The Nuffield Foundation is recruiting an Executive Assistant to work closely with, and support, our Chief Executive, Leadership Team, Trustees and members of our governance committees.

The Executive Assistant will work at the intersection of strategic leadership and effective operational administration, working as a lynchpin within the organisation to provide high level administrative and operational support to the Nuffield Foundation’s Leadership Team (LT) and Chief Executive. They will be a trusted partner responsible for delivering high-level strategic, operational, and administrative support to the CEO and LT.

This will include:

• Scheduling, coordinating and supporting all Trustee and other Committee meetings and events, including the preparation of papers and agendas, taking detailed minutes and tracking agreed actions.
• Managing the CEO’s diary, providing briefings and drafting documents and presentations as required.
• Scheduling, planning and preparation of Leadership, staff and other large/organisation-wide meetings.
• Managing the overall governance calendar, and key governance documents and records.
• Working with the Directors of Strategy, Finance and HR on strategic and operational planning
• Providing diary management and other general administrative support to members of the LT where required.

This role acts an extension of the CEO’s office, ensuring alignment across leadership priorities, and effective and timely follow-through on strategic and operational initiatives.

The successful candidate will be experienced in providing executive and administrative support to leaders, ideally within a similar organisation or setting. They will demonstrate professionalism and a strong work ethic, and will have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with a broad range of colleagues and use tact, discretion, influence and diplomacy when required. They will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to draft correspondence and short papers as well as take minutes of meetings. The ability to demonstrate political acumen and experience of providing company secretary/governance-type support is also desirable.

About the role

You will maintain accurate financial records and systems that meet charity accounting standards and the requirements of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP).

You will produce timely, clear, and insightful monthly management accounts and financial reports for our executive team and board of trustees, supporting evidence-based decision making. You’ll also ensure our balance sheet is up to date, financial controls are robust, and all financial transactions are managed efficiently and with integrity.

This is a key leadership role in ensuring we continue to manage our resources effectively, enabling us to deliver our mission now and into the future.

Job Title Director of Marketing and Communications

Reporting to Chief Executive

Working Hours 37.5 hour working week, 9:00 to 5:30 Monday to Friday to include some evening and weekend hours as required

Job Purpose

This role is a senior leadership team member and strategic lead for all corporate and consumer communications, member business engagement and marketing.

The relationship with our business community is essential to the success of The Fitzrovia Partnership (TFP) and the delivery of the organisation’s vision and it is a key part of our strategy to ensure that businesses are aware of us and the services and projects we deliver. As such you would be responsible for the delivery of member engagement.

You will lead the marketing and communications function and manage the Marcomms team, continually developing and implementing effective marketing and communications strategies clearly articulating TFP’s vision, aims, projects and services.

Finally, you will provide strategic oversight and development for:

· Member communication strategy including BID renewal communications

· Consumer communications and campaigns strategy

· Social, wellbeing, member event and training programmes

· All communications channels including newsletter, websites, social media

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Senior Leadership

· To play a role together with the CEO and the Director of Policy and Place in setting the overall vision of the organisation and ensuring delivery specifically in relation to the agreed business plan.

· Have a key role working closely with the Board and relevant sub-groups.

· To represent the organisation publicly as required, and step in for the CEO as required.

Member Engagement

· Driving, developing and ensuring implementation of the member engagement strategy.

· Ensuring effective account management contact with member businesses.

• Overseeing market research and consultation such as surveys, customer questionnaires and focus groups to inform the development of plans, projects and services.

Consumer Marketing

· Developing and ensuring implementation of an effective consumer communications strategy.

· Leading on development of collateral centring around the TFP website and social media.

· Oversight of consumer campaigns and ensuring effective evaluation and impact studies.

· Overall responsibility and accountability for the events programme including risk management governance.

· Experience of design and working with/commissioning designers.

Projects

· Developing, refreshing and ensuring implementation of project specific communications (new and existing).

· Providing creative input and Marcomms elements of new, placemaking and cultural projects.

· Identifying and securing brand-aligned sponsorships to enhance destination campaigns.

· Driving joint marketing with businesses, tourism and media partners.

· Structuring BID renewal communications based on insights gained throughout the BID term.

