This is a senior leadership role overseeing all aspects of financial management, reporting, compliance, and team development within the charity.

About the role

As Head of Finance, you will lead the financial strategy and operations of the charity, ensuring robust financial controls, timely reporting, and effective budgeting processes. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance & Operations, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team and play an integral role in supporting strategic decision-making.

You will oversee all aspects of financial accounting, including month-end and year-end close processes, VAT compliance, and the preparation of statutory accounts in line with FRS 102 and the Charities SORP. You will manage a small team (currently an Assistant Accountant and a Finance Officer), providing coaching and support to build capability and ensure high-quality outputs.

A key priority for the incoming Head of Finance will be embedding and improving processes within Access Financials, strengthening internal controls, and delivering reliable reporting for internal and external stakeholders. • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)

SOS Rape Crisis (SOSRC) is an independent specialist sexual violence charity providing support for adults (regardless of gender), young people and children who have experienced sexual violence and/or child sexual abuse, in Southend, Castle Point and Rochford.

We are part of Synergy Essex, a partnership of three Rape Crisis Centres (SOSRC, SERICC and CARA), funded by the Office for the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex to provide a countywide ISVA service.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a dedicated team providing vital support to survivors of sexual violence and abuse. As a Navigator Project Worker, you will be the first point of contact for individuals accessing Southend-on-Sea Rape Crisis services. You will offer compassionate, trauma-informed, and needs led support, helping survivors feel heard and understood from the outset. Through careful assessment and informed referrals, you’ll play a key role in connecting survivors with the most appropriate services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a professional and empathic first point of contact for survivors of sexual violence and/or abuse.

• Offer one-off emotional and practical support, and provide information, signposting and onward referrals.

• Complete initial assessments to identify their needs and most appropriate next steps.

• Keep accurate, timely and confidential records on the case management system.

• Work in partnership with SOSRC colleagues including the Counselling and ISVA Teams.

• Attend team meetings, one-to-ones, clinical supervision, line management and other meetings as required.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader, with a passion for giving children the best possible start and with a strong belief in the power of communities. The role will work both locally and nationally, as part of the wider team. 

The Director will manage our client’s existing programme in Redcar and Cleveland with a talented and committed team (10 staff). They will also develop and manage the new programme in Middlesbrough, currently in Discovery phase, and recruit a staff team of 8- 10 people, with support from the charity’s central team.  Once set up, the Director will lead the following across both areas: 

• Building relationships and networks in the areas, across the public, voluntary and private sector 

• Leading the team to support delivery of the charity's local early years strategy in the areas

• Leading the delivery of a portfolio of complementary workstreams, continuously refining and strengthening the work so that we make the greatest possible positive difference to local children and families 

• Working closely with local partners and the national team to ensure that data and learning is captured and fed into strategic thinking and our national model

The Actors’ Benevolent Fund supports professional actors and stage managers in times of need. We are inviting applications to join our small, friendly team in the role of Grants and Services Co-ordinator.

It is an exciting time to be joining the charity; our bold new Acting for Impact strategy seeks to increase the charity’s reach and impact within the performing arts community and you would play a key part in helping us achieve our ambitions. 

This Grants and Services Co-ordinator postholder will work directly with our applicants and beneficiaries, supporting them throughout our application processes and working with successful applicants to ensure the charity provides high-quality, appropriate support. This will include making grant decisions and working with beneficiaries to develop their support network.

We are looking for someone with experience of working with clients and service users, particularly as a first point of contact. Key aspects of the role also include supporting service development and leading on data management. Working as part of a small team (of four) you will need to be able to take an adaptable approach to manage competing priorities. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build professional relationships with clients, and work collaboratively with colleagues internally and externally.

Mission Without Borders International is embarking on a season of renewal and growth. We have successfully implemented a new CRM system across our 12 affiliates who are scoped with raising financial and prayer support. The next phase of our systems upgrade will involve rolling out the new CRM system to our 6 field country operations in 2026. And then a new finance system. All of this with the goal of creating dashboards of data which provide real-time insights into the mission’s consolidated financial position and inform strategic decision-making. It is into this exciting new stage of the Mission that we seek a Director of Finance.

You will be a Christian, qualified accountant with proven experience as an international finance leader, having implemented new systems and worked across multiple jurisdictions. Experience of the charity/humanitarian sector and an understanding of the complexities of in-country programme management would be beneficial. You will have an open and servant-hearted leadership style that leads through team building and a drive to see excellence delivered through strong and transparent working relationships. You will be passionate about our vision to reach people for Christ.
