Purpose of the Role:

Please note this is a detailed job description and many of the activities below do not take place everyday

This is a key role to work with an exciting community taking lead responsibility for the looking after key aspects of existing and new membership. You will be working alongside an experienced team supporting the Liberal Jewish Synagogue, the largest Liberal Synagogue in the UK, to be the best it can be. 

Your role will touch all aspects of the synagogue with a particular focus on looking after new members, the membership process and members in general, acting as a key conduit to ensure that our members receive the best service we can provide. You will also ensure that ourCRM system is up to date and important data and information can be pulled form it. 

You will support bereaved families in the immediate aftermath of a death by organising funerals, shivas and stone-settings.

Additionally you will support our Senior Rabbi in her work including diary management and ensuring, working alongside others, that life cycle and important religious festivals are being managed and delivered to the highest standards. 

Senior Rabbi PA

Support the Senior Rabbi in all aspect of their work to include:-

o Administrative and secretarial support for the Senior Rabbi including correspondence, diary management and to act as their first point of contact for enquiries by phone, email and in person

o Liaise and work alongside the member of staff (Office Administrator) who is PA for the other Rabbis and supporting when necessary

o Meet with Senior Rabbi regularly to review weekly diary, plan for the future and complete event forms

o Work closely with the Office Administrator (who organises all internal and life cycle events) to develop efficient procedures, printing and systems to ensure organisation of all life cycle events (including baby blessings, Bar-Bat Mitzvahs, Kabbalat Torah, weddings and mixed faith blessings, conversion, admission ceremonies).

o Assist with planning and coordination of events generated by the Senior Rabbi

o Keep timetables of all life cycle events coordinating with office staff to ensure these events and linked celebrations are delivered effectively

o Keep a tracking system that logs where proselytes are on their conversion journey.

o Liaise with the LJS Community Care Co-ordinator and other contacts over pastoral and other issues being dealt with by the Senior Rabbi.

o Circulate the services calendar and the  Bar/Bat Mitzvah schedule of dates

o Support the volunteers who coordinate the mitzvot

o Assist in the organisation of the High Holy Days particularly in co-ordinating all mitzvot

o Assist the Senior Rabbi and the office in the organisation of interfaith/multifaith and other events including the sending out invitations and co-ordinating response

o Ensure that thank you letters for donations, yahrzeits and other acknowledgements are prepared and signed by the Senior Rabbi

o Complete the weekly yahrzeit list

o Complete administration support for the Bereavement Support

o Any other duties which may be reasonably requested by the Senior Rabbi and Executive Director.

o Funeral Coordinator

o To co-ordinate the administration of funerals (burials and cremations) for members and non-members.

o To liaise with the family/estate, rabbis, funeral directors, cemetery/crematorium or others as necessary in making the arrangements.

o To provide details of cost to the person organising the funeral.

o To prepare funeral and related invoices in consultation with the Financial Controller.

o To organise consecrations and arrange interments of ashes and ordering of memorial plaques.

o To administer the burial of non-members, including preparing invoices and dealing with payments for the burials.

o To administer the allocation of graves, reservations and columbarium

o To prepare condolence letters for Rabbis.

o To send out electronic Bereavement Notifications

o To respond to requests from the public for plot locations and information on the cemetery.

o To provide annual statistical information on burials and cremations for Liberal Judaism and the Board of Deputies.

o To ensure and promote the maintenance of graves as requested by families

o Send out the biennial Memorial Service for the Loss of a Child and the Loss of the Prospect of a Child.

Membership Coordinator:

o Administer and coordinate the membership process from receipt of a new application including liaising with the applicant, the Financial Controller and the Rabbis

o Maintain the appropriate Council reports for new members and resignations 

o Send welcome letters and packs to new members

o Send resignation letters to members

o Ensure the CRM (ShulCloud) system is up to date (training will be provided) with members’ details, and their journey through the membership process including adding new members, resigning members, changing their status in respect of age membership changes and so on.

o Produce ShulCloud (CRM) reports

o Ensure ShulCloud (CRM) is maintained and up to date

o Work closely with staff to support contact with members in respect of volunteering, marketing, High Holy Day ticketing, the creation of mail merges and the AGM

o Be a ‘superuser’ of the ShulCloud, working closely with the ShulCloud consultant, understanding and learning what the system can do and supporting others to use it.

