of day: You’re making sure all your cases are up to date and accurate, while planning your next steps for ongoing investigations.
