About the role

We are looking for an experienced Head of People to deliver both strategic leadership and operational excellence across all people functions.
Leading a team of 11, you will provide strategic business partnering and support across the organisation, ensuring the quality of experience and wellbeing of everyone that works at Parkinson’s UK, driving forward a culture of listening, and supporting our people to embrace and deliver change.
What you’ll do:

Lead, coach, mentor and develop the People team and People Partners to deliver the operational and strategic people requirements across the entire people portfolio

Work in partnership and provide coaching, direction and support to Executive members (including the CEO) and leaders to enable them to deliver their teams plans and strategies
-
Provide professional people advice, guidance and support with an up to date employment law input on a wide range of strategic and operational people issues. This will include leading on complex areas of change and providing guidance on employee relations cases

Manage the people and establishment budgets and plans, setting the annual process ensuring effective financial control through the monitoring and review of the monthly management accounts.

Work in partnership with the Associate Director of People & Culture in delivering the strategic agenda, People & Culture Strategy.
What you’ll bring:

Proven experience working as a People lead that includes, strategic Business Partnering and organisational change and restructures

Demonstrable experience of managing complex employee relations issues including disciplinaries, grievances, appeals and performance management. This includes ETs and the interpretation of legislation for the purposes of internal policies and advice

Proven experience of coaching and leading teams of professionals

Experience of influencing and challenging executives within an organisational setting

Ability to resolve difficult situations and problems that are people focused with proven attributes and approaches to reach logical, fair and inclusive outcomes

You’ll be working on direct marketing campaigns that engage and inspire people to donate. And make it as easy as possible for them to choose the way they give. As part of the team, you’ll be innovative in a changing fundraising and external environment, to achieve ambitious annual income targets.
You’ll assist with and, when required, project manage direct marketing activities through campaign, project, and agency and supplier management in order to retain existing donors and acquire new ones. To ensure everyone feels good about their donation.
This role will primarily have a focus on cash appeals and raffl es at Parkinson’s UK.
What you’ll do
- Assist with and, when required, project manage direct marketing campaigns, both online and offl ine, maximising income through acquisition and stewardship communications to secure one-off and regular gifts.
- Manage relationships with creative, print and response handling agencies working on campaigns.
- Support the Senior Individual Giving Offi cers in achieving strategic objectives, monitoring income and expenditure and using database analysis to inform and improve the individual giving programme.
- Integrate the direct marketing programme into Fundraising and Experience Directorate activities and support the overall Parkinson’s UK strategic plan.
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience of successfully scheduling and managing campaigns to deliver results against agreed objectives and targets.
- Excellent copywriting, creative and proofreading skills for both online and offl ine materials.
- Experience of operating in a modern digital workplace, including using digital tools, platforms and techniques to work collaboratively and productively.
- Ability to review and evaluate data and campaign results and pull out key trends to inform future work.

Parkinson’s UK is seeking a Clinical Lead for Therapy for the Parkinson’s UK Excellence Network national Clinical Leadership Team
We’re recruiting a Parkinson’s specialist therapist to join the Network’s national Clinical Leadership Team on a consultancy basis. The Clinical Leadership Team provides strategic guidance and clinical expertise to Parkinson’s UK and the members of the team are ambassadors for the Excellence Network.
You would be joining a group of experts from different backgrounds: doctors, specialist nurses, and members of the Parkinson’s community, all actively working towards the vision of high quality multidisciplinary care for everyone with Parkinson's.

Who can apply?
Any experienced UK-based Parkinson’s specialist therapist, with exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills.
You’ll have a good understanding of the landscape of health and social care delivery, education and workforce development to support the strategic aims and objectives of Parkinson’s UK.
Time commitment: 0.5 days per week (1 programmed activity) to be worked flexibly across the month.
Remuneration: monthly rate based on skills and experience.
Term of consultancy services: 3 years from date of appointment, with an option to extend for a further 3 years.

Provide support on a variety of health and social care issues, including appropriate emotional, employment and welfare benefits support and advocating with and on behalf of clients.

Work closely with clinicians, specialist nurses and other professional colleagues to raise the profile of the service, increase depth of support and achieve improved outcomes for people with Parkinson’s.
What you'll bring:

Experience of managing and delivering individual case work, including advocating for clients and supporting people to navigate the health and social care system

About the role
You’ll use your quality improvement expertise to support health & care professionals with projects and programmes, equipping them with the latest tools, resources, evidence and data to develop and improve services for people with Parkinson’s.
You’ll support the development of a vibrant national network, working in collaboration with the Professional Engagement team and the regional clinical leads. You’ll also work with health and care professionals and Parkinson’s UK colleagues to respond to any threats to Parkinson's services and effect positive change.
This role is being advertised on a fixed term, 12 month contract.
What you’ll do

Facilitate health and care service redesign and improvement projects in collaboration with clinicians, Parkinson’s UK staff and people living with Parkinson’s and drawing on the principles of co-production

Build relationships to influence service improvement across North East England and Yorkshire, and support the development of a vibrant national network

Maximise participation in the UK Parkinson's Audit and relevant surveys

Support health & care services to develop and implement service improvement plans, using the results of the UK Parkinson's Audit as a lever

Promote the Excellence network funding opportunities, providing support where appropriate with the development of business cases and grant applications
What you’ll bring

Since last year, we have been gradually launching our new Excellence Network regional clinical lead roles across England as part of our new regional model in England. We're now recruiting for the final regional clinical lead in England to lead their regional network in London.
In September 2024, the Parkinson’s UK Excellence Network (PEN) moved to a new regional model in England and introduced the 7 newly-formed PEN regions in England, with the boundaries aligned to the 7 NHS England regions. Click here to read more about the new model.
The regional model in the devolved nations remains the same: there are 3 regions in Scotland, 2 in Wales and 1 region in Northern Ireland.
Last year we began gradually recruiting the consultancy services of regional clinical leads in each of the 7 regions in England, to help us deliver this new model.
By the end of 2024, we were delighted to have appointed 4 regional clinical leads. We welcomed Antonella Macerollo and Sarah Fraser in the north west and north east and Yorkshire, respectively. You can find out more about Antonella and Sarah here.
So far in 2025, Alistair Mackett and Emily Henderson joined us in January as the regional clinical leads for the east of England and south west. Read more about Alistair and Emily here.
