We’re recruiting for a Senior Individual Giving Officer to join our team, on a fixed term maternity cover contract, for approx 12 months.
We proudly raise money to help improve life for people with Parkinson’s and the people in their lives. Our work helps to fund everything from promising research, to providing personalised support for everyone with Parkinson’s, to campaigns fighting for better support for people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones.
About the role
You’ll be working on direct marketing campaigns and leading a strategic area of fundraising, to engage and inspire people to donate. And you’ll make it as easy as possible for supporters to choose the way they want to give. You’ll be part of a team that champions and supports each other, and is innovative in a changing fundraising and external environment to achieve our annual income target of over £5 million.
Focusing on high volume donations under £1000, we use analysis and insight to deliver a variety of direct marketing activities that recruit new donors and ensure everyone can see the impact of their kind contribution.
What you’ll do:

Support the Individual Giving Manager to help set strategic objectives, monitor income and expenditure and use database analysis to inform the individual giving programme.

Plan, create and manage direct marketing campaigns, both online and offline, and lead a strategic area of fundraising to secure donations

Work with the Individual Giving Officers, delegating work and championing their development. There may also be an opportunity to line manage an Individual Giving Officer.

Monitor income and expenditure budgets and use database analysis to inform and improve the direct marketing programme.

Ensure that the direct marketing programme is integrated into Fundraising & Experience Directorate activities and supports the overall Parkinson’s UK strategic plan

Use digital tools to manage email and online communications.
What you’ll bring:

Strong experience of managing Individual Giving or direct marketing activity with substantial income and expenditure budgets.

Proven success in donor or customer acquisition and retention through direct marketing.

Substantial experience of creating engaging and inspiring online materials in support of direct marketing campaigns.

Strong experience of using CMS and email platforms, ideally Marketing Cloud.

Experience working with PPC, digital ads and social media to acquire donors

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Head of People to deliver both strategic leadership and operational excellence across all people functions.
Leading a team of 11, you will provide strategic business partnering and support across the organisation, ensuring the quality of experience and wellbeing of everyone that works at Parkinson’s UK, driving forward a culture of listening, and supporting our people to embrace and deliver change.
What you’ll do:

Lead, coach, mentor and develop the People team and People Partners to deliver the operational and strategic people requirements across the entire people portfolio

Work in partnership and provide coaching, direction and support to Executive members (including the CEO) and leaders to enable them to deliver their teams plans and strategies

Provide professional people advice, guidance and support with an up to date employment law input on a wide range of strategic and operational people issues. This will include leading on complex areas of change and providing guidance on employee relations cases

Manage the people and establishment budgets and plans, setting the annual process ensuring effective financial control through the monitoring and review of the monthly management accounts.

Work in partnership with the Associate Director of People & Culture in delivering the strategic agenda, People & Culture Strategy.
What you’ll bring:

Proven experience working as a People lead that includes, strategic Business Partnering and organisational change and restructures

Demonstrable experience of managing complex employee relations issues including disciplinaries, grievances, appeals and performance management. This includes ETs and the interpretation of legislation for the purposes of internal policies and advice

Proven experience of coaching and leading teams of professionals
-
Experience of influencing and challenging executives within an organisational setting

Ability to resolve difficult situations and problems that are people focused with proven attributes and approaches to reach logical, fair and inclusive outcomes

As well as flexible working hours, this role is offered on a flexible contract giving you the opportunity to also work from home up to two days a week. You’ll be required to cover your own travel expenses to the office.

Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for the end-to-end management of the Legacy Marketing Programme, including Gifts in Wills
- In collaboration with the Individual Giving and Philanthropy Manager, develop and evolve the Legacy Marketing Programme, including In Memory and Tribute Fund marketing, in alignment to the Charity’s mission and strategic goals
- Execute and further develop a comprehensive legacy strategy, with a focus on retention and income growth through, tested supporter journeys, digital channels and automation. Planning for journeys to end with a gift in a will
- Optimise and create supporter journeys to increase propensity to give and drive loyalty and consideration among legacy and individual giving prospects
- Responsible for aligning legacy acquisition and retention marketing to the individual giving programme, to maximise uptake and engagement. In conjunction with their manager, work together to develop new ideas and best practices to improve the number of legacy pledges and the income from In Memory fundraising to increase annual gift amounts
- Achieve income targets that support the delivery of fundraising goals aimed at delivering in excess of £3m+ per annum
- Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and evaluate multi-channel fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, email, and social media, to maximize giving. Keep track of results and flag under or over performance in a timely manner
