Volunteers are vital to Parkinson’s UK; they provide highly valued support and services through local branches, groups, and cafes. This rewarding role provides the opportunity to work directly with volunteers, together making a positive difference to the lives of people affected by Parkinson’s.

About the role: 

You’ll act as the main point of contact and support for volunteers in local branches, groups, and cafes. As part of an integrated regional team you’ll contribute to shared plans and priorities. 

Working remotely and in person, you’ll provide the highest quality customer care and support volunteers in line with the charity’s governance requirements, as well as our policies and procedures. You’ll provide high quality business support to colleagues to promote volunteering opportunities and bring volunteers together in the local community.

• Strong volunteer support skills and an ability to work in a user-focused and inclusive way 
• Experience of volunteer recruitment, induction and training 
• Ability to manage and prioritise own workload whilst working collaboratively across a dispersed team of colleagues and volunteers 
• Proven ability to take a solution focused approach, supporting with queries raised by volunteers 
• Ability to confidently support group volunteers with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting

About the role

You’ll mobilise people to become part of a growing community, taking action to improve the lives of everyone affected by Parkinson's. You’ll lead collaboration, joint planning, shared ownership and delivery of area plans to develop a people powered movement, uniting everyone behind a common vision. 

You’ll be responsible for driving forward the charity’s strategic plans, working with the vision of the community in a designated geographical area.  You’ll grow, facilitate and inspire a movement of people that is supported to have a positive impact and is reflective of the local community.

• Be accountable for developing, overseeing delivery and evaluation of the local community development plan
• Create an inclusive model of feedback and collaboration that increases participation and involvement across diverse communities 
• Source and analyse validated data and local intelligence to support the  community to make informed decisions about priorities and evaluate interventions
• Build and develop local partnerships, collaborations, coalitions in order to achieve innovative and creative responses with positive outcomes that will meet identified needs

About the role

You’ll empower your clients to take actions for themselves or will advocate on their behalf for better service, support and outcomes, so they can live their life with Parkinson's in the way they choose.

You’ll deliver tailored information and support through a range of channels including telephone, video and email and, where appropriate, home visits and in community settings.

You’ll be responsible for building excellent relationships with healthcare professionals and other relevant agencies, as well as our network of volunteers and groups.

What you'll do:

• Provide professional person centred, in depth support to clients by a range of means, ensuring the most efficient and effective use of resources.

• Provide support on a variety of health and social care issues, including appropriate emotional, employment and welfare benefits support and advocating with and on behalf of clients. 

• Work flexibly across the service responding to enquiries through a range of channels.

• Work closely with clinicians, specialist nurses and other professional colleagues to raise the profile of the service, increase depth of support and achieve improved outcomes for people with Parkinson’s.

What you'll bring: 

• Experience of managing and delivering individual case work, including advocating for clients and supporting people to navigate  the health and social care system 

• Experience and understanding of safeguarding and your role in keeping clients safe and  implementing organisational policies and procedure

• Ability to be calm and use emotional intelligence in challenging casework

• Demonstrable digital competence, with experience of effective use of a range of tools including online case management systems

• The ability to build effective working relationships with others including working within multi disciplinary teams internally and externally

People living with Parkinson's need to have their voice heard in Scotland to ensure their health and care needs are met.  Following an investment in our services, support and work with the NHS, we are also expanding our campaigning and policy work across Scotland and the rest of the UK.

We’re looking for someone special with experience of campaigning, including an understanding of its basic tools and techniques, experience of interpreting complex policy issues for a public audience, and knowledge of the Scottish political and public policy landscape. 

About the role 

You’ll support our national and local campaigning work across Scotland to improve the lives of people with Parkinson’s and those closest to them. As part of our dynamic and committed Scotland team, you’ll listen to the needs of our local communities and work with colleagues across the charity to deliver focussed political campaigning work. 

You’ll work with  our community to raise awareness and increase knowledge about Parkinson’s with decision makers at a local and national level. You’ll use your knowledge of public policy in Scotland and the UK to make sure that the voices of people with Parkinson’s, their partners, family members and friends are heard, and help to drive changes that improve their lives. 

