Participation Manager Jobs in Greater London
About Global Witness
Our goal is a more sustainable, just and equal planet where humanity is propelled forward, away from the toxic practices of the past. This means fossil fuels staying in the ground, climate-critical forests standing tall and those on the frontline fighting the climate crisis, who defend our planet, are protected from persecution and attacks.
We want justice for those disproportionately affected by the climate crisis: people in the global south, indigenous communities and communities of colour, women and younger generations. And that the necessary energy transition is done equitably and with the interests of those groups in mind.
To do this we have to stand up to the corporate drivers of the climate crisis - the fossil fuel companies that continue to extract and burn when the science is telling us to stop, the global banks financing deforestation and the businesses that turn a blind eye, or worse are complicit in, attacks on defenders.
For us to succeed, we need to embody the principles we fight for. Global Witness strives for cohesion, solidarity, and inclusion as only together can we protect one another and the planet to build a better and more just future.
About the role
Working across Global Witness’s campaigns within a larger data team, you will support our larger data investigations. Using a range of tools and techniques, including data storytelling, analysis, bots and webscraping, you will highlight the role of corporations in worsening the environmental and climate crises.
About you
You will bring core data specialist skills, in particular in financial analysis, natural language processing, remote sensing and accessing and using open data.
We want to evolve, grow and develop and so want to hear the data analysis and presentation skills you could bring to our work.
Finally, you’ll have a strong affinity to Global Witness’ values, working collaboratively internally and externally to achieve maximum impact.
Working for us
Global Witness has a talented team of people worldwide with offices in London, Washington DC, and Brussels. We aim to be a diverse and inclusive place to work. We value new perspectives, original ideas, and different ways of working. We believe that diverse views and experiences improve the way we do our work. We do our best to make our jobs accessible to all regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation, or identity.
We offer an excellent benefits package including a competitive salary and 25 days annual leave (excl. Bank Holidays). We also offer healthcare insurance, wellbeing days and policies to support you during key life events.
This role is based in London and therefore to be considered you must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK. We are working under a hybrid working model which requires at least 2 days in the office.

Internet Matters is seeking a Head of Fundraising who will build partnerships with the world’s biggest tech companies to safeguard children’s digital well-being.
Who we are.
Internet Matters was established in response to the challenges of safeguarding children’s well-being as they access digital platforms and content. The internet is a vital tool for learning and communication and it’s right that children have access to it, but, like all tools, it must be used safely.
Internet Matters believes that by collaborating with industry leaders, such as Google, Samsung, Meta and TikTok, alongside experts in government norms and practices can be established which safeguard children while allowing their online lives to remain fun and fulfilling.
In order to achieve this goal, Internet Matters focuses on the following areas:
- Supporting families and professionals – creating tailored and age-specific resources in collaboration with online safety experts for parents and schools.
- Raising Awareness – running award-winning campaigns to highlight key issues children face online.
- Sharing insights – carrying out regular research on important topics and sharing with child safety networks.
- Working with policymakers – work with policymakers across the political spectrum to ensure child internet safety is prioritised.
About the role.
Head of Fundraising is one of the most critical and most challenging roles in the organisation and requires a highly skilled relationship builder.
You’ll be responsible for all fundraising activities and will hold key relationships with the biggest companies in the world.
By providing excellent stewardship and engagement opportunities you’ll ensure these vital partners continue to contribute towards online child safety.
You’ll secure not only industry buy-in and participation but the funding required to carry out the research, advocacy and policy work Internet Matters carry out.
You’ll also develop and implement the fundraising strategy across core funding streams, primarily through existing partners but also:
- Grants
- Commissioned research and policy work
- Securing new corporate partners
Each relationship with partners is bespoke and highly valued.
You’ll work to ensure these partnerships are long-term and mutually beneficial, spotting opportunities to deepen relationships and for business development to generate revenue for the charity outside of fundraised income.
This is a role that affords you a high degree of autonomy with a supportive team around you.
By its nature, the work of Internet Matters is fast-moving and responsive to new issues and technologies that emerge so this postholder must be adaptable.
Your creativity will be crucial in making this position a success.
Who we are looking for.
We are seeking an expert relationship and partnership builder. You will be adept at varying your tone and approach to suit all audiences, internal and external, as well as having the vision to spot and seize opportunities.
Ideal candidates will come from a small charity or corporate social responsibility background with experience in creating meaningful, long-term and mutually beneficial partnerships with significant public and private institutions.
Successful applicants will be comfortable operating at both a strategic and operational level and understand that in a small charity, close collaboration is critical.

To help us with this important mission, we’re looking for a Community Engagement Officer to join the team and play a key role in ensuring we achieve our objectives of engaging with and increasing physical activity levels amongst the four key priority groups facing the greatest inequalities: low socio-economic groups, women and girls, disabled people and people with long term health conditions, and culturally diverse communities.
This is an exciting time to be joining the Football Foundation and this is a great opportunity to use your knowledge and experience of place-based working and community engagement to make a real difference through community sports.
About the Football Foundation

The Foundation’s goal is to unlock the power of pitches ensuring everyone has a great place to play regardless of gender, race, disability or place
The role
As Community Engagement Officer you will play a key role in ensuring the Foundation achieves its objectives of engaging with and increasing physical activity levels amongst the four key priority groups facing the greatest inequalities: low socio-economic groups, women and girls, disabled people and people with long term health conditions, and culturally diverse communities. This will predominantly be achieved through the critical support you will provide to our ambitious PlayZones Programme, as we continue to roll the programme out across priority areas of the Country.
We have an ambition to deliver in excess of 200 PlayZone facilities by 2025. To realise this ambition, we’re going to focus on investing in safe, inclusive, and accessible facilities in communities with the greatest need. We will tackle inequalities in physical activity levels and create inclusive opportunities for our priority groups to become active through recreational formats of football and other sports and activities.

You will provide critical support to applicants and work extremely closely with our network of Delivery Managers & Officers to advise and agree community engagement plans for a range of Over £25k projects – helping to ensure their engagement is robust, but that applicants also receive support and guidance as required throughout the development of their application.
Community Engagement Officers will champion the benefits of great engagement, capturing good practice, identifying successful approaches, and share knowledge and learning across the Foundation and other stakeholders.

You must be educated to HND/Degree standard, or with the equivalent experience, with knowledge of how sports development can be used for community benefit. You must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience of communicating with and supporting a diverse range of colleagues and customers remotely.
Your knowledge of place-based working and how to best reach and engage with local communities will be key for this role, as well as your understanding of the inequalities that exist in supporting active lives across socio economic groups, women & girls, individuals with a disability or a long-term health condition, and culturally diverse communities. You will be aware of and have experience of dealing with the operations and challenges faced by community organisations, charities, and the voluntary sector.
You must be highly organised, with working knowledge of different project management techniques and experience of managing multiple projects at the same time. While not essential, experience of producing robust reports and of using dashboards to monitor the progress of projects would be useful.
How we achieve our goals is equally important to us. We are striving to be an inclusive and diverse organisation which reflects the diverse communities, users and beneficiaries of our work and the outcomes we deliver. Becoming part of the Football Foundation team, will give you the chance to deliver a positive impact in every community in England; to help transform lives and communities through great places to play; and to be part of a supportive and inclusive staff team that works hard and plays fair to achieve its goals.
