Project Manager, Peatland Funding

RSPB Scotland is seeking someone to lead the way in our ambition to raise and manage funding for the vital restoration of Scotland’s peatlands, to benefit biodiversity, the climate and communities.

This role will focus on ensuring that a pipeline of peatland restoration funding routes, including funding applications, bids, and expressions of interest, are identified, developed, submitted, and managed, to secure financial support from various sources (public and private). You will be responsible for making sure that project owners are aware of and adhere to all contractual requirements, prepare regular funding reports and work with partners to solve potential problems.

You will be expected to check and submit budgets, make financial claims and update income and project spreadsheets. You will work with RSPB teams and external stakeholders to identify and manage novel funding routes and opportunities to support the Scotland Peatland Programme, acting as a liaison between them and peatland project teams. In addition, you will play a central role of support to peatland teams developing projects for the IUCN Peatland Code, providing funding guidance and expertise and being responsible for ensuring documents are developed and submitted to ensure successful project validation.

This role will sit within the RSPB Scotland Fundraising team and will work closely with the Scotland Peatland Programme, and as such it requires someone who is independently motivated and able to manage potentially conflicting priorities. We will facilitate visits to RSPB peatland reserves across Scotland to help you understand the specifics of restoration on each site.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Evidence of ability to build strong relationships with a range of teams to deliver key results
• Highly proficient in managing multiple workstreams and deadlines, communicating priorities clearly and updating decision makers. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to persuade and influence a wide range of people, both internally and externally.
• High level of IT skills for project and data management. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

About the LATA Foundation

The LATA Foundation was established in 2007 by members of the Latin America Travel Association (LATA) to support social and conservation projects throughout Latin America. The LATA Foundation aims to empower local communities, build capacity in the NGOs we support, and help protect the places we all love to visit. The foundation is proud to have donated over £550,000 to carefully chosen and vetted grassroots projects. 

We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to maintain the ongoing progress of the Foundation and continue moving the Foundation forward, building on the work of the Fundraising and Volunteer Manager.

We are seeking maternity cover for the Fundraising & Volunteer Manager starting November/December 2025. The position will be open until the Fundraising & Volunteer Manager returns to work, or 14 months from commencement, whichever is sooner (no later than end of 2026). The exact end date is contingent on the postholder's confirmed return and may change within that limit, we will provide a minimum of four weeks’ notice of any adjustment.

About the role

The postholder will lead on fundraising including income generation, strengthen donor stewardship and communications, and coordinate the effective contribution of our volunteer network. Acting as the Foundation’s principal fundraiser and a key public representative, you will design and deliver fundraising campaigns and partnerships; produce clear, impact-led communications across channels; and ensure volunteer activity is planned, resourced, and aligned to organisational priorities.

Core responsibilities:

Fundraising

• Lead regular-giving acquisition and onboarding; plan and deliver fundraising initiatives/events with the team.
• Build and manage the fundraising programme and pipeline.

Donor Communications

• Own the communications calendar and delivery (newsletters, e-shots, key messaging) and steward donor relationships.
• Develop targeted mailing lists; oversee social media and core collateral/presentation updates.

Volunteer Management

• Recruit and onboard volunteers; support project, fundraising and trustee teams.
• Coordinate meetings, minutes, follow-ups and information flow; monitor the enquiries inbox.

Representation

• Act as a spokesperson and advocate for the Foundation at events and in the media.

Essential experience & skills

• Charity sector experience, especially fundraising.
• Strong organisational skills; able to juggle multiple deadlines.
• Experience managing a team and/or volunteers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Confident networker with events experience.
• Solid digital skills: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Mailchimp.

You may have thought that leprosy is an ancient Biblical disease, but today someone is diagnosed with leprosy every two minutes. It is a disease of poverty, striking the most vulnerable. Stigma and discrimination mean many people with leprosy hide their symptoms for as long as possible, living in terrible fear of what will happen to them. But without fast treatment, leprosy can cause blindness and disable hands and feet. Rejection, isolation, hopelessness. We believe that this is not how God wants people to live. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director-level communications professional with a strong background in knowledge translation of technical information to different audiences internationally. 

Reporting to the Executive Director and serving as a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the Director of Communications & Knowledge Translation will provide strategic leadership for all Health Care Without Harm Europe’s Communications and KT activities. The Director will lead exciting new digital KT initiatives in line with our new Strategy and as a key part of a small, high-performing team working at the timely intersection of health and the environment. S/he will lead and support all of the organisation’s engagement and communication with target audiences, so that they achieve maximum impact on European healthcare policy and practice in support of the organisation’s mission.

Our work across Newcastle
Volunteering Matters play a vital role supporting volunteering in Newcastle. Since 2005, we have been operating Volunteer Centre Newcastle (VCN). This service provides a wide range of support around all things volunteering to 1250+ charities, organisations, and groups locally. Each year, we also support 2500+ members of the public who are interested in volunteering and need support to get started. We also lead the Home from Hospital and Community Support project where volunteers support older people with their transition home following a hospital admission. 

In early 2025, we launched the Good Neighbours Newcastle project funded by Newcastle City Council. We deliver this project alongside our delivery partner organisation, Search Newcastle, with a second partner organisation scheduled to join in early 2026.

Good Neighbours project
We would all like to live in a place that has a sense of community, where people look out for their neighbours. The Good Neighbours project aims to foster a feeling of positive wellbeing and independence for those who may be socially isolated, or who don’t have many people around them, giving that “little bit of help”.

