We are looking for an Executive Support Manager to provide high-level assistance to the Chief Executive and oversee the smooth running of our governance and leadership operations. This is a key role that combines strategic project support with the management of the senior leadership office. You'll lead on special projects commissioned by the Chief Executive, including strategic and operational planning support, coordinating research projects, and will be responsible for the administration of the Board of Trustees and its committees. You'll also coordinate diaries and workflows for the senior leadership team and student officers, ensuring the Students' Union's leadership remains effective and aligned.

To be a contender, you'll need proven experience in operational delivery, taking responsibility for tasks from an initial brief through to completion. You'll also have the ability to manage complex, competing priorities and high-volume diaries, exercising appropriate judgement. You should have experience servicing boards or senior committees, or of writing papers and reports for discussion and decision by others.

A big part of our work is about helping our student staff, student representatives and volunteers to develop; all our career staff are required to support this.

About Chapter One 

Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. We work in thirteen areas/regions of the UK and will support over 4,000 children in 2026-27.

Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme pairs struggling five to seven-year old (Y1-3) readers with reading support volunteers who are working professionals. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability. 

From a school perspective, online reading volunteers provide direct, meaningful literacy support for up to 10 pupils per class. The programme is particularly suitable for communities where it might be challenging to find parents and other volunteers who can commit to physically visiting schools to boost reading. About the Role

Chapter One is seeking a London Programme Manager who is an excellent communicator and is able both to motivate and support schools and teachers to implement our online reading volunteers programme, and also to ensure that the programme’s impact and benefit to disadvantaged communities is maximised throughout the academic year. 

The post is ideal for someone looking for full-time, flexible, term-time only work from a home base and who is able to travel frequently in and around North London. The postholder will be joining a team of established Programme Managers who work in different parts of the UK and will need to have some flexibility to work some additional hours during busy autumn weeks, and conversely to work fewer hours during quieter periods of the year.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Effectively explain Chapter One’s online reading volunteer programme and its benefits to school leaders and teachers.

• Install, setup and maintain Chapter One equipment in participating classrooms.

• Organise and conduct initial teacher training and follow-up.

• Ensure a smooth initial launch of Chapter One’s programme in every classroom.

• Fully understand the operation of the Chapter One platform and database and effectively communicate this to others as needed.

• Liaise with colleagues performing technical and volunteer support roles.

• Through regular visits to/contact with schools, provide on-going embedded professional learning and support to teachers throughout the year as needed.  

• Proactively monitor classroom adherence/fidelity to the Chapter One model, including systematic review of data reports and volunteer feedback, taking proactive action to resolve problems that arise.

• Analyse and manipulate data (largely in Google sheets) to produce reports and identify trends.

• Create regular data summaries for all participating classrooms.

• Lead annual review meetings for senior leadership at participating schools.

• Support programme monitoring, evaluation and research as required.

• Coordinate in person and virtual school ‘visits’ of volunteer teams to classrooms where necessary. This may include opportunities for Chapter One children to visit the office of the volunteers.

• Liaison with corporate partners as required.

• Weekly communication and status updates with Senior Programme Manager(s) and wider team.

• As a new school year approaches, secure commitments from returning schools and help find and target new schools to join Chapter One’s programme. 

We are looking for applicants with the following essential qualities:

• Highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. 

• Proven track record of working at a senior level in education, project management or a related field. 

• Proven strength in both written and verbal communication. 

• Highly IT literate, with excellent computer skills, able to troubleshoot software and technical  hardware issues, adept with Google suite and Microsoft Teams.

• Ability to manipulate and analyse data to draw useful conclusions to improve programme delivery.

The role is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Volunteer Support function including overseeing the day-to-day administration of key volunteer processes. The postholder will also line manage the Volunteer Support Officers who act as the first point of contact to volunteers in assisting with these processes and wider administration.

 About the role

The purpose of the Volunteer Support & Systems Manager is to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Volunteer Support function by ensuring that automated workflows are well maintained and continuously improved. This includes the onboarding process for new volunteers, management of mandatory training requirements of existing volunteers and volunteer record management through processing promotions transfers and leavers. Introduction

This is an exciting opportunity to join RSPB Cymru and lead delivery of the Caletwr Catchment Integrated Natural Resources Scheme (INRS), funded by the Welsh Government, in Conwy, North Wales.

Working closely with a cluster of farmers and a wide range of strategic partners, the project will demonstrate how sustainable farming and food production can deliver significant benefits for nature and natural resources. About the role

As INRS Project Manager, you will provide overall leadership, coordination and delivery of the Caletwr Catchment Project. You will establish robust governance, manage budgets and resources, and ensure delivery remains focused on agreed priorities and outcomes.

Strong partnership working is essential. You will work closely with the farmer cluster and key partners including Natural Resources Wales, Eryri National Park Authority, The National Trust and other advisory bodies.

