The Naval Children’s Charity provides financial and holistic support to children and families around the UK. We work closely with other charities, have our own team of caseworkers and use an external Armed Forces group case management system, Mosaic, run by SSAFA as well as a bespoke internal database of our beneficiaries, Beacon and a platform called Lightning reach to receive applications.

The role will be responsible for;
Donation Management
· Execute the day-to-day operation of the Rhodes Trust’s Gift Registry, ensuring that global gift/pledge and notification processes for all our philanthropic income streams are accurately coordinated alongside the delivery of first-class donor care and support.
· Work with Relationship Managers to coordinate bespoke donor gift agreement processes, supporting the close of major gifts.
· Work with Relationship Managers to coordinate bespoke pledge reminder letters.
Donor Stewardship
· Actively support the team in the writing and delivery of gift acknowledgement letters within 72 hours of gift receipt.
· Support the Rhodes Trust’s major donor recognition programme across our leadership giving streams and platforms, including donor engravings in Rhodes House, the Honour Roll of Donors, and the Rhodes Trust website.
· Manage special projects related to donor stewardship across all giving streams from annual, to major giving, to planned giving. This includes existing programs such as donor birthday cards and condolence letters, but there is also opportunity to think creatively about new ways to ensure every donor at the Trust feels involved and appreciated.
· Support the major donor reporting processes.
Database Management
· Become fluent in our Development database (Salesforce) and serve as the first point of contact on the team for report requests related to financial, donor, and Campaign data.
Essential skills, experience and qualifications:
· Team player with a positive approach to new challenges and a strategic outlook.
· Relevant development experience in the higher education sector or similar.
· Proactive, focused and organised, with excellent attention to detail.
· Experience of gift management and donor report writing.
· Ability to work well under pressure, prioritise work and meet deadlines.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader, with a passion for giving children the best possible start and with a strong belief in the power of communities. The role will work both locally and nationally, as part of the wider team.

About the role
Our passionate Regional Casework Coordinators are SSAFA’s front line of support for members of the armed forces community in need. They are the first point of contact for all beneficiaries into the Regional office, assessing needs and allocating the case to one of our volunteer caseworkers.
You will sometimes handle complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlining needs to determine the best way to support the beneficiary. You will have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensure that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service. You will have the opportunity to shape processes and procedures within the office which will lead to improvements in the service offered to clients.
To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA.
Whilst the post is homebased, to be eligible for this role you are required to live in the West Midlands region, which includes:
Birmingham, Sandwell, Walsall, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Solihull, Coventry, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire

About the team

You will work closely with volunteers from the eight SSAFA branches in the West Midlands, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing welfare advice in key areas such as, housing benefits, debt, disability, mobility or immigration issues. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR and experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. You will be able to provide excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.
It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families and if you have experience of recruiting and supporting volunteers. An understanding of the voluntary sector and preferably the military charity sector landscape across the West Midlands would be valuable.

The International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) is exclusive partnering with Robertson Bell in their search for a Head of Financial Planning & Analysis to join their evolving team on a permanent basis, in this newly created role.
The Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is a key senior member of the finance team and will help shape the strategic management and direction of the team. They will support the Director of Finance and Operations, Senior Leadership Team, Trustees and budget holders to understand and interpret IIED’s finances and play a key role in the long term strategic financial planning process.
The organisation:
IIED is a global research organisation dedicated to sustainable development, connecting local needs with global challenges. They operate on six continents, advocating for the world's most vulnerable communities to influence decisions that impact them. Based in London and Edinburgh, with 200 staff and associates worldwide, IIED has led sustainable development policy for over 50 years.

The key duties of the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis are as follows:
- Lead on strategic financial reporting to provide a clear picture of the organization’s short- and long-term financial position
- Manage the design and build of financial models to support strategic planning, project impact assessment, and forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop realistic forecasts and budget plans
- Develop and maintain financial models to project future financial performance
- Lead the finance business partnering function, providing support and guidance to budget holders and key stakeholders
- Ensure monthly management accounts are produced and shared with stakeholders

The successful candidate will have:
- Qualified with a recognised professional body, or be able to prove they are qualified by experience
- Experience in charity financial planning, budgeting and cost recovery model in a complex organisation
- Substantial relevant finance management experience in the not-for-profit sector
- Experience in mapping and analysing processes and identifying and implementing process improvement
- Excellent communication skills and be able to influence at all levels within the organisation
- Ability to manage, support and develop diverse teams to work effectively together and with the rest of the organisation
- Ideally, experience of accounting within a grant receiving organisation
