Key Responsibilities
- Manage the purchase ledger, including coding invoices, maintaining records for capital projects,and running payments
- Reconcile bank accounts, control accounts, and digital payment systems to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare and submit Gift Aid claims and grant applications.
- Process payroll information prior to submission to payroll bureau and ensure timely payment to staff.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and circulate reports to department heads.
- Post journals, accruals, and prepayments during month-end routines.
- Reconcile intercompany transfers and company charge card transactions.
- Assist with quarterly VAT submissions.
- Assist with the preparation of annual statutory accounts.
- Assist with the provision of information to support the annual external audit.
- Perform year-end routines in Sage, maintaining the integrity and efficiency of financial records.
- Load budgets and support the development of tailored reports for internal use.
- Work with the Cathedral’s digital working group to improve financial reporting processes.

Job Specification
Essential
- Qualified or part-qualified AAT (or equivalent)

Working Hours

About the role
Reporting in to the Partnership & Strategy Lead, the Contracts and Portfolio Manager for the East & Southern Africa region provides strategic oversight and management of Christian Aid’s restricted funding portfolio across the Multi-Country Cluster (MCC).
The post-holder will ensure effective delivery, compliance, and reporting for donor-funded programmes while contributing to Christian Aid’s organisational values and goals, and plays a key role in building relationships with donors, ensuring contract compliance, and supporting programme teams and partners in delivering high-quality programmes aligned with organisational values and goals, while fostering a mindset of connection and enhancing collaboration.
The role is critical for ensuring that each programme achieves an integrated total economy approach, with all work (donor funded or not) fitting into the programme focus and partnerships driven new model.
Some of the main responsibilities of the Contracts and Portfolio Manager include:
- Lead the management and oversight of restricted programme delivery across the MCC aligning with organisational values and goals, while ensuring complementarity with unrestricted initiatives.
- Provide management oversight for effective contract management and compliance for all donor contracts within the MCC restricted income portfolio, to ensure maximum impact.

- Work closely with MEAL colleagues to ensure donor reporting obligations are met across the MCC contract portfolio, ensuring consistency of delivery and alignment with decolonised MEAL approaches.

Job Description
Purpose:

PURPOSE
The Fundraising Database Manager will support the Development team by overseeing and managing fundraising data analytics and reporting management, data systems, and related processes, to ensure alignment with the WHO Foundation’s strategic goals and data driven decision making. Our data analytics and reporting framework is at a foundational stage and requires development from the ground up, including the implementation of meaningful reporting and insights—making this role critical to its success.
REPORTS TO
The Fundraising Database Manager will report to the Head of Development Operations at the WHO Foundation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Management:

Administer and maintain the integrity of the data inputted into WHO Foundation’s CRM (Salesforce) and ensure fundraising data records are accurate and up-to-date.

Work closely with the Operations PMO office and the IT manager, which oversees the overall consistency of the information systems architecture to ensure that Salesforce functionality meet the Foundation’s fundraising needs,

Ensure that Salesforce is utilised effectively to fully meet the Foundation’s needs, as well as identifying areas for further process development.

Demonstrate the ability to clean, format, and import data into Salesforce, using input obtained from team members across the Foundation in a timely and efficient manner.

Liaise with the Operations PMO lead and external consultants and suppliers to support integrations with other fundraising platforms or other services when required.

Reporting and Insights:

Work closely with the Legal function to ensure accurate donor research records and due diligence are properly conducted and recorded.

Conduct quality checks to ensure the Foundation maintains accurate electronic records within the CRM of all gifts made to the Foundation, including the storage of important documents such as gift agreements and due diligence reports (liaising with the Legal team), which pertain to the Foundation’s relationship with our supporters and stakeholders.

Work with the Ops teams to manage an effective system for tracking overdue/outstanding pledge instalments and payments for the Foundation to be followed up.

Bachelor's degree in any academic field.

Minimum of 7+ years of relevant professional experience in a Database Management role within a fundraising organization.

About the Role
As a Recruitment Manager, you’ll drive our process for finding and selecting the founders of the new organizations we launch. This is a highly impactful role, for two key reasons:

The number of organizations we launch is currently limited by the number of exceptional founders we can find. Your ability to find and select an additional outstanding founder will likely result in an additional incredible organisation launching. For every Lucia Coulter & Jack Rafferty we find, we can launch another organisation like LEEP, preventing more than 44 million children suffering lead poisoning.

The biggest predictor of charity success we have is the strength of the co-founding team. If you can refine our recruitment process to reliably attract and select higher-potential founders, the organizations we launch will help more humans and animals at scale.
Our Recruitment team operates across two distinct, though overlapping, areas of work:

Outreach - attracting high-potential entrepreneurs to apply

Vetting - selecting the very best founders out of the applicant pool
We operate as a tight-knit team of four who work flexibly across the two domains. We anticipate a new hire doing both Outreach and Vetting work, with some possibility to specialise more in one direction or the other based on experience and preference.
At AIM, we prize the ability of staff to work with speed, autonomy, and flexibility. We don’t expect you to have prior experience in recruitment. We do expect you to be a fast learner and excited about taking on whatever work is most essential on a given day.
More concretely, you’ll split your time between the following:

Outreach: Designing and executing campaigns to reach promising applicants; writing newsletters, social media posts, and outreach copy; attending conferences and events; and working closely with our communications team to build partnerships and grow our applicant pipeline.

