Key duties and reponsibilities:

Management Role

· Based on the policies of the charity as defined by the Trustees Board (created Oct 2022 AGM), manage the affairs of the charity with due respect for its heritage, status and independence.

· Within those defined policies, take decisions that allow the development of its business activities, liaising with other Trustees as necessary, and report to the Trustees on a regular basis.

· When necessary, liaise on allocation of duties to other Trustees on a cooperative basis.

· Represent the charity at occasional public events and meetings with collaborative partners and in negotiations, e.g. NICE, ARTP, Sleep Clinics.

· Act as main point of external contact and manage that contact as appropriate.

· Take purchasing decisions within the defined responsibility of the position.

· Modernise and develop the SATA business on as cost efficient basis as possible — goal is generally self-financing.

· Explore business opportunities as appropriate. 

· Identify risk, consult with other officers and recommend action for Board decision.

· Finalise move to paperless operation.

Administrative Duties

· Arrange Trustee Board Meetings.

· Manage Membership Database.

· Administer Membership Renewals.

· Register & acknowledge new memberships.

· Handle resignations, deaths and other membership issues with appropriate respect.

· Acknowledge Donations.

· Administer Gift Aid claim with Treasurer.

• Communicate financial insights to support internal planning and delivery

• Act as point of contact for accountants, funders, and financial stakeholders
   

Essential Skills and Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing finances in a charity or non-profit

• Strong understanding of financial systems, reporting, and controls

• Experience managing day-to-day accounting and overseeing restricted/unrestricted funding

• Familiarity with grants management and funder reporting

• Strong communication skills with the ability to advise senior leadership

• Ability to build and manage funder relationships

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Proactive and self-motivated; able to work independently

• Strong IT skills and experience with financial software

Salary, Benefits & Working Conditions

• Salary: £40–45k per annum, depending on experience

• Hours: Full-time, but open to part-time (minimum 4 days/week)

• Location: Remote, with flexibility around UK-adjacent working hours

• Leave: 35 days holiday plus UK bank holidays (pro-rata if part-time); 14 days medical leave

• Pension: Statutory employer contributions (currently 3%)

The Active Wellbeing Society (TAWS) is a community benefit society and cooperative working with communities to identify, mitigate and remove barriers that prevent them from living active and connected lives.

In 2024, TAWS was given the opportunity pilot a Surplus Hub Project at Birmingham Wholesale Market, where edible waste food destined for anaerobic digestion can be diverted to human consumption. To purpose of this role is to maximise the amount of surplus food available to the Food Justice Network groups via the Birmingham Wholesale Markets.

Food Redistribution Manager:

The Food Justice Network is a network of around 300 independent partner organisations, all of who are providing support across the city. FJN Partners offer a range of services from foodbanks to community cafes, to community pantries and warm spaces, all delivering vital support to some of Birmingham's most vulnerable citizens.

Your role will be the sourcing and procuring farming surplus and collective buying of fresh produce for the Food Justice Network. Part of this opportunity will be facilitating the set-up of a city-wide network to make surplus food redistribution more coordinated and effective.

There is already a significant amount of surplus food redistributed across the city and lots of work going on in terms of reducing waste in businesses but we know that sometimes unexpected surplus food arises and not every food business is plugged in to the surplus food network.

Alongside the core of the role, you will also be managing two to three people who you will be working in conjunction with but on separate projects.

This will provide less reasons for businesses to waste food with a strong, well connected and promoted network.

Vision of adventure, a small outdoor charity based in the Lake District , is seeking an experienced fundraiser to join our team. We specialise in working with people with visual impairments facilitating outdoor adventures, social connection and access to specialist coaching. Through the appointment of a Strategic Programme Director (SPD), we have been given an opportunity to bring a step change in our mission and ministry across the Diocese of Coventry.  With a history of innovative missional practice and a dedicated team of lay and ordained leaders across our diverse geographical area (Warwickshire, Coventry and part of Solihull), we are looking to appoint a strategic thinker who is solutions focused with experience in bringing impactful change. The SPD will join us at an exciting time in the strategic development of the Diocese of Coventry as our new diocesan bishop takes up her responsibilities with a vision to see all churches flourish. A highly consultative approach will be needed as we look ahead to the beginning of this new season.

The Strategic Programme Director will be responsible for contributing to and supporting the Bishop’s Senior Staff Team and key lay and ordained leaders in the delivery of the diocesan strategy. The role will ensure that the programmes, projects and workstreams within the plan are delivered on time, within scope and budget. The Programme Director will provide oversight of the strategic plan from inception of ideas through implementation to delivery of projects.  Working collaboratively across the Diocese, the role will also ensure that key outcomes are well-defined, appropriately prioritised, delivered to plan and within budget. As we embark upon delivering our Tenants at Heart Corporate Plan 2025-2030, our whole focus is to put the tenant at the heart of what we do. Tenant involvement is a key part of this role; gaining their insights and support when services are procured, and ongoing monitoring, through inspections and customer satisfaction. You'll be responsible for ensuring tenants are kept informed about performance and variations to contracts, as well liaising with tenants to resolve issues and complaints. You'll also be responsible for providing performance related data for internal and external reporting.

• Experience of procuring environmental, communal and/or estates management services, such as grounds maintenance, cleaning, waste management, pest control etc.
• Proven track record of successful contract management, with experience of performance management, enhancing compliance and oversight of financial and budgetary controls.
• Experience of developing, managing and motivating a team.
• Managing approximately 15 contracts at different stages of their lifecycle, you'll be highly organised, and be able to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines.

We support children and young people (up to the age of 25) when someone important to them has died or is not expected to live, and parents and the wider family when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying.

About the Role

Child Bereavement UK is looking to recruit a Bespoke Training Coordinator to join our busy Training Team. This is a full-time role, supporting the Head of Training in developing and growing our bespoke training offer. Duties include dealing with incoming enquiries, assessing needs and creating solutions as well as providing project management and admin support to the team for our core offering. This role will also be responsible for running monthly internal training sessions, which take on various forms depending on need. This is a developing role with future opportunities to be involved in delivering presentations and supporting training.

This role will be involved in the development of training covering subjects such as:

• EDI topics such as Autism and Gender Diversity

• Onboarding new adult volunteers to Sea Cadets

Responsibilities

• Work with course designers to develop new, and maintain existing, elearning and media content.
• Translate storyboards into interactive learning content, creating activities, graphics, animations, audio and videos, using tools such as Articulate (Storyline and Rise), Canva, H5P, Murf and Adobe.
• Ensure learning meets development guidelines, and is accessible, functional and engaging.
• Integrate learning content to create courses on our learning management system (Moodle).
• Test learning content, including using screen readers and other accessibility software.
• Help to maintain the guidelines for course development.
• Support the day-to-day administration of the Sea Cadets learning management environment
• Cultivate strong working relationships across multiple teams (internal and external)
• Stay up to date with latest system upgrades and advise on their potential impact on existing or new courses

Requirements

• eLearning development experience ( e.g. tools such as Articulate Storyline and Rise, or similar)
• Experience in media creation for graphics, sound and video editing.
• Good MS Office skills

Desirable

• Experience using Teams and SharePoint
• Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
• LMS Administration experience (our platform is based on Moodle, Mahara and Alfresco but other LMS skills will be transferable)
• Subject matter knowledge in one of the following areas:
  • Supporting Autistic young people
  • Specialised educational needs