Communication and Marketing Channels and Collateral

· Ensuring production of high quality and effective collateral.

· Considering and where appropriate developing new communications channels.

· Ensuring TFP’s messaging is clear, effective, accurate and alive to different audiences and local and other sensitivities.

Team Leadership

· Leading and developing a high-performing, collaborative MarComms team

· Managing MarComms budgets, procurement, KPIs, forecasting and reporting to ensure best value and effective impact.

Essential Responsibilities 

• Develop and implement ongoing strategies for Humane World for Animals’ growth in private philanthropy amongst wealth advisors, individuals and DAF managers in the UK, ensuring a strong ROI and including setting appropriate KPIs to monitor progress and measure success. 
• Align the UK DAF strategy with the broader high net worth engagement strategy , collaborating with colleagues to maximise impact. 
• Build Humane World for Animals’ UK DAF portfolio: identify, cultivate, solicit and deliver significant relationships and partnerships with wealth advisors and DAF managers. 
• Conduct outreach to wealth advisors outside the Humane World for Animals network who may not yet be familiar with our work and raising our profile with this specific audience, including via networking and events opportunities. 
• Formulate and implement individual strategies for developing key DAF partnerships and initiatives around programmatic priorities, mobilising necessary internal and external resources to ensure all partnerships are effectively executed and partners’ needs are fully met. Includes proposal development work. 
• Act as an internal expert on the DAF landscape within the UK, bringing this to bear when developing proposals and ideas with programmatic staff. 
• Contribute to internal collaboration on breakthrough solutions that can deliver social impact at scale for complex philanthropic relationships which span a variety of mechanisms of giving. 
• Partner across revenue streams (including corporate partnerships, foundations, and major gifts) to maximise and leverage fundraising opportunities. 
• Lead on our high net worth income from individuals;  identify, cultivate, solicit and deliver significant relationships. 
• Develop working relationships with program staff in order to identify funding opportunities and access program information that can be used to cultivate and steward wealth advisors. 
• Stay abreast of key issues and trends in the international aid and wealth advisor community. 
• Use our CRM (ROI Solutions) to track all DAF activity and revenue and activity projection in line with our data protection and privacy policies. 
• Effectively represent Humane World for Animals to external audiences for both fundraising and profile elevation. 
• Identify opportunities to represent Humane World for Animals on panels and events of interest to wealth advisors, including strategising around Humane World for Animals specific-events to engage wealth advisors. 
• Strategic engagement with senior stakeholders to support donor engagement.

The role:

This key role will add substantial grant-making and strategic capacity to the AFF team, which currently consists of 7 people  reporting to the Director of A Fairer Future. The role will take on existing relationships in the form of a portfolio of organisations at various points in their funding journey. This person will pick up these relationships and ensure continuity as well as assessing new applications.  There will also be work contributing to strategic initiatives, helping to achieve impact in the thematic areas covered by the AFF strategy and roadmaps. Committed to social justice, the candidate will be ambitious to help create change using Esmée's full range of tools and approaches.

Convening collaborations, commissioning research and mobilising networks to create change will all be part of this role in addition to the more day to day management of organisation's funding journey, supporting them from application onwards to achieve the best possible impact. They will also be responsible for capturing learning from reporting, site visits and facilitating online discussions with organisations, as well as representing the Foundation at sector forums and events concentrating on the AFF priority areas.

The culture at the Foundation is collaborative and nurturing, so working closely with colleagues to share ideas and learn from each other will be essential in this role.

The person:

The successful candidate will have experience of working in one or more of the areas cover by the AFF priorities, perhaps gained through work in the voluntary or local authority sector.  We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with experience in services to Children and Young People and/or racial justice, but are also interested to hear from those with experience more broadly across our AFF priority areas. This experience could have been gained from the delivering or commissioning programmes in these areas or indeed from a grant making perspective.

Highly organised, intellectually curious and pragmatic, this person will be able to unpick complex information and will be confident in assessing applicants' financial information. They will understand the charity funding world and importantly, the challenges faced by marginalised communities across the UK in the face of widespread inequity. The AFF team works with the Involving Young People's Collective, candidates should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the value of co-production.

