Role Summary

The main function of the School Engagement Coordinator role is to

• The School Engagement Coordinator for Northern Ireland serves as a crucial liaison for the Into Film programme in the region. This role involves actively engaging with schools and educators to promote and support their participation in various initiatives related to film, games, and creative media.
• The Engagement Coordinator will be instrumental in ensuring that schools and teachers have access to the full range of educational resources, training, and opportunities offered by Into Film. They will collaborate closely with the Northern Ireland team to provide tailored support and foster meaningful connections between schools, the creative arts, and the industry.

Given the nature of the role, the Co-ordinator may need to work occasional weekends and extended hours, as well as travel regularly to designated regions and occasionally elsewhere in the UK.

Main Responsibilities: 

• Proactively engage with schools, teachers, and educational stakeholders across Northern Ireland to raise awareness of Into Film's programmes and resources.
• Deliver a range of educational activities, including school workshops, screenings and industry events, tailored to the needs of the local area.
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with schools, creative organisations, and screen industry bodies to support the delivery of Into Film's initiatives in NI.
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of Northern Ireland-specific programmes, including Story Builder, Games, Teaching with Film, Careers and Progression, and Young Creatives.
• Collaborate with teams across Into Film to ensure a joined-up approach to programme delivery, KPI achievement, and budgetary oversight.
• Ensure that Into Film's programmes respond to local needs and reach across Northern Ireland, while also feeding into the organization's UK-wide initiatives.
• Manage local partnerships and relationships, utilising CRM (Salesforce) to input and analyse data, create reports, and inform programme design.
• Support the existing Northern Ireland team with the delivery of locally funded projects and initiatives.
• Any other reasonable duties assigned by Into Film.

General Responsibilities:

Person Specification:

Minimum Requirements:

• Significant experience in designing and delivering engaging educational programmes, including youth workshops and industry-facing events.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Northern Ireland education system, curriculum, and the local creative/screen industries.
• A track record of establishing and nurturing partnerships with schools, organisations, and industry stakeholders.
• Proven ability to successfully manage projects, including cross-departmental collaboration, budget oversight, and timely delivery.
• Experience in using data to generate reports, analyse programme impact, and inform future initiatives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the capacity to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

About Us

CAP sets up and supports local partnerships that aim to reduce alcohol harm in children and young people, improve their health and well-being and enhance their communities. Our mission is to create an alcohol-free childhood for all children and young people.

Role Overview

The successful applicant will have a track record of building effective partnerships, the people and communication skills to involve and engage a wide range of local stakeholders and the leadership and project management skills to support projects through each phase of their lifecycle including baseline evaluation, action plan delivery, post intervention evaluation and maintenance/sustainment. After a short familiarisation period the successful applicant will be expected to oversee fast-track development of new CAPs in priority areas and take responsibility for all aspects of their management with minimal supervision.

A key requisite of the role will be the ability to forge effective public/private sector partnerships between statutory agencies, schools, youth charities and retailers following the CAP model and evaluation framework. The successful applicant may come from a police, public health, education, local authority or other relevant background.

Key Responsibilities

· Proactively identify opportunities for new CAPs and facilitate set up of new CAPs in priority areas.

· Ensure that all new CAP projects carry out appropriate and timely interventions and evaluate all activity in line with the CAP evaluation toolkit – including a baseline and post intervention evaluation.

· Raise the profile of CAPs in Scotland and ensure that their impact is recognised by key stakeholders.

Specific duties to include the following:

o Represent CAP at all operational meetings.

o Ensure that Retail of Alcohol Standards Group (RASG) member companies play a full delivery role in each CAP where they operate as businesses.

o Liaise as appropriate with strategic leads within local enforcement authorities and other partner organisations to initiate and complete agreed actions.

o Encourage all projects to achieve positive local media coverage including via social media and regional news/broadcast media.

o Ensure that all projects carry out as a minimum a baseline (pre-CAP) evaluation and post intervention evaluation following the CAP evaluation framework and project management survey tools.

o Produce a monthly progress report on all schemes and pipeline activity.

o Attend and participate in regular CAP update meetings on Microsoft teams (x12 pa).

o Assist with event planning and profile-raising opportunities such as MSP visits to CAP projects.

Skills, attributes and experience

• Essential to the role will be the ability to persuade key stakeholders at local and national level of the need to address underage drinking problems and to facilitate effective and dynamic local partnerships involving any/all of the following sectors: local authorities, education, child protection, social services, public health, Alcohol and Drug Partnerships, police, retailers and licensing.
• Excellent organisational and sound project management skills.
• Great people skills with the ability to build consensus and motivate partners to play a role in timely delivery of an agreed action plan.
• Act as an ambassador for CAP at meetings and events including parliamentary events.
• Excellent presentation and all-round communication skills.
• Capable administrator with the ability to keep accurate records including data collection around outputs and impact evaluation.

Remuneration: Consultancy fee of £320 per day depending on experience. Work will depend on ability to generate interest in setting up new CAPs but we anticipate as a guideline engaging a minimum of 2.5 days of consultancy per week or around 100 days per annum. All reasonable and agreed travel expenses will be paid in line with invoice arrangements.

To help these individuals engage with diverse creative activities and develop their confidence and self-esteem whilst helping them integrate into Hertfordshire and the UK.

Service Objectives

• To provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients with mental ill health.
• Support to build social networks and reduce isolation whilst settling into the Hertfordshire community this includes building a sustainable and empowering peer support network and building confidence and self-esteem.
• To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• Embed a person centred and solution focused approach in all aspects of the role.
• To work in a trauma informed way including awareness of the 6 principles of trauma informed practice, putting the clients emotional and practical needs at the forefront of this work.

• The purpose of this post is to promote and facilitate our Flourish peer support groups.

This is a varied role and the successful applicant will drive our community and events fundraising. You will organise the Tour de Vale Bike Ride plus other fundraising events at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, source runners for a range of third-party events including the Great North Run and help them reach their fundraising targets, identify and develop opportunities for community groups and local companies to support the charity and lead and manage our schools fundraising programme.

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you’ll be an integral member of our staff team who are committed to providing an excellent supporter and donor experience.

About you

We are looking for a friendly and organised individual with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets from sponsorship-based events or community fundraising along with experience of preparing activities to recruit, engage, inspire and retain supporters.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Refuge’s Development Team. The team focuses on working collaboratively with local and national commissioners to secure statutory funding for our national network of domestic abuse and gender-based violence/violence against women and girls (VAWG) support services; this involves competitive commissioning for all our services.

We are seeking a Pipeline and Contract Support Coordinator to support future sustainability, growth and development for Refuge within the violence against women and girls (VAWG) sector.  You will work as part of a dynamic Development Team, developing and coordinating our pipeline of new opportunities, and provide contract support for the grants and contracts that are held in the Development Team.

The post holder will be influential in securing new services and retaining existing services, which result in positive and lasting change for women and their children. Your role will primarily entail horizon scanning for new opportunities, maintaining a pipeline to monitor all relevant opportunities nationally, tracking commissioning trends, and ensuring that the team have all the relevant information required to assess new opportunities and make recommendations to Refuge’s Senior Leadership Team. You will also be required to support the collection, analysis and submission of the KPI data returns for the grants and contracts held within the Development Team.