Vetting: Running multi-stage application processes, reviewing written applications and test tasks, conducting interviews, and refining our selection methods.
The role could be more junior or more senior, depending on the successful candidate: A more experienced hire will take more of a lead on designing the strategy they will execute, while a more junior hire will focus more on contributing to and learning strategic planning for the tasks they will execute at first.
Specific Responsibilities

Executing Marketing & Communications Activities [40%]

Designing and implementing multi-channel marketing campaigns across digital, traditional, and in-person channels (such as our website, newsletter, LinkedIn, job boards, and conferences)

Identifying and persuading top talent to apply for our programs through one-to-one engagement, such as through LinkedIn, email, and online calls
-
Soliciting and collating referrals for potential top applicants to our programs, especially from members of our community and affiliated organisations
-
Writing blog posts, newsletters, articles, and other copy in a clear, accurate, and convincing tone
-
Attending conferences and other professional events to represent AIM, conducting talks, workshops, and 1-on-1 meetings
Executing our Candidate Selection Process [40%]

Evaluating hundreds of application forms and test tasks to figure out which are the most promising, using a wide range of formal and informal indicators, heuristics, and other information

Conducting and grading candidate interviews to help identify and select the most promising candidates to join our programs

Project management for each application round to ensure each candidate receives accurate and timely information on decisions, next steps, and other details of the application process

Automating aspects of the process to increase scalability and reduce staff time
Evaluation and Systems Improvement [20%]

Collating and refining data on the cost-effectiveness of different communication methods for finding high-quality applicants to our programs

Analyzing historical data to pull out findings to improve our selection rubrics for future rounds

Testing potential new communication avenues, such as digital advertising or pitching articles to major publications
About You
We are looking for someone who is adaptable, fast-moving, and singularly committed to using their career to improve the world to the greatest reasonable extent they can. We do not expect prior experience in recruitment or communications/marketing. What matters is the ability to learn quickly, work flexibly, and stay focused on impact.

Possible Progression to Director of Recruitment
While this role is advertised at the Recruitment Manager level, AIM’s current Director of Recruitment will be leaving their role in the next 6 months. For an exceptional candidate, we would be open to discussing an accelerated pathway into a Director of Recruitment position.

Our application process is designed to be efficient and informative. Our application is designed to identify and evaluate skills that are actually predictive of an applicant’s performance on the job (such as test tasks) rather than conventional but less predictive assignments (such as cover letters). About the role
As Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will be responsible for delivering sector-leading fundraising, sitting at the heart of a successful team to drive relationships and income from some of the UK’s leading philanthropists.
You will thrive in personally engaging with donors to proactively solicit major gifts, alongside leading and inspiring a team of major gift fundraisers. We have a well-connected and engaged Trustee Board and an experienced fundraising Chair.
This role reports to the Head of Philanthropy and Capital Campaigns and will line manage the Philanthropy Manager (currently being recruited) and Trusts Fundraising Manager (in post), with potential for further direct and indirect reports in the future.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a talented high-value fundraiser who brings significant major giving experience (at a five-figure level+), a proven track record of the full donor cultivation journey, including researching prospects, building relationships and securing donations to deliver income.
Management experience would be beneficial, as would an understanding of fundraising for the NHS, healthcare, or a similar setting.
Our fundraising department
Our dynamic fundraising department generated £4.5m through donations in 2023/24, and we are now preparing for an ambitious £50 million campaign to fund the construction of a ground-breaking cancer centre on the site of the Royal Free Hospital.
We pride ourselves on being a supporter-focused and agile function, working at the heart of the charity to deliver impact for patients and staff across our hospitals. Responsible for attracting and retaining donors, and delivering an outstanding supporter experience, the fundraising department comprises of two teams which work closely together to achieve our shared objectives:
- Our Philanthropy & Capital Campaign team builds relationships with individual philanthropists, trusts, foundations, corporate organisations and intermediaries, giving or facilitating donations of £10,000 or more to the charity each year. They lead major appeal activity for the charity, currently focused on our forthcoming cancer campaign, the charity’s first patron programme, and special events to support these activities.
- Our Public Fundraising team harnesses the support and energy of individuals and groups, helping them to give back in the way that works for them. This includes committed giving, in memory support, gifts in wills, and fundraising events and challenges.
- Our Fundraising Operations team underpins and supports the entire department.
Person specification
- Significant major giving experience within the not-for-profit sector, or equivalent experience from a comparable sector with demonstrable transferable skills.
- Proven track record in developing and managing a portfolio of donors (or customers)
- Track record of setting and achieving income targets and managing budgets.
- Evidence of outstanding written skills, including creating proposals, reports and internal briefings.
- Experience of making successful asks for financial support, which have achieved contributions in excess of £50,000.
- Experience in monitoring and managing KPIs and activity plans.
- Experience of proactively engaging in-person/virtually with major donors (or similar) to achieve relationship development objectives, including presenting personally and briefing senior colleagues to lead meetings.