You will provide strategic direction and day-to-day support to the Farm Support Specialist and project team, ensuring effective delivery of joined-up advice and coordination to achieve landscape-scale objectives such as Curlew recovery. 1.Running a Service
The Borough Service Manager is responsible for ensuring that the running of a service is done in line with Build on Belief mission to offer a place where clients users and volunteers can get on-going peer support from others with similar experiences through a range of activities, in line with Build on Belief Core Values and abiding by the Policies and Procedures of Build on Belief and the Build on Belief Standards of Practice and Operational Guidelines (hereafter referred to as SOPOG).
2. Staff Management
The Borough Service Manager will be responsible for a small team and will be in charge of ensuring that their Service Support Workers, Team Leaders, Facilitators and Volunteers work within the Policies and Procedures applicable to them and the SOPOG.
They will be responsible for the supervision of their Service Support Workers and the Team Leaders. The remaining volunteers will be supervised by Build on Belief Service Support Workers.
The Borough Service Manager will be accountable for ensuring their Service Support Workers complete accurate timesheets, comply with the Annual Leave policy, report absence, and keep accurate financial records and petty cash and supervise volunteers in accordance with the SOPOG.
The Borough Service Manager will support the Service Support Workers in ensuring that all required reporting and paperwork is submitted on time and to acceptable levels of competency.
3. Finance
The Borough Service Manager is responsible for all financial accounting and reporting related to the day to day running of their service in accordance with the SOPOG.
The Borough Service Manager will be accountable for all petty cash activities in the service centre ensuring the following:
• All financial matter relating to petty cash and vouchers are undertaken in line with the guidelines set down in the SOPOG.
• For the reporting of all financial matters to the Chief Operating Officer within the timelines set down in the SOPOG.
• For accurate and immediate reporting of any financial irregularities to the Chief Operating Officer within 24 hours of them coming to notice.
4. Training

5. BoB Policies and Procedures
As per their contract of employment, Borough Service Managers are responsible for abiding by all Build on Belief Policies and Procedures and to make sure Service Support Workers and Volunteers also comply with the policies that are applicable to them. This includes the Standards of Practice and Operating Guidelines.
In addition to compliance with the Serious Incident Policy, all Team Leaders and Service Support Workers are responsible for reporting all incidents occurring in their service as detailed below. The Borough Service Manager is accountable for ensuring the guidelines below are adhered to without exception.
6. Incident Reporting
The Borough Service Manager will be responsible for ensuring Incident Reporting is done within both the guidelines and timelines set out in the SOPOG.
•All incidents, including those that may be considered minor, persistent, and abusive language being and example, will be reported in writing within 24 hours of their occurrence.
•Incidents that take place on-line or through other digital activity will also be reported in writing within 24 hours.
•Incidents will be recorded on the Build on Belief incident report form and sent to the Chief Executive. They will be password protected.
•It is expected that the Chief Executive will be notified by telephone of serious incidents on the day of their occurrence. When the Chief Executive is unavailable, through sickness or annual leave, it is expected that the incident will be reported by telephone to the Head of Services.
•Where applicable, incidents will be uploaded onto Datix within 24 hours of their occurrence.
•Any incident that results in an individual being excluded from a service, however short a period, will be considered an incident and must be reported in writing within 24 hours of its occurrence. It should be noted; there are no exceptions to the above.
7. Relationship Management
The Borough Service Manager will be accountable to work in partnership with the service providers ensuring an effective and constructive relationship with them as well as engagement with the local community, in compliance with the SOPOG rules and the Code of Conduct making sure all issues and incidents are reported to the Chief Executive.
8. General
•To promote and represent the BoB Social Club to service users and service professionals in the Borough, ensuring access to any service user who might benefit from the project.
•To ensure the services provided by the Social Club are run in a safe, supportive, and non-discriminatory fashion in line with Build on Belief Core Values and abiding by the Policies and Procedures of Build on Belief and the Build on Belief Standards of Practice and Operational Guidelines.
•To ensure the Social Club meets the needs of the service user community in the Borough, and to carry out development work to the service when necessary.

About the role

At the RSPCA Finchley Branch, we are seeking a practical and organised Branch Manager to support the delivery and development of our local animal welfare services and the oversight of our retail operations through the line management of Shop Managers.

This is a strategic role with a hands-on focus on operational delivery, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations across animal welfare, retail operations through the line management of Shop Managers and volunteer activity. Alongside this, you will oversee day-to-day branch operations, including managing a small team of staff and volunteers, overseeing the performance of the branch’s retail activity through the line management of Shop Managers to contribute to sustainable income.

Working with the Chair and the relevant Trustee portfolio lead, including the Treasurer, to ensure financial oversight, governance and compliance and to deliver the agreed objectives, and working with veterinary partners, staff and volunteers, other RSPCA branches as well as other charities, you will ensure that services are delivered consistently, responsibly and in line with the branch’s priorities.

You will be comfortable working in a role that combines strategic and operational responsibilities, and able to organise your workload effectively. You will have experience of coordinating services or operations and managing both staff and volunteers, achieving results through effective line management, and bring a genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to achieving positive outcomes through well-organised and consistent delivery. You will also have a calm and practical approach, with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, volunteers and the local community, and a strong commitment to delivering meaningful and lasting outcomes for animals.

Additional information

Regular travel across the branch area and beyond is required, and occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary.

We’re working with a purpose-driven London-based organisation seeking an experienced Operations & Facilities professional to provide short-term cover during a period of transition.

This is a hands-on interim role focused on keeping a busy site running safely, smoothly, and efficiently. You’ll play a key role in maintaining day-to-day operations, with particular responsibility for facilities, health & safety, and contractor coordination.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the safe and compliant running of a busy site
• Acting as the main point of contact for facilities and service providers
• Managing contractors and responding to maintenance issues and incidents
• Supporting health & safety processes, training, and compliance
• Coordinating new starter setup (including equipment and systems access)
• Working within existing systems and processes to maintain continuity
• Supporting general operational activity as needed

About you:

• You have strong, practical health & safety experience (e.g. IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent)
• You’re confident managing facilities, contractors, and day-to-day site issues
• You’re a hands-on, proactive problem-solver who can hit the ground running
• You’re comfortable working on-site full-time in a fast-paced environment
• You have experience across operations, facilities, or workplace management
