About the role

Our team of Regional Communications Officers support Emmaus communities and groups to increase their profile and engage supporters. You will work closely with up to four Emmaus charities to identify their communications needs, plan and deliver work to help achieve their goals.

Who are we looking for?

We require someone with excellent skills and knowledge in communications, public relations and marketing with at  least two years’ experience working in a busy and varied communications role. Although not essential, knowledge and understanding of homelessness and the charity sector would also be an advantage.

Within this hybrid role, you can be based at home or in an Emmaus community. Wherever you are located, maintaining ongoing positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders is vitally important. This role will suit someone located in the South West or London as regular travel (usually at least one community visit per week) will be required to Bristol, Gloucester and London.

We are looking for 2 Mental Health Personal Independence Co-ordinator’s to join our team.

The Mental Health Personal Independence Co-ordinator (MHPIC) will work as part of the MHPIC team and will work alongside clinical and social care professionals in local multi-disciplinary teams assigned to specific GP surgeries. Each MHPIC will be assigned to a specific locality located within the Integrated Care Network Plus health and social care systems in either North, Central or South Croydon. The multi-disciplinary team learning and development during the initial two-year test period will inform the development and growth of the MHPIC team to ensure that it can support community-based mental health and wellbeing across the whole population and in all 6 Integrated Care Network Plus localities.

MHPICs will provide initial contact and assessment conversations with clients using Open Dialogue tools and techniques to enable people to develop their own Personal Recovery Plans and supporting them directly over a period of time to find and access the support and services available to them in their local community.

Each MHPIC will be the direct named key worker for a set number of people who are referred to the service by healthcare professionals, including GPs, Mental Health Practitioners & Health Care Assistants, Social Prescribers and other voluntary or community sector organisations. They will provide one-to-one support in the achievement of an individual’s recovery goals, ensuring that support is person- centred; that needs and wishes are identified by people themselves; that they have a stronger voice in relation to issues that affect their lives; and that they are supported and empowered to improve and/or maintain their mental health and wellbeing and to live their best independent lives. 

Support in the community includes home visits. The aim of home visits is to assess clients' strengths and needs and link these to agency and community resources, and to ensure that individual clients’ needs can be met within a risk-assessed policy approach.

Communications and Management

• Ensuring all grants from trusts and foundations are correctly allocated to Medair programmes, with the appropriate grant card on Medair’s project management platform and maintaining good contact with country programmes and finance partners throughout the lifecycle of Medair UK co-funded projects.

Internal Liaison  

• Liaise with Medair’s Heads of Country Programmes, Country Directors and Communications Officers in order to gather information and data for the purposes of applying and reporting to funders 

• Work collaboratively with finance colleagues in the preparation and approval of budgets and reports.

• Foster dynamic and mutually beneficial relationships with other fundraisers within Medair international and the affiliate offices, readily sharing proposals, reports and information.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Moving and Handling advisor, with an interest in working with older people, to join our established and well-regarded in-house Therapy team at Nightingale Hammerson. We’re a diverse, friendly team who are passionate about delivering exceptional services for our Jewish Residents across a full spectrum of needs through a relationship-centred care framework and within a palliative care model.

Your role will be split between delivering moving and handling training to our care teams, supporting teams on the households with moving and handling activities, carrying out complex moving and handling assessments, working as part of a multidisciplinary team and introducing service development initiatives and innovation. You’ll work holistically with a keen interest in our equipment and establish effective relationships with our external stakeholders.

You’ll have time to get to know and work collaboratively with our Residents implementing rehabilitation programmes and optimising functional ability to improve quality of life. Put simply, you will make a difference.

Our ideal candidate will be skilled in facilitating learning, supporting residents with complex needs using a range of skills and techniques, using advanced communication skills and strategies to support engagement and being confident with supporting Residents who may be frail and living with a range of medical conditions until the end of their lives. We particularly also welcome candidates with an interest in 24 hour postural support and MDT working around seating and positioning.  This role offers a mix of leadership opportunities including delivering training as well as hands on face-to-face time

1. Appropriate teaching qualification and/ or significant experience in being a manual handling trainer. 

2. Higher Level of training in Manual Handling, for example, RoSPA’s Level 3 award in Manual Handling Trainers. (Completing a train-the-trainer qualification will not be enough on its own.)

3. Liability insurance, e.g. membership of a professional body

Experience

1. Experience of working with older people living in a care setting

2. Experience of working with people with dementia

3. Significant experience of manual handling practice and training others in manual handling

4. Experience of working within the U.K. Healthcare or social care system

Job Title: Membership Operations Administrator

Reports To: Membership Operations Manager

Salary: £26,000 per annum

Contract: Full time, Fixed Term Contract until 31st January 2026 (with potential to extend).

Hours: A full working week is 35 hours and we offer flexibility with hours.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly-motivated and organised Membership Operations Administrator to join the charity. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to develop their customer service and administrative skills.

Systems you would be using include Google Workspace, Salesforce, Wordpress, Moodle, Submittable, Eventbrite, Zoom and Slack.

Experience and skills

Essential:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

The Epilepsy Research Institute is looking to appoint an Executive Assistant (EA) to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

This is a unique opportunity to be part of our team and play a central role in supporting the CEO across a range of duties. The Fundraising Executive (maternity cover) is a key part of our small but busy Community and Events Fundraising Team, leading on key fundraising events and activities, personally supporting individual fundraisers and giving support to the Senior Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager. Recruitment for an Individual Giving & Community Fundraising Manager is currently underway. Once complete reporting lines will be reviewed.

The post holder will be responsible for:

• Supporting and inspiring all running and challenge and community fundraisers

• Supporting the Senior Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager on special events, including the annual Gala Dinner.

• Managing our community fundraising events and activities, with support from the Individual Giving & Community Manager (once in post).

• Ensuring data relating to fundraising activity above is accurately updated and effectively utilised

The post holder will be an ambitious, creative self-starter who is passionate about World Child Cancer’s programmes as well as our fundraising activities. They will work as well in a team as they do on their own and be happy to undertake administrative tasks as well as more complex fundraising projects. This is a varied and challenging opportunity to develop your fundraising career whilst supporting children with cancer. As a smaller organisation (circa £3m) everyone has to be prepared to support each other, so tasks may vary.

Key responsibilities

• To support the Senior Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager to reach or exceed the annual income target set, within the defined expenditure budget, through activities such as Challenge Events, World Child Cancer Special Events and Community Fundraising.

• In conjunction with the Individual Giving and Community Fundraising Manager (once in post), set activity budgets and work within them, accurately recording all income and expenditure.

• Manage the charity’s community fundraising programme including, but not limited to, London Marathon, DIY fundraising, and Outlanders group.

• Develop and lead on relationships with gamers to fundraise for World Child Cancer.

• Support the Senior Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager to manage the Ambassador group and delivery of special events.

• Lead on management of the annual Summer and Christmas Ambassador Quiz events.

• Support Senior Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager with corporate fundraising.

• Work with the Marketing Executive to promote our Events and Community activities.

• Work with the Marketing Executive to create content ideas to grow our engagement across digital platforms.

• Represent World Child Cancer at events and activities.

• Ensure all World Child Cancer fundraising activity adheres to GDPR and the Fundraising Regulator Code of Fundraising Practice.

• Deliver exceptional, timely supporter care at all times via phone, email and in person.

• Manage the supporter database – segmenting donors/ streamlining/ imports and exports, utilising the events tab, adding one off donations, adding regular donations, ensuring consent/gift aid statements are up to date, training team/ maintain accurate records on Raisers Edge.
