The Face to Face Fundraising Operations Executive will be responsible for supporting the logistics and administration of the F2F Fundraising programme and planning and organising our calendar of F2F fundraising events.
This is a key role in supporting the delivery of the strategic objective of growing and diversifying our calendar of events, venues, private site and experiential Fundraising to reach a wider and diverse audience of supporters.
Location/base: This role will be based from home, but with an office ‘hub’ for collaborative team meetings.
Key Accountabilities:
- Work with the team to identify and book fundraising opportunities, build relationships with external contacts and create and coordiante our annual events calandar for existing and new F2F Fundraising venues for private site fundraising from Garden centres, festivals, exhibitions to shopping centres and any new creative opportunities. This includes making phone calls, holding meetings, negotiating on cost and working to budget.
- Support the F2F Fundraising managers to coordinate and book their winter calendar of fundraising events and private sites.
- Research and source quotes and negotiate with providers to ensure the best price for the design and production of exhibition panels, stretched fabric wraps and shell scheme branded exhibition materials that fit in with the theme of the events attended (this can include Gazebo’s, roller banners, pull-up banners and wraps for pop-up counters), working closely with our Marketing Team to ensure brand integrity.
- Support the tracking of all stock items and equipment used by the teams. Re-order materials, track, report and control costs to agreed budget. Arrange the distribution of stock and materials and undertake regular auditing and stock control processes including regular National stock takes. Order uniforms and oversee the new hires and leavers process for the distribution, retrieval and recording of Trust items. this includes coordinating the management of starters and leavers equipment.
- Support with recruitment of new starters and onboarding administration including coordinating with key stakeholders in HR, IT & Health and Safety for account and platform setups. Including the monitoring and administration of the team staff trackers, including DBS check, training confirmations and new starter retention rates.
- Ensure any CRM cases and complaints associated with the F2F team are responded to effectively, working with relevant team members to provide best practice responses.
- Displaying the Trust values and behaviours at all times.
- Ensuring that diversity and inclusion are integrated into all aspects of Trust life and promoting inclusion by challenging behaviour, practices, actions, or decisions that are counter to the objectives of the Trust’s policies and values.
Qualifications and Attainments
- Experience of booking venues and events where sales, marketing or fundraising teams are generating income.
Work experience
- Experience in face-to-face fundraising is desirable.
- Experience in administration.
- Experience of project management / coordination of multiple events programme.
- Experience in venue and site booking.
- A good knowledge of the codes of best practice set out by the Fundraising Regulator & Institute of Fundraising.

The Thomson Reuters Foundation (TRF) is the corporate foundation of Thomson Reuters, the global news and information services company. As an independent charity we work to advance media freedom, foster more inclusive economies, and promote human rights. We combine our unique media development and legal services to drive systemic change through news, capacity strengthening, free legal assistance, and convening initiatives.
TRF provides a Secretariat function to the Media Freedom Coalition (MFC). The MFC is a partnership of 51 countries from six continents working together to advocate for media freedom and the safety of journalists at home and abroad. The MFC works closely with civil society and a panel of legal experts, among others, to promote media freedom through a range of activities – including public and private diplomacy to support journalists at risk, coordinated action through embassies, events and the promotion of legal reforms. The MFC was established in 2019 while the Secretariat was established in 2022. More information about the MFC can be found here.
The MFC Secretariat plays a central role in maximising the impact of the Coalition. It does this in four areas:

Administration and operations: engaging with and supporting members of the Coalition; delivering activities including events and briefings; coordinating responses to cases of concern (in which journalists and news organisations are facing threats to their reporting); supporting embassies to act on media freedom; organizing meetings and maintaining the MFC’s network of contacts;

Communications: communicating the MFC’s activities and impact externally, via website, social media and mainstream media coverage; supporting public-facing events; keeping the MFC’s network informed about activities and opportunities to take action;

Policies and strategy: ensuring policies and processes are in place to facilitate an efficient, effective and responsive coalition; supporting strategic decision making; monitoring the latest developments in the media freedom context;

We are seeking an organized and resourceful Project Manager to join our team. The Project Manager will lead on two key areas of the Secretariat’s work: (1) supporting and facilitating the MFC’s work on cases of concern, in which journalists and media workers are under threat, and (2) promoting greater engagement with diverse member countries of the MFC.
As part of the role you will interact with a wide range of government officials, civil society experts and legal experts from different parts of the world and establish improved processes for MFC interventions and engagement. The ideal candidate will be able to take the initiative while working collaboratively and will have excellent problem-solving skills. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to deepen their engagement in the media freedom, human rights and/or democracy fields through working with leading experts and cutting-edge issues.
The role is based in Canary Wharf in London. The role is full time and you would be expected to attend TRF’s offices two or more days per week.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract (depending on availability). The contract may be extended beyond this, conditional on further funds being secured for the Secretariat’s continued operation.We expect the 12-month term of the contract will result in tangible and meaningful outcomes, such as improvements to processes and strategy, and more engaged member countries.

About The Role
As the Project Manager you will:

Oversee and manage the MFC’s Secretariat’s work on cases of concern, looking for ways to optimize the speed, relevance and impact of MFC interventions while ensuring that they do no harm

Improve processes on cases of concern in collaboration with government and civil society colleagues
-
Build relationships with a range of MFC member countries in multiple regions, explore their needs, and develop and deliver bespoke support packages as applicable

Identify case studies of interesting work by member countries on media freedom, and pass these on to the Secretariat’s Communications Manager for development into communications materials

Contribute to strategic decision making on how to engage member countries and build a stronger Coalition

Stay abreast of developments in the field of media freedom, particularly regarding media freedom cases of concern and media freedom developments within member countries

Ensure sound record-keeping and lesson-learning from case interventions and member engagement

Contribute to grant management, reporting, and donor relations where needed

Work closely and collaboratively with the remainder of the Secretariat team and MFC stakeholders including the MFC co-chairs and Executive Group, Consultative Network, High Level Panel of Legal Experts on Media Freedom, and UNESCO

Summary of the role
This is an exciting new role at Just Like Us which has been created due to the significant growth of corporate partnership fundraising, which now makes up almost half of the charity’s annual income. Just Like Us is proud to have fantastic support from over 20 companies who support us in a variety of ways, including through grants, cause-related marketing and CSR initiatives. As the Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining funding partnerships with companies, and stakeholders to grow fundraising income and support the mission and initiatives of Just Like Us. About Just Like Us
Just Like Us is the LGBT+ young people’s charity. Founded in 2016, we work with primary schools, secondary schools and sixth form colleges across the UK to improve the lives of LGBT+ young people. To do that, we run three programmes:

Ambassador Programme: We train LGBT+ 18 to 25 year olds to speak in secondary schools about growing up LGBT+ and allyship. We support our ambassadors to use their voice, develop skills and find community.

School Diversity Week: We run the UK-wide celebration of LGBT+ equality in primary and secondary schools. We provide free educational resources to thousands of schools, making LGBT+ inclusive education accessible to all.

Pride Groups: We help secondary schools set up and run lunchtime or after school clubs for LGBT+ pupils and their allies to meet, learn and get support.

A range of fresh expressions of Church (messy church, café church, arts-based projects, digital spaces etc.) are nurtured without neglecting the other, more traditional, expressions and all are equally valued.
We exist primarily to advance the mission of the Methodist Church in our District by supporting churches and circuits (a circuit is a group of churches served by a team, including one or more ministers). The District seeks to support each circuit and church to meet the needs of their members and the communities in which they serve, offering opportunities to worship, work and learn together.
