We are looking for a Senior New Business Manager to lead our new business function as we grow our corporate partnerships programme. This is a high-impact and visible role at the heart of our fundraising strategy. You will be responsible for:

• Managing and growing a robust new business pipeline, identifying, researching, and securing high-value corporate prospects

• Leading and motivating a talented team of three, providing guidance, development, and clear strategic direction

• Creating compelling, high-level partnership propositions that resonate with business leaders and align with our mission

• Working closely with the Corporate Account Management team to ensure a seamless journey from prospect to partner

Centrepoint operates a hybrid working model. The requirement is a minimum of 50% of your working week. This role will be accountable for:

Supporting the event owner in the successful planning and execution of all events across the charity, including the Families, Supporter and Operations Teams at Scotty's. This will include developing, promoting and delivering a range of events that align with our mission and values, drives supporter engagement, cultivates opportunities for our families to bond, and provides team collaboration.

What are the 3-month goals for this role:

· Can articulate the charity’s goals, culture, and impact, and how the Events Manager role supports this to happen. 

· Has a good understanding of the events plans for each team and the upcoming and year to view calendar of events.

· Establish initial contact with key stakeholders, including team members, partners, and supporters.

What are the 6-month goals for this role:

· Conduct an audit of current event plans and materials and speak with at current partners for feedback and learnings.

· Develop a comprehensive event strategy, outlining key tactics, timelines, and performance metrics.

· Identify and qualify suitable venues for upcoming events, ensuring they align with the charity's mission and values

· Establish success measures and key performance indicators (KPIs), analyse event results, and identify areas for improvement.

What are the 9-month goals for this role:

· Improve specific performance metrics, such as event budget management, event marketing effectiveness, and attendee satisfaction within the first nine months.

· Develop a comprehensive event strategy, outlining key tactics, timelines, and performance metrics.

· Track success measures and key performance indicators (KPIs), analyse event results, and identify areas for improvement.

What are the key responsibilities of this role:

• Develop and implement event plans with clear deadlines, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
• Coordinate with our partners and suppliers, ensuring required service levels are met.
• Identify and secure suitable venues that align with the event's theme and requirements.
• Negotiate with venues to obtain the best deals, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising on quality.
• Arrange catering services that meet the dietary needs and preferences of attendees.
• Book travel and accommodation for team members, families and other guests as needed, ensuring comfort and convenience.
• Assist with communications and marketing efforts to promote events and increase attendance.
• Manage event setup and takedown, ensuring all elements are in place and the venue is left in good condition.
• Oversee the design, sourcing, ordering, and delivery of branded materials (e.g., welcome packs, T-shirts, banners) to enhance the event experience.
• Write accurate risk assessments and ensure event safety, particularly for children, by identifying potential hazards and implementing preventive measures.
• Accountability for health and safety compliance at events, adhering to legal requirements and best practices.

Strategic

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Partnerships Manager to strengthen and grow our connections across the youth, education and democracy sectors. You will play a key role in expanding and deepening the Democracy Classroom Network, helping to increase its reach, visibility and impact on democratic education across the UK.

The role will support organisations to prepare for and collaborate on upcoming changes in democratic engagement and education - such as the introduction of Votes at 16 - ensuring the sector is coordinated, informed and ready to respond collectively.

This is a dynamic, people-focused role supporting more than 100 partner organisations to collaborate, share learning and deliver joined-up support for teachers and youth practitioners. You will work closely with the Head of Communications and Networks, the Communications Lead, and colleagues across The Politics Project to ensure that partners are supported, connected and able to collaborate effectively. Key responsibilities include:

Partnership management

• Act as the main point of contact for partner queries, feedback and support.
• Identify and onboard new organisations to join the Democracy Classroom Network.

This is a fast-paced role in a small but growing team. The post includes a six-month probation period and is fixed-term until March 2027, with potential for extension depending on funding. Occasional travel within the UK and some evening or weekend work will be required.

ABOUT IWPR

Founded in 1991, the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) is a non-profit organisation that works with independent media and civil society to promote positive change in areas of crisis and conflict. From Ukraine to the Philippines – via the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Central Asia – we have trained tens of thousands of journalists and civil society activists and built many lasting organisations that remain independent to this day in Afghanistan, the Balkans, Africa and Asia.

THE ROLE 

The Development Manager will proactively develop programme ideas into winnable proposals and progress income from institutional donors as well as trusts and foundations. Reporting to the Global Development Director, the successful candidate will be a self-starter with the relevant experience, skills and relationships to develop a portfolio of prospects and grantmakers. You will work as part of a collaborative and friendly development team and work closely with programmes to develop new ideas and applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop new ideas for business development and submit to institutional and/or trusts & foundations as appropriate
• To work with programme teams to submit timely proposals in response to calls including proposal development and coordinating the proposal administration process
• Work closely with the programme teams to identify and respond to new opportunities for their portfolios and develop existing relationships in collaboration with IWPR programmes
• Contribute to the development team and overall organisational income targets
• Develop strategies for engaging new prospective donors – including foundations - through research

Portfolio

As an agile organisation the portfolio of the team is constantly evolving. Currently focus areas for the role will be :

· Increase government investment in dementia research, working with Alzheimer’s Research UK’s research team to articulate priorities for spending and ensure we have robust policy proposals which government can implement. There will be a particular focus on clinical trial infrastructure and recruiting a more diverse range of participants in research

· Clinical engagement, by managing and growing our clinical engagement activities and the planning of our annual clinical conference.

• Experience of design packages, such as InDesign, Photoshop, or Canva, and content editing platforms, such as Premier Pro or CapCut.
• Excellent written, editing and verbal communication skills. Rigorous attention to detail and a keen eye for accuracy.
• Excellent customer service skills both on the phone, in person and via email
• Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communications skills. Proven ability to work effectively in collaborative, complex and fast-moving environments.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills: the ability to schedule, prioritise, budget, deliver and evaluate packages of work.
• Experience of managing expenditure budgets and an understanding of financial compliance.
• Ability to work positively and proactively with a broad range of individuals, organisations and audiences.
