The Senior Events Fundraising Officer role will be responsible for project managing some of our flagship challenge events, including the ‘Raid’ cycling series, and increasing the level of community support and income through the pro-active engagement with and excellent stewardship of high net worth individuals, community groups, committees, companies and supporters from the Parkinson’s community across the UK.
You will be an active networker and be able to spot opportunities to raise funds and maximise income growth through supporter led and event fundraising.
You will have demonstrable success in community and/or challenge events fundraising, a solid understanding of supporter led fundraising and Facebook challenges, as well as a passionate and proactive approach to develop fundraising leads that deliver results.
This role is strongly focused on bringing in new community and challenge events, and will suit an outgoing, positive and professional fundraiser who is used to working on their own initiative and wants to develop their knowledge and experience.

About the Brain & Spine Foundation
One in six people in the UK is affected by a neurological condition. This includes dementia, stroke, motor neurone disease, neuromuscular diseases, brain cancers, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis and epilepsy to name just a few. That is over 12 million individuals who have experienced or are living with a condition or symptom that may have life-changing, and often life-long effects. The Brain & Spine Foundation is a national charity working to improve the quality of life of people affected by a neurological condition.
About the role
This role will focus 60% of your time efficiently managing the administration of the Engagement team and providing support across all areas of fundraising. 40% of your focus will be leading our Ambassador programme (a network of volunteers that represent the Brain & Spine community in their local areas) and community fundraising.
About you
You’ll have at least one year of experience within a fundraising or charity environment. Your organisation skills and attention to detail will help keep our busy team running smoothly. You will be someone who is friendly, helpful and approachable, who is passionate about giving our supporters the best possible experience of fundraising and volunteering. You will have an interest in social media and digital engagement, and be capable of bringing new ideas. You’ll be a proactive team player with excellent communication and people skills who is capable of managing a busy workload.

We’re working to build and grow a powerful movement of people to transform the experience of people living with Parkinson’s. A big part of how we will do that is by engaging and mobilising our supporters through a wide variety of channels.
You’ll develop plans to ensure all supporter care and fundraising administration work is implemented on time and to high standards, whilst also providing leadership and guidance to the Supporter Care Officers, including allocation of work and opportunities for development such as project work.

In this unique role you'll provide full professional business support to our Research and Corporate Services directorates. This is a permanent, full-time role working 35 hours per week. Your workload will be split 21 hours per week with Research and 14 hours per week with Corporate Services.
You’ll be based at the UK Office, London (Victoria), with occasional working from home.
What you’ll do:
- Provide administrative and practical support, acting as the first point of contact as and when required, responding to common queries or signposting as appropriate.
- Coordinate team meetings, circulate agendas and make meeting notes.

Focusing on high volume donations under £1000, we use analysis and insight to deliver a variety of direct marketing activities that recruit new donors and ensure everyone can see the impact of their kind contribution.
What you’ll do
Assist with and, when required, project manage direct marketing campaigns, both online and offline, to maximise income through one-off and regular gifts.
Manage day-to-day relationships with external agencies and suppliers.
Support the Senior Individual Giving Officers to achieve strategic objectives, monitor income and expenditure budgets and use database analysis to inform and improve the direct marketing programme.
