We’re looking for an Assistant Legacy Officer to join our sector-leading Legacy Management Team. This is a unique opportunity to help steward one of the most meaningful forms of giving - ensuring every legacy is honoured with care, precision, and respect.

In this vital role, you’ll:

• Manage your own caseload of pecuniary legacies, ensuring accurate and timely administration.
• Liaise with solicitors, executors, and supporters to resolve queries and uphold our legacy policies.
• Support the team in maintaining BHF’s reputation as a trusted and professional legacy recipient.
• Help maximise income from bequests, directly supporting our life-saving research.
• Demonstrate ability to engage sensitively with bereaved families.
• Confidently balance workload demands and ensure completion within required timeframes.

Legacies account for over half of our income, making this role central to our mission to beat heart and circulatory diseases for good.

About You

You’ll have experience in legacy administration or managing large volumes of client records using a case management system. You’re confident working with data and understand the importance of accuracy and sensitivity, especially when dealing with personal or financial information.

Your communication skills are excellent and you approach conversations with empathy and professionalism. You’re comfortable using Microsoft Office and other IT systems, and you know how to stay organised and manage competing priorities in a busy environment.

You enjoy working as part of a team and are always open to learning and sharing ideas. You thrive in fast-paced, purpose-driven settings and are motivated by making a positive impact.

Working arrangements

We are looking for a Welfare Benefits Specialist in Bromley to support clients to access the benefits they are entitled to. We are looking for someone with significant experience of working within welfare benefits in either a paid or voluntary capacity. Ideally, this will include providing representation at appeals and giving advice on complex entitlement issues. A strong understanding of the needs of people with mental health problems is also essential to this role.

This role will involve:

• Advising clients on benefit entitlements
• Challenging benefit decisions and representing clients at appeals
• Working with colleagues in SEL Mind and Oxleas NHS Trust to make sure clients receive integrated support from our services
• Supporting the work of volunteers

This is a full-time role in a well-established charity based in Twickenham. This role would suit someone who wants to have the opportunity to work flexibly and build their career in the Charity sector with experience of working in social care.

Richmond Carers Centre has the mission to help unpaid adult carers to live a full, active and meaningful life by providing them with advice, information, activities, breaks and emotional support either face to face, by phone or by email to enable them to live well.

As a Support Worker, you will be part of a small, dedicated team and take a lead on providing emotional support to adult carers and a commitment to enhancing their health and wellbeing. Much of your work will involve actively listening to carers, often via the phone support line, providing information, advice and support.

As part of the Adult Carers Support Team, you will also be involved in organising breaks for carers, outreach activities and leisure events, as well as group work to help enhance carers’ health and wellbeing. Part of the role will also aim to improve the identification, recognition and understanding of the needs of adult carers, raise the profile of adult carers and ensure adult carers needs are met. You will also be expected to work with our volunteers and to use appropriate monitoring and evaluation reports to show our funders what we have achieved.

This is one of the most important roles within Shine Cancer Support. You’ll be overseeing and supporting Shine’s volunteers around the country, ensuring that they have what they need to reach as many young adults with cancer as possible. Location:  Hybrid, with two days per week at Shine’s offices in Blackheath, South East London or in Poole, Dorset.

Hours & salary:  Full time (35 hours per week). Salary range is £33,000 - £35,000 pro rata, depending on experience.

Volunteer Support

• Support Shine’s volunteer Network Leaders across England, Scotland and Wales to develop their Shine Networks, ensuring that they provide the best possible support to young adults with cancer. This will include an annual support plan, developing and testing new ways of expanding Shine’s reach, and regular catch-up calls. 

• Work with Shine staff and facilitators to recruit, train and support new volunteers from across the UK.

• Deliver an annual plan for training and support, touching on issues such as outreach and fundraising.

• Maintain and develop Shine’s online information pages for Shine volunteers.

• Organise and facilitate online meet-ups for Shine beneficiaries.

Programme Delivery

• Assist the Programme Delivery Manager and facilitators to deliver Shine’s core programmes (Break Out programme, Shine Circles) to Shine beneficiaries, as well as training to healthcare professionals.

• Create new connections with healthcare professionals across the UK. This will include linking to relevant Cancer Alliances and Integrated Care Boards.

• Oversee the administration and management of relevant monitoring and evaluation processes.

