As our Engagement Lead, you will work with the Head of Wellbeing to review, evolve and drive forward the way we bring young people into our services at OTR.

Alongside your team you will proactively engage young people with the work we do. Working alongside our Lead Counsellors, you will develop OTR’s assessment processes, ensuring that young people are being offered appropriate services for their needs and that staff are well prepared to work with the people they support.

Shades is a racial justice and faith project that supports schools and churches to be a place of belonging and flourishing for everyone. St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. Job Summary

Young Responders is an exciting project that started delivering street first aid sessions during 2023 as part of St John Ambulance. The project was created to engage and empower young people from diverse communities who face the greatest health inequities to become active health citizens, through practical physical first aid and mental awareness sessions relevant to the challenges they face. 

The programme is aimed at young people aged 11 to 25, who would not typically come through our doors delivering first aid training to young people from under-served communities. In 2023 the Young Responders team delivered session to almost 16,000 Young People and over 2024 they aim to reach a further 20,000 Young People, if not more. 

Working as part of the team as a Facilitator you will support the growth of the service and be responsible for directly leading and delivering first aid training sessions with community organisations and educational settings. This role will also offer pastoral support to our growing Volunteer team offering mentoring and guidance to those delivering sessions supporting their welfare and wellbeing. 

This is a 35 hours per week role and we are looking for someone who is empathetic and feels passion about supporting Young People. The role is to cover London so travel is essential. 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Experience in Youth Work or working with young people in a community context
• Experience of planning and/or the delivery of community-based training
• Experience of safeguarding and willing to undertake Safeguarding training relevant to the role
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, verbally and in writing
• Understanding of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and issues around social mobility
• Ability to work well in a team and able to motivate young people and volunteers
• Due to the nature of the role you will need to hold a full, UK driving licence (maximum 6 points) and have access to your own vehicle

About the Role 

• Work collaboratively with the Project Coordinators to plan the delivery of young responder first aid sessions in the community
• Work with the Partnerships Manager to identify and build partnerships with local organisations and educational settings to support project delivery
• Engage with a range of stakeholders both internally and externally to St John Ambulance
• Liaise with the Delivery Teams to promote the project in the community
• Effectively provide pastoral support and guidance to the Volunteer team to ensure their welfare and wellbeing
• Be aware of the contextual safeguarding issues that might arise, raising concerns and supporting young people in accordance with St John Ambulance policy
• Ensure training sessions held in the community are risk assessed and registered as per current St John Ambulance procedures

At London City Mission, we estimate that one in two Londoners, that’s roughly 4.5 million people, are unlikely to hear the gospel in their lifetime. It’s clear throughout the Bible that God has a heart for people who are marginalised and overlooked. And tragically, it’s often in London’s most deprived communities that people are least likely to hear the invitation to repentance and eternal hope in Jesus. 

At London City Mission, we are partnering with churches who have a growing passion for reaching out to the communities around them, but who need equipping and building up for this crucial work. Our aim over the next five years is to see 150 new missional teams established in churches across London. These missional teams are groups of church members who take responsibility for a ministry to a community who may not otherwise hear about Jesus, are affirmed and publicly supported by the church leadership, pray for each other and for the people they want to invite to follow Christ, using their different gifts regularly to reach people who are part of this community. We pray that, together by 2029, these teams will be part of 25,000 gospel conversations within communities where Jesus Christ isn't known. The Missionary role is, therefore, a Church mobilisation role.

We are seeking candidates for Missionary roles who have a passion for sharing the good news of Jesus with specific groups of Londoners, and who can also come alongside churches to train and inspire Christian believers to reach their local communities with the hope of the gospel.

Successful candidates will minister in – but not restricted to - the following locations:  

• Tower Hamlets team with a specialist focus on Islam & Other Religions*

They will also need to be able to raise ministry personal support, including a target financial support as well as prayer supporters for the work of the Mission through personal and church partnership networks.

This position is a full-time, permanent appointment. Starting salary is £22,045 per annum plus £1,200 per month housing allowance (taxable). We are seeking a passionate, connected and well-organised leader, to manage and develop our Church Engagement team and mission with UK churches, networks, community groups and volunteers. The Church Engagement team sits within the External Engagement Department, which covers areas including communications, publications and resources, press and media, digital content and marketing, fundraising appeals, church engagement, events and volunteers. Teams work closely together on shared activities to ensure that the strategy is connected and delivers a coherent public message, maximising every potential opportunity to increase income and deepen understanding and engagement. Other office staff include those focused on operations and finance, as well as a small Development Team engaging with major donors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will allow you to make a real difference to the lives of millions of people in the Middle East and North Africa.  You will help to manage, maintain and increase income and engagement through the following key responsibilities:

·Work with the team to implement strategies for growing key areas of income and engagement with churches and individuals, maintaining prospect lists, communicating with churches to resource and increase engagement.

