About the role

The Development Officer will be responsible for delivering Family Forums within HMP Lindholme and HMP Moorland, supporting the Development Manager with Professionals Forums and training, and engaging with families and partner agencies in the community. This role plays a vital part in improving the lives of people impacted by imprisonment by fostering engagement and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Organise and deliver monthly Family Forums within each prison.
• Engage families and ensure their voices are heard.
• Monitor and track progress from Family Forums.
• Build relationships with prison departments and community agencies.
• Support logistics for Professionals Forums and other events.
• Recruit and manage volunteers with a person-centred approach.

SANE is a UK-wide mental health charity working to improve the quality of life of anyone affected by mental illness. It aims to raise awareness and understanding of all mental health conditions; fight to improve frontline mental health services for individuals and carers; provide support, information and guidance through SANEline, our Call Back service, email and text support; and promote and host research into causes, treatments and therapies through its Prince of Wales International Centre for SANE research.

About the Role

We are looking for people interested in providing compassionate support to people affected by mental health problems. This includes supporting people with severe mental illness, and carers, families and friends. You will provide support by telephone, email and text, as well as supporting our skilled volunteers through their development and weekly shifts.

This role also provides valuable practical experience in providing emotional support to vulnerable people.

We are seeking a new Finance and Administration Officer following the retirement of a long-serving team member. A key member of the SLA central office team, the Finance and Administration Officer plays a vital role in ensuring smooth financial operations and providing essential administrative support for our membership. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, book-keeping and effective day-to-day financial operations, producing financial reports using our CRM (IMIS) and XERO, in addition to administration support.

You will be experienced in financial and administration operations of a charity or similar , with an AAT qualification or matching worked experience. Familiarity with XERO will be an advantage. You will be able to bring understanding of cashflow and financial analysis of figure, working with accountants as required.

You will also have excellent customer service skills and be able to work effectively with all stakeholders from our members, to funders to suppliers. You will be determined and have an excellent eye for financial and administrative detail. Your duties will include general administration and:

Financial operations and record-keeping

• Manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate records of all SLA accounts and petty cash; book-keeping
• Process and record all incoming payments, including foreign cheques (into bank account)
• Monitor cashflow and expenditure, keeping track of spending
• Pay invoices upon approval and ensure timely monthly payments (e.g. pensions, HMRC)
• Handle creditor and supplier communications and resolve related issues
• Monitor and follow up on overdue payments with a focus on membership payments

Invoicing and income tracking

• Issue and track membership and subscriber invoices and reminders
• Keep office team informed of payment statuses
• Prepare sales, cost, and profit reports for SLA publications
• Conduct annual publications stock take

Payroll and reporting

• Liaise with the accountant on salary payments; process salary BACS payments
• Support year-end financial reporting by providing necessary documentation to accountants

Kempton Steam Museum, operated by Kempton Great Engines Trust, is home to the world’s largest operational triple-expansion steam engine, which supplied water to much of London until 1980. Our project, Kempton: Clean Water for Life – reaching a wider audience, is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we aim to transform Kempton Steam Museum’s engagement with visitors and the local community, while enhancing support for volunteers and care of collections.

The part-time Curatorial Officer will be responsible for the museum’s curatorial activities, with a specific focus on achieving the required collection management standards for Museum Accreditation with the Arts Council by August 2026. This will include developing curatorial policies following Spectrum guidelines. There will also be opportunities to develop interpretive materials to enhance visitor understanding and appreciation of the triple expansion engines and our collections, to foster relationships with local communities and to provide training and support to volunteers on collections management and interpretation. The Programme Officer is a newly created role to respond to the needs of the new strategy. You will have an analytical approach with data reporting experience, and strong organisational skills and proficient in utilising Microsoft suite including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. You will be able to think critically to innovate, and problem solve and be able to work independently and collaboratively, both in the office and remotely.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of youth employability and social mobility in the UK, experience of communicating and presenting to stakeholders in the corporate sector, familiarity with CRM or impact measurement tools and experience with corporate volunteering.

The role is hybrid so you will be based from home for part of the week but you will be happy and committed to travel to DHL UK Foundation offices 2-3 times a week in either Staines, London or Milton Keynes, either by car or by public transport. Travel expenses are covered but you will need to live in reasonable commutable distance to one of these locations (ideally Staines or London). Access to a car, whilst not essential, would be helpful for you for this role.

This role will include working closely with the District Secretary and other members of the District Lay Employment Committee to develop policies and ensure these are implemented across the District.