IT confident and systematic in their approach, this person will also be helpful and empathetic in addition to being an excellent communicator, both in person and in written work. Excellent attention to detail, thorough and collaborative in their approach to work, this person will be a real team player whilst being able to work under their own steam, working in a fast-paced environment.

An understanding and experience of systems change principles and an appreciation of the nuanced intersections between the various priorities of the AFF programme will be important to success in this role. Are you passionate about putting an end to homelessness across Oxfordshire?

The Oxfordshire Homelessness Alliance (the Alliance) is a group of organisations (Local government, A2 Dominion, Aspire, Connection Support, Elmore, Homeless Oxfordshire and St Mungo’s) that came together in 2022 to deliver single homelessness services across the county under one contract.

Services delivered by the Alliance include the city and county outreach services for people experiencing rough sleeping, supported accommodation such as the hostel O’Hanlon House, shared dispersed supported accommodation, and homelessness prevention services.

The Alliance is commissioned through a pooled annual budget of c£3.8m which all District Councils in Oxfordshire, the City Council, the County Council, and the Berkshire, Oxfordshire, and Buckinghamshire Integrated Care Services, contribute towards. Oxfordshire County Council and Oxford City are the lead commissioners of the Alliance. 

As part of the initiative, the Alliance will deliver an ambitious housing led change programme which is seeing services remodelled to support and enable people to live in their own homes and fulfil their aspirations. 

This role is hosted by Connection Support which is part of the Oxfordshire Homelessness Alliance. The role will be guided by the work plan of both the alliance chair and the alliance commissioners.

The impact you will have

As the Oxfordshire Homelessness Alliance Programme Manager, you will play a pivotal role in making the alliance and the services it delivers a success. You will provide strategic and operational oversight and day to day leadership and management.

You will strive to improve the services that are delivered by working closely with the Alliance Leadership and Management Team, partners, commissioners, and organisations working to put an end to homelessness. Fostering and enabling a culture of continuous improvement will be at the heart of your work.

Who we are

The Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI) is an independent charity established in 1967. For over 57 years, we have promoted our vision of a society in which people can live safely and are treated with equal dignity and respect, regardless of where they are from or how they came to the UK. To achieve this, we provide legal advice, representation and holistic support to migrants experiencing injustice, poverty, and discrimination; we undertake parliamentary advocacy and expert policy analysis; we speak out and challenge damaging and discriminatory media narratives about immigration; we use law as a tool of resistance;  we work in solidarity with migrants and grassroots groups, and we build campaigns that work towards a fairer approach in immigration and asylum law and policy. Role purpose

This is a new role, where the director will bring together the work of the Advocacy and the Communications teams to lead JCWI's campaigns. The Director leads JCWI’s campaigns and community organising; policy and parliamentary advocacy; working in alignment with directly impacted communities and partners within and beyond the migration sector. The Director builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders, and ensures the organisation’s collective expertise influences political debates and the public narrative on migrants’ rights and racial justice.

The role provides strategic leadership for JCWI’s campaigns to drive forward positive change for migrant rights in an increasingly hostile political climate, and supports a wide range of work building campaigns, coalitions and networks to advance migrant justice, ensuring that JCWI is a generous and collaborative partner, working in solidarity with all groups, including grassroots and community groups, unions, faith groups and NGOs.

The Director provides line management and strategic leadership to the Advocacy and Communications Team, overseeing the direction of the team, overseeing the teams' work and ensuring close, collaborative working relationships across all teams.

The Director is a lead spokesperson for the organisation, representing JCWI and our values at public forums, in the media and within coalitions. They will set the narrative and agenda for public discourse on migrant rights and border reform, lead the organisation’s long-term digital outreach and engagement work and support the team to create compelling and accessible content, driving traffic to our digital channels and converting this into successful supporter and donor recruitment and engagement strategies. • Represent JCWI at meetings and events with key decision makers, including parliamentarians, policymakers and other organisations in the sector, to make the case for policy change, influence narratives, and hold those in power to account in solidarity with communities at the sharpest end of UK immigration controls 

• Work closely with the Legal Directors and wider team to ensure our casework and outreach informs JCWI’s advocacy work, and to together identify opportunities for public-interest litigation relevant to JCWI’s campaign priorities