The project helps people in the community feel safe, supported, and more able to live an independent life, whilst preventing, reducing and delaying the need for formal support through Adult Social Care. It also provides people the opportunity to volunteer a little time, in a flexible way, to make a difference in their own community. We know volunteering can lead to enhanced skills, and positive wellbeing. Volunteers provide practical or social support, completing “one-off’ or short-term tasks, supporting a neighbour.  This includes tasks like collecting essentials, driving someone to a GP appointment, helping with odd jobs around the house, light gardening, or checking in with someone for a cuppa and chat. 

Role Purpose
We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and professional Project Manager to join our team in Newcastle.  The right candidate would be someone with excellent knowledge of “best practice” in Volunteer Management and with experience of establishing new and exciting volunteering programmes.

This is a senior role within our Newcastle team so it is essential that the postholder is agile, can work flexibly, is an excellent communicator, and can build strong working relationships with a range of people. 

In this role, you will:

• Lead and manage all aspects of the Good Neighbours project, meeting ambitious goals, ensuring all volunteers and beneficiaries achieve positive outcomes
   
• Lead and manage our partnerships on a day-to-day level with Search Newcastle and another local charity, to raise the profile of the project, ensuring successful delivery and ongoing development of the work
   
• Manage and lead our use of the volunteer management system, Volunteero, ensuring its effective use across our Newcastle work

 At an exciting and key stage in our journey we have the opportunity for an Operations Director to join the Oasis Youth and Community national leadership team supporting local Oasis community charities across the country.

With accountability to the CEO the Operations Director will be responsible for three key areas of work:

1. Lead key elements of policy and systems ensuring the Youth and Community function remains safe and compliant, and that local leaders and other key staff are effectively supported (including line management of People Services).

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The Events & Marketing Coordinator will play an essential role in delivering high-impact engagement activities and supporting the wider work of RABI’s Marketing and Communications team. Reporting to the Events & Engagement Manager, you’ll help coordinate the charity’s presence at a wide range of events -including agricultural shows, external affairs engagements, conferences and community activities, ensuring a consistently professional and compelling presence across England and Wales. You will play a key part in engaging with supporters, volunteers, ambassadors and the public, representing RABI with warmth and professionalism.

The role will also help collate and provide valuable marketing and content support, including supporting the capturing of photography and video for use on digital channels, assisting with the development of volunteer and ambassador case studies, and supporting CRM data collection and engagement surveys. This is an exciting, hands-on, outward-facing role suited to an organised, creative and personable team player.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Event Coordination and Delivery

• Assist with the organisation and delivery of national and regional events including agricultural shows, external affairs events, volunteer engagement activities and community outreach initiatives.
• Support event logistics such as venue booking, catering, AV, signage, promotional materials, staffing, travel, and health and safety compliance.
• Coordinate post-event evaluation, collecting feedback, attendance data, and impact measures to inform future planning.
• Maintain and update a comprehensive events calendar.

Marketing and Promotional Support

• Work with the MarComms team to coordinate event and show related content for social media, digital platforms and printed collateral.
• Ensure all events, shows and conferences are added to RABI’s website and online calendar.
• Assist with design and distribution of promotional materials, using templates in Canva and maintaining brand consistency.
• Help to prepare pre-event and post-event communications including invitations, newsletters and thank-you communications.
• Manage and maintain an up-to-date inventory of promotional stock and branded materials.
• Support the wider MarComms team on cross-department projects and campaigns.

Stakeholder, Volunteer and Ambassador Engagement

• Liaise with internal colleagues and external partners to ensure smooth event operations and representation.

• Provide on-site support at key events, acting as a friendly and informed ambassador for RABI.

Administrative and Reporting Duties

• Support the Events Manager with budget tracking and processing of invoices and expenses.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.

In this role you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the accuracy, compliance and integrity of our accounts while helping colleagues across the Gallery make confident financial decisions and deliver world-class exhibitions and programmes.

Working closely with the Director of Finance and departmental heads you will prepare monthly management accounts, consolidations and statutory returns and support budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning. You will also play a key role in developing financial processes and systems, supporting funding applications and ensuring compliance with charity and donor requirements making a real impact on the smooth running and success of the Gallery.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts for Whitechapel Gallery and Whitechapel Gallery Ventures.
• Prepare monthly consolidated accounts, including income & expense reports, balance sheets, and cash flow.
• Ensure the integrity of financial data through monthly review of transactions and correct coding to nominals and departments.

We are recruiting for Service Manager who is passionate about supporting survivors who are impacted by domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes.  This is a multifaceted, fast paced, and exciting role where you will join our team in Hounslow & Hillingdon to lead on the delivery and development of high-quality refuge services for survivors of domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes. Our service provision in Hounslow & Hillingdon includes number of refuges supporting survivors and their children.

The post holder will provide line management and support to the accommodation based services staff. This will include providing supervision on complex and high-risk cases, overseeing operational emergencies, and ensuring high standards of casework. You will also ensure that all service users in refuges always receive a high-quality support service in line with Refuge’s policies and procedures.

The Service Manager will lead on the delivery of the multiagency aspect of work, working jointly with the Refuge teams and wider stakeholders to deliver best services to the survivors.

Candidates must have proven experience of providing direct emotional and practical support to vulnerable people, managing, and motivating staff, managing casework as well as working within multiagency setting.  In addition, you must have an excellent knowledge of domestic abuse and other gender-based violence and its impact on survivors.  

You will have knowledge of relevant Criminal and Civil law legislation, as well as Housing and Health and Safety legislation.   

As member of the management team, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call management service.

The service manager will be responsible for ensuring that contractual and other funding requirements are met fully, this includes ensuring that the services operate within the allocated budget and that Refuge’s high-quality standards are maintained. The role may involve visiting potential sites and contributing to the establishment of new services in conjunction with the development team.