Responsibilitied will include:

Recruitment and Induction

• As part of the District Lay Employment Committee, leading on providing support to employing bodies with the preparation of job descriptions, adverts, contracts, and interview processes.
• Supporting employing bodies with the implementation of Safer Recruitment procedures.
• Maintaining dialogue with employers to seek to ensure that required training, probationary periods and other standard procedures are implemented for new employees and line managers.

Advice and Guidance

• Give consistent advice to local churches, Circuits and the District on the full range of employment matters including recruitment, selection, induction, line management, discipline, grievance and redundancy.
• Deal with queries from lay employees regarding contracts, and associated human resources issues, rules, and regulations.
• In consultation with employing bodies, prepare and process associated paperwork for all changes in status of their employees (including recruitment, redundancy, changes in working hours etc) consistent with immigration (Right to Work), Connexional and District policies.  
• Identify the training needs of the District pertaining to HR and communicate these to the relevant parties.
• Develop and lead on training for line managers in collaboration with members of the District Lay Employment Committee.

Administration

• Maintain copies of relevant employment documents on behalf of employers.
• Arrange prior approval for all contracts, recruitments and redundancies from the District Policy Committee in accordance with Methodist Standing Order 438 A 
• With District Administrators, ensure that information regarding lay employees and line managers is maintained.

Policy and Oversight

• Support the District’s Lay Employment Advisor in their duties as described in Methodist Constitution Practice & Discipline
• Process documentation and prepare reports relating to HR activities (grievances, performance reviews, contracts of employment etc.) within the District.
• Ensure that advisory information produced by the District remains relevant, accessible and meets current regulatory frameworks.
• With the District Secretary, monitor and develop district employment policies.
• Develop an awareness of Methodist Safeguarding practices, undergo relevant Methodist Safeguarding training, and understand how this applies to the context.

The Missional Youth Church Network (MYCN) was established out of a desire to see churches grow their ministry to young people and equip, develop and encourage them to be leaders in mission. The bold and exciting vision of the Network is to pioneer and establish missional youth churches, enabling 11-18 year olds to build community and discover faith in Christ.

This role is for a Diocesan Partnership Development Officer, for MYCN within Church Army UK. It has come out of a desire to see dioceses and churches grow their ministry to young people, especially reaching unchurched young people in schools and local communities.

As Development Officer, you’ll be a catalyst for developing partnerships with dioceses across the Church of England with the purpose of enabling new and existing missional youth projects to flourish. Working under the direction and guidance of the Team Leader and the steering group, you will work as a close-knit team to expand the Network, utilising the different specialist gifts and experience of each member.

We’re looking for a Science Communications Officer (Fixed term) to join our team

Salary: £35,000

Base: Central Edinburgh/hybrid

Hours: Full time and fixed term for one year.  35 hours a week over core working hours of 10am - 3pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. The office is open 8am – 7pm daily and our hybrid working policy requires all full-time employees to work at least two days a week in the Edinburgh office.

This involves collaborating across the charity to ensure content is accurate and audience appropriate. You’ll also be interacting with everyone in the organisation to help them understand how cancer behaves and how our research is helping to find new cures.

Hertfordshire Mind Network deliver essential mental health support in Hertfordshire, providing a diverse range of services from our seven Wellbeing Centres and other venues across all ten districts of the county. Funded locally, our services are available to all residents in Hertfordshire over the age of 18 and we offer dedicated services for 5–18-year-olds.

Reporting into the Sizewell C Community Fund Project Manager, the Sizewell C Community Fund Grants Officer will work as part of the Foundation’s grants team which ensures the effective and efficient delivery of the Foundation’s grantmaking through established funding programmes.

You will work specifically to oversee the management of grants within the overall programme. You will be the primary contact to advise, and support applicant organisations, support the distribution of the Fund to voluntary and community organisations across East Suffolk and monitor the use and impact of the grant awards.

You will proactively work in the heart of local communities, understanding what provision and resources are available, building relationships and exploring potential new ideas for grant funding opportunities, including project delivery and capital projects.

You will deal with fund enquiries, undertake application assessments and due diligence checks ensuring that supporting documentation is provided and compliant, and prepare panel papers.

You will also contribute to capturing the impact of the Sizewell C Community Fund, visiting funded projects to monitor progress of their projects, supporting where necessary and capturing feedback.

This is an important role within our team, ensuring that Sizewell C Community Funding reaches East Suffolk communities and organisations supporting those most impacted by Sizewell C.