o Work alongside other areas that involve links to membership i.e. education

o Any other relevant tasks as requested

Personal Specifications:

Prior administrative or personal assistant experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

High level of discretion and confidentiality

Proficiency with office software (i.e. Microsoft Office)

Experience of using ShulCloud CRM system would be beneficial but not essential (training will be provided)

Comfortable working in a Progressive Jewish religious environment; familiarity with Jewish customs and terminology

Flexibility to work occasional evenings/weekends during holidays or events

An understanding of how a CRM system can be used to provide data and information and enhance membership experience

The Digital Communication Officer works in the Communications team, reporting to the Head of Communications & Fundraising and manage Glass Door design, web & socials.  

Through this role, we will deliver a robust plan of impactful and on-brand content, raising the profile of our work and ensuring we are known amongst existing and new audiences in London 

Job Spec 

Editorial & Design 

• Ability to produce fresh, emotive and informative content across print & digital platforms - including profiles of guests, news stories, blogs and speeches

• Lead on design and delivery across the organisation – digital & print: including posters, informative leaflets, presentations, graphics and images for social media, newsletters and website as needed 

• Work collaboratively across the organisation to solicit content from other members of staff, including caseworkers, operations and fundraising colleagues to support Communications’ strategic aims 

• Support the design of campaigns, appeals & events - working alongside the Head of Comms & Fundraising, and key members of the fundraising team to bring alive the vision of the campaign. 

• Co-lead on our work with content producers (photographers, videographers, designers, etc), ensuring content meets Glass Door’s standards and is signed off by appropriate staff members

• Maintain Sharepoint for digital content – including photos, social images, video and written content 

• Provide quality-control support (eg proof-reading and editing) on all materials outside of the Comms team and externally, ensuring all content, imagery and branding are consistent with house style and on brand 

• Create & deliver video content to support the digital strategy and on an ad-hoc basis 

Digital

• Manage and maintain all social media accounts in-line with Glass Door's social media guidelines, focusing on building awareness, driving traffic and increasing engagement

• Manage and update Glass Door's website in-line with the digital strategy and content planner 

• Co-develop & oversee a digital content calendar 

• Co-manage delivery of multiple/congruent campaigns, appeals and events to engage existing and attract new supporters, often working alongside key members of other teams including fundraising, operations and advocacy teams. 

• Support with digital marketing, working closely and collaboratively with the Marketing Officer, Head of Comms & Fundraising Team to plan, track and successfully deliver paid and organic digital journeys. 

• Monitor social media and advise key staff on any issues arising that could jeopardise the reputation of the charity, ensuring all Crisis Comms is managed in line with Crisis Comms Policy 

• Support the development and delivery of bi-monthly internal e-newsletters.

Monitor impact 

• Work closely and collaboratively with the Marketing Officer to ensure all conversions of paid promotion are tracked effectively and efficiently 

• Support the monitoring and tracking of website usage 

• Support the evaluation of social media and online reach, create monthly reports, and assist with evaluating the effectiveness of campaigns and appeals 

• Support the monitoring and tracking Google ads and analytics 

• Support the vision and production of a new website, ensuring it is on brand and meets our content and communication needs

Strategy 

• Co-lead on the planning and delivery of the Glass Door Communications Strategy – specifically on the digital and content plans 

• Support the delivery of Fundraising key deliverables – specifically on the digital content, stories and campaign key deliverables 

• Co-manage the Comms Team’s and cross org deliverables via project management platform monday(dot)com 

Events 

• Support co-ordination of events, by designing and delivering print and digital materials, online support to fundraisers, and representing the charity as needed in-person and online. 

Other

• Attend and participate in relevant team meetings, and other ad hoc meetings when necessary. 

• Undertake other ad hoc tasks as directed, such as assistance on Glass Door events and occasional administrative support to the CEO.

The Training Lead - Projects & DFTP (Digital First Transformation Programme) will design, develop and deliver training strategies and plans that successfully support and empower stakeholders to adopt new systems, products, processes and ways of working that align to the MHFA England strategy. The postholder will provide business partnering support to all directorates, working with directors, strategic leads, business SMEs and external stakeholders to identify training needs that will lead to high levels of change readiness and adoption. The central focus will be the implementation of MHFA England’s Digital First Transformation Programme.