About the role 

Since LRU started campaigning for rent controls in 2024, we’ve secured the support of MPs, trade unions and charities, organised large demonstrations and pushed the issue of rising rents up the political agenda.

The purpose of this role is to work alongside members and other union staff to take our campaigning for rent controls to the next level through a combination of protests, local organising, coalition building and targeting of power holders, landlords and corporations. 

How we work at LRU

You will be part of the LRU staff team alongside 12 other staff, who work with members to build the power of the union by organising, campaigning, training and supporting peer support and member solidarity actions.  We expect staff to uphold the union's values, and work together to implement collectively agreed strategies.  The staff team are accountable to the elected member Coordinating Group.

Job description

• Support members to organise ambitious and effective actions and protests in support of rent controls.

• Leading on specific projects and campaigns as part of the Cut the Rent campaign and other campaign priorities decided by LRU members.  For example, if the campaigns committee decides to target a particular developer or politician as part of the wider Cut the Rent campaign.

• Working with the Union Coordinator and members to implement and track progress on the overall Cut the Rent strategy.

• Implementing organising approaches to ensure that the Cut the Rent campaigns builds the active membership and power of the union.

• Working alongside the Union Coordinator to represent LRU in external meetings and events, and help to build LRU’s relationships with other organisations.  Supporting members to do this.

• Ensure meetings of the Campaigns Committee are effective and well run.

• Work alongside members and other other staff to ensure branches participate in the Cut the Rent campaign, and feed into strategy.

• Contribute to the collective activity of the Organising Team, including taking part in phone banking and outreach sessions and team meetings.

• As time allows, work alongside other members of the staff Organising Team to support members outside of branch areas to participate in the Cut the Rent campaign.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire supporters and partners alike ​

We're looking for a IT Service Desk Administrator to join our Technology Team. In this role, you'll provide vital administrative support for our technology service desk, working closely with the Technology Support team to ensure a high level of service. You'll handle everything from issuing equipment to new starters and providing basic IT support to ensuring our meeting rooms are running smoothly. About the role

As our IT Administrator you’ll be part of our Technology Team and will provide administrative support for our technology service desk team. 

You’ll work with the Technology Services Manager and provide a key role in the Technology Service Team ensuring a high level of service at all times

What you’ll do

• Issue IT equipment for new starters and managing returned equipment for leavers

• Telephone, face to face and remote support - responding to requests for support and raising tickets on the service desk 

• Basic IT support using the knowledge base to guide users to resolve their own issues. 

• Ensure that support issues are kept up to date and have sufficient detail

• Provide support for our video conferencing equipment and meeting rooms

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

As Clerk to the Board of Governors

Provide procedural, regulatory, and governance advice to the Board of Governors. Responsibilities include:

• provide administrative support to the governing body, for example: co-ordinating calendar of dates for governing body meetings and preparing agendas, taking notes at meetings for the preparation of minutes and ensuring that all decisions are recorded accurately and objectively, including timescales for actions

• Support the implementation and effective use of New Governance Software and lead the shift to using Generative AI for note taking at meetings. Update and maintain a database of Governance information, ensuring secure handling of confidential data and information in compliance with College Policy and the General Data Protection Regulations.

• support the development and performance of governors in their role, for example: updating them on changes in legislation and policy, informing them of appropriate training and helping them understand their duties

• offer advice to governors and the college on the correct governance procedures and how to improve governance

• Work with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to ensure a high level of governor engagement by ensuring an up-to-date calendar of opportunities, appropriate communications and effective tracking and gathering of feedback

As Governance and Performance Manager

• Support the College’s internal governance function, providing administrative support in scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and taking notes/minutes. Lead the shift to using Generative AI for note taking at meetings and in systems and Processes to improve efficiency.

• Work with the Executive Leadership Team and wider leadership team to co-ordinate regular strategy updates and report on progress against strategic goals and agreed KPIs.

• Input into, and support with the co-ordination of the College’s Wider Leadership Forum and All-Staff sessions.

• Update and Maintain the College’s Risk Register and Master Policy Schedule.

• Assist with co-ordinating internal audit reviews in accordance with approved internal audit plan.

• Receive and co-ordinate timely responses to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.

• Be a collaborative, enthusiastic member of the College’s wider leadership team, working closely with Staff and Governors to help deliver our ambitious strategy.

• Undertaking other duties commensurate with the role as directed by the Chair or Director of Finance and Compliance.