·To manage, motivate and support a diverse team in different geographical locations and working patterns.

·To assist with delivering the church partnership and media projects programme, inviting church leaders and churches to join, helping research, prepare and send project proposals, reports and associated resources.

·To analyse current church giving patterns and identify pathways to increase engagement, levels and forms of giving (including individual giving in conjunction with other team members).

·Support with high-level giving church relationships and work with the Engagement Officer to mobilise ambassadors and volunteers within churches to encourage prayer for the MENA and church giving.

·Oversee SAT-7’s presence at events and conferences to maximise opportunities for engagement and increased reach with existing and new supporters.

·To assist with identifying current and future engagement resources to inspire and mobilise supporter churches and wider opportunities with denominations and Christian networks.

·Lead regular one to ones and promote the process of SAT-7 UK’s personal development plans for team members throughout the year e.g. conducting appraisals and mid-year reviews.

We are recruiting a General Advice Officer to support with the delivery of advice and welfare support to vulnerable guests who access the Community Wellbeing Service, a local support hub offering relief from the rising cost of living for local families. The General Advice Officer will support our guests on a range of areas including benefits, immigration, housing, money management and access to training and employment services. The postholder will provide high quality welfare advice and guidance through weekly one-to-one advice sessions, undertake case work, work with partners to facilitate referrals, and provide support to advice volunteers. 

The successful candidate must have at least two years’ experience delivering effective advice or in a similar capacity, demonstrate empathy, an understanding of the issues facing vulnerable people, and have in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of welfare benefits and housing policies/legislations, with a strong focus on achieving tangible outcomes for our guests.

Advice Work

• Carry out assessments to identify urgent needs and appropriate support pathways for members at the Community Wellbeing Service.
• Support outreach or community engagement activities as needed.
• Provide holistic and person-centred advice and casework on the main enquiry areas, particularly welfare benefits, housing, employment, health and wellbeing, immigration and money management.
• Maintain Sufra’s Advice Quality Standards and meeting tangible outcomes.
• Produce detailed case records on our case management system for the purpose of continuity, statistical monitoring and report preparation

We are recruiting a high energy and hands on Garden Manager to work closely with the Senior Leadership team at Sufra to support the development and expansion of the community garden, and manage the team of garden staff and volunteers. This is an exciting time in the development of St. Raphael’s Edible Garden, as we are looking for an experienced Garden Manager to oversee the next steps in the development of the site, deliver a range of learning outcomes and fully implement, manage and further develop all aspects of the garden project.

Alongside practical educational outdoor experience, the successful candidate will understand how to design educational programmes that are accessible and engaging for a range of audiences, including school children and young people, adults with additional needs, and wider community. Project management and organisational skills are also essential. This is an immensely rewarding role working in a dynamic charity built on an ethos of sharing, hospitality and inclusivity, that would suit a committed individual who is willing to go the extra mile. Community Engagement Manager

This is an opportunity for you to draw on your knowledge of criminal justice healthcare and play a key role in the delivery of the first Patient and Public Voice service for the families of patients in London prisons. Your role will work across London prisons to develop the mechanisms by which family voices can create change and inform practice.

You will be confident at ‘opening doors’ and quick to form collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that all families have the opportunity to have their voice heard. This role is a great fit for someone who is energetic and committed and has a passion for working directly with local communities and supporting the delivery of effective participation. DBS check and prison vetting will be required for the successful applicant.

Salary: £36,720 pro rata

Camden’s Integrated Drug and Alcohol service is offering an incredible opportunity for individuals with lived experience of homelessness and/or substance use to join a pioneering team supporting others in their recovery journey. With one year of funding secured, we are seeking two passionate and dynamic individuals to take on specialist roles, based at both treatment sites and within Camden hostels. These roles will also involve working alongside the In-reach team and the Specialist Women’s team, allowing you to make a tangible impact on the lives of clients by helping to shape and enhance services for those who need them most. You will be a familiar, trusted face, guiding clients through their recovery journey, empowering them to access treatment and overcome barriers, while contributing your own insights to ensure services are truly supportive and accessible.

In these roles, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in trauma informed interventions, working alongside expert practitioners to transform how clients experience treatment. The focus is on creating safe, welcoming spaces for individuals to seek help without fear of further harm or trauma, while also engaging in meaningful activities that inspire positive change in their lives.