The role will be involved in producing and analysing data to inform and feed into the People team strategy, especially for the first three months. Working closely with the Head of People, Wellbeing & Equity and the wider People team and covering for each other as needed, this role will lead on allocated projects pertaining to organisational and individual learning. The role holder will work with the internal stakeholders on developing and delivering interventions to improve communication with, and engagement of, staff and support wellbeing of colleagues. We are looking for a Digital Fundraising Lead to join the mass fundraising and engagement team at Scope.

In this exciting new role, you will be responsible for developing Scope’s digital fundraising strategy and embedding this across mass fundraising income streams as well as supporter led fundraising.

As the senior subject matter expert at Scope, you will lead your team in using an insight led approach to optimise digital campaigns and you will work with teams to improve the effectiveness of digital recruitment channels and the use of digital channels to improve supporter retention and the lifetime value of existing supporters.

As part of our Technology landscape, we have invested substantial amount of time and resources to benefit in robotic automation using a market leading new platform TOCA.IO. Our energetic IT team works at the forefront of automation, delivering solutions that streamline operations and enhance productivity.

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the full development lifecycle projects You’ll work alongside our small internal IT team, reporting directly to the Solutions Manager and supported by a SQL Developer and Business Analyst, contributing to the design, development, testing, and deployment of IT systems. About the role

The Monitoring & Learning Coordinator will lead the design, coordination, and implementation of monitoring, reporting, and learning processes for WaterAid’s Multi-country Urban Water Project. This is a bold initiative aiming to raise $40 million and reach two million people with clean water in urban areas across six anchor countries: Colombia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Mozambique, Bangladesh, and Cambodia. The campaign also seeks to build a global movement of youth advocates to demand action from world leaders to achieve SDG 6 relating to universal access to water and sanitation.

This role ensures accurate, timely data collection and learning, promotes adaptive management, and supports evidence-based decision-making.  Working closely with country teams and partners, the Monitoring & Learning Coordinator will strengthen monitoring and learning capacity, support the articulation and measurement of project impact, and help consolidate insights to inform both internal learning and sector-wide knowledge on urban water programming. This includes tracking progress towards the ambitious goal of reaching two million people.

The role will also support donor reporting, liaise with Member offices, and deputise for the Project Delivery Lead when required.

• Proven experience developing and managing MEL systems and processes for complex, multi-country or large-scale projects.
• Significant familiarity with both qualitative and quantitative MEL methods, participatory approaches, and adaptive management.
• Strong analytical and data management skills, including use of software for data analysis and visualisation
• Excellent facilitation, capacity building, and coaching skills to support country teams and partners.

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:

• Experience working with urban WASH programmes, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
• Experience in participatory MEL approaches and adaptive programme management.
• Experience designing surveys using mWater software, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, gender equality, disability inclusion, and social accountability in MEL processes.
• Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese or other relevant languages is an advantage.

CARIS Families is a small frontline charity that offers holistic support to families experiencing homelessness in hostels in the London Boroughs of Camden and Hackney.  Amongst our other services, we run play and learning activities for children aged 0-16 from within 4 hostels in these boroughs, as well as a school holiday day trip programme.  Our services for children aim to reduce the stress on children and parents of living in overcrowded, insecure accommodation, and to put back essential childhood experiences that homeless accommodation deprives children of.

The services we currently offer our families in hostels are:

- Kids Club: an after-school play club in term time for 0-16s, run from our dedicated play club in the basement of one family hostel in Camden.

- Enrichment Trips and Summer Programme: a series of day trips for groups of families from our 4 hostels in the school holidays.  We take part in exciting activities and visit interesting destinations round London and the South-East, to ease the pressures of being stuck in the hostel during the long school breaks.

- Essentials Bank: Our Essentials bank runs weekly in term-time from two of our hostels, offering families free hygiene products such as toiletries, nappies, washing powder etc. to ease the pressure on family finances at a difficult time.

- Family Support Work and Housing Casework: we offer holistic casework to support families to ease the stress of their situation, from working on finances to supporting employment searches, to assisting with legal cases and supporting them to navigate their housing case and move out of homelessness as soon as possible.

As a Children’s Residential Worker, you will directly look after children and young people who have complex emotional and mental health needs due to trauma, loss and other adverse experiences.