What you’ll do:

• Be a first point of contact for campaigners in Scotland, who want to improve services in their local area, and recruit and manage a sustainable network of local campaign volunteers specific to Scotland.

• Support the work of the Policy and Campaigns Manager to understand and influence UK wide and Scottish specific legislation, policy and practice relating to our communities and their needs

• Provide expert advice and support to colleagues and campaigners on how best to influence decision makers in Scotland.

• Use our UK-wide campaign priorities to deliver national and local campaign activity, and coordinate campaigns with other charities and organisations, where appropriate to further our goals.

What you’ll bring:

• Strong people skills, and a commitment to putting the experiences and needs of people affected by Parkinson’s at the centre of your work 

• Excellent written and oral communication and an ability to produce inspiring content to motivate others, and the ability to network and manage supportive relationships with volunteers, MSPs and a range of external organisations

• Experience of managing a varied workload and working to tight deadlines, with excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise. 

• Experience in organising events for relevant stakeholders

About the role 

You’ll provide high quality admin support to the Midlands team, coordinate, plan and prep key meetings, and provide first point contact for both internal and external stakeholders. Including working coproductively with people living with Parkinson’s.

As members of the Community Directorate we aim to reach out to and support people with Parkinson’s, their families, friends and carers.  We enable the voice of people affected by Parkinson’s to be heard to improve services, inform our priorities and improve decision making locally.

Through community development we work in close collaboration with our respective Parkinson’s communities to bring change on the issues that matter most to people affected by Parkinson’s

What you’ll do:

• Organise online and in-person, internal and external meetings and other events, including booking venues and refreshments, assisting with the production of materials, liaising with participants and speakers, fulfilling mailings and taking bookings as required

• Keep up to date with the directorate’s activities in order to provide clear, accurate information, and support the process of business performance and impact reporting

We're looking for an experienced learning designer. Is that you? 

About the role 

You’ll be a key member of the Education team, enabling us to equip health and care professionals across the UK with the knowledge they need to provide excellent care for people with Parkinson’s.

In developing and maintaining engaging, innovative online courses and resources, you’ll work closely with colleagues in the Education team and subject matter experts. You’ll use your specialist learning or instructional design experience to ensure our online education offer is based on sound pedagogical practice and focuses directly on meeting learner need.

What you’ll do 

• Apply the tools, principles and practice of learning design to plan, develop and maintain engaging online courses and resources about Parkinson’s and Parkinsonism for professional audiences
• Work closely with the Education Lead to ensure our education offer is sector-leading, sustainable and aligned to the Charity’s strategic priorities
• Plan, manage and deliver to schedule high-quality online courses and resources, from agreeing learning outcomes to go-live
• In production and maintenance work, collaborate with colleagues including subject matter experts (such as clinicians in the Parkinson’s Excellence Network), technical specialists and other internal colleagues
• Support the development of an effective marketing strategy for the Learning Hub, working closely with Professional Engagement, Marketing and Media team colleagues

What you’ll bring

• Experience of providing pedagogic expertise to support the development and maintenance of online learning content
• Experience of the hands-on design, testing and evaluation of online learning for professional audiences 
• Up-to-date perspectives on learning design practice and how it can be applied to professional education in the Charity sector

The role of the Senior Digital Marketing Executive is to ensure we provide a great supporter experience to any person, company or organisation who donates to the Epilepsy Society and to help the fundraising and marketing teams increase our number of supporters and fundraisers through digital acquisition.

As part of the Charity’s in-house marketing agency, you will support in responding to briefs from other departments and work closely with their teams to create and deliver marketing plans which deliver on revenue and strategic priorities. You will also work closely with multiple stakeholders, including our digital agency and the other teams within the Fundraising and Marketing Department and the wider organisation.

This role involves supporting various digital marketing initiatives, including SEO, SEM, social media marketing, email marketing, content creation, and data analytics. The postholder will be responsible for a range of tasks to support the efficient and effective running of a fundraising and marketing team dealing directly with donors at all levels to ensure they have the best donor experience. We need someone to help us to reach new people online, drive income and build an enhanced online supporter experience.
