The Role
We are looking for a proactive, hands-on Digital Content & Communications Manager; a creative all-rounder who thrives on “doing,” not just talking strategy. You’ll have ownership of our digital content: crafting impactful videos, visuals, and copy for our social channels and websites, and creating engaging resources for marketing, learning and programme delivery. You’ll energise our digital platforms while continuously improving their effectiveness and reach.
This role is delivery-first: you’ll “own” the hands-on creation, scheduling, and optimisation of digital content. You’ll have input into what and when we share and will help shape digital plans, but the heart of the job is practical content production and sharing. Press and comms partnerships are supporting responsibilities, not the main focus.
Your Key Responsibilities
1. Digital Content Creation & Delivery (Primary)
- Design, produce, and post engaging multimedia assets (video, graphics, infographics, stories) for social media, and our websites.
- Amplify authentic stories, ideas, and perspectives from our beneficiaries to move and motivate audiences.
2. Social Media & Community Building
- Plan, schedule, post, and manage engagement on Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X, as well as newsletters
- Grow and nurture audiences—especially among schools, judges, volunteers, educators, and young people.
- Monitor trends and adapt content for impact.
3. Learning & Programme Resource Design
- Work with colleagues to create compelling, accessible learning resources and marketing materials for schools, corporate partners, funders, and events.
- Design digital newsletters, reports, and campaign materials that support fundraising, stewardship, and participant development.
4. Marketing of Programmes
- Provide marketing support to the programmes team to help promote our programmes to schools and other charities primarily through developing marketing collateral and supporting outbound email campaigns
5. Website Management & Continuous Improvement
- Manage day-to-day website updates, keeping our sites fresh, welcoming, and easy to navigate.
- Seek out and implement small improvements that enhance user experience, accessibility, and recruitment effectiveness.
6. Press, Media & Profile
- Develop and deliver a practical approach to meeting regional press grant requirements (e.g. one piece per final); contribute occasional press releases if needed.
7. Support the Team’s broader objectives
- Help colleagues use digital tools, solve basic problems, and build digital skills through sharing, to improve our digital content
- Champion creative, inclusive, and accessible digital comms internally.
- Representing Speakers Trust at external events and networking opportunities
- Support the CEO in building their advocacy around the issues important to Speakers Trust – Oracy Education and Youth Voice

What We’re Looking For
- Strong track record in creating digital content, managing social media, and designing educational/promotional materials (charity, youth, or education sector experience a plus).
- Experience with website content management and the ability to identify and deliver incremental improvements.
- Skilled in video and design (Canva, CapCut, Adobe, or similar) and software to support website and newsletter design.
- Clear, compelling written English for content, newsletters, and reports.
- Ability to grow and nurture digital communities—especially for school, volunteer, and judge recruitment.
- Organised, adaptable, and comfortable working independently and in a team.

What We Offer

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
Beacon, now in its second decade of operation, has experienced substantial growth over the last three years, including an organisational rebrand and expansion into international projects. We are now recruiting a Senior Patient and Scientific Engagement Officer to play a central role in delivering ambitious projects that put patients at the heart of translational research.
This role sits at the crossroads of patient involvement and scientific communication, building meaningful collaborations between patients, researchers, and other stakeholders. You’ll provide essential operational support and subject expertise to ensure projects run smoothly and reflect the real-world needs of the rare disease community.
You will contribute primarily to two of Beacon’s major collaborative initiatives: REMEDi4ALL, a European-wide drug repurposing platform with over 25 partner organisations, and the LifeArc Translational Research Centres for Rare Disease (LifeArc TrC4RD), a UK-wide partnership. In this role, you will work directly and regularly with partners across these consortia, encompassing patient group leaders, patient representatives, academic researchers, clinical trialists, and beyond. You will act as a vital interface between patients and researchers in both projects, coordinating activities, facilitating collaboration, and embedding patient perspectives throughout the work. While these will be your main focus, you will also support other initiatives across the charity, particularly those aimed at advancing scientific understanding of rare diseases and strengthening patient involvement in research.
This is a varied position offering the chance to apply and further develop your expertise across areas such as patient and public involvement, scientific content development, training, and stakeholder engagement. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your main responsibilities will span aspects of project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and patient-centred scientific support. In this role, you will:
- Support the delivery of Beacon’s work within REMEDi4ALL and the LifeArc TrC4RD, collaborating directly with partners across these consortia to coordinate activities and ensure timely delivery of shared goals.
- Assist in the preparation of project materials, reports, and updates for consortium meetings and communications.
- Write, review, and refine accessible, patient-facing materials that explain complex scientific concepts and research projects clearly.
- Help design and deliver patient engagement strategies for major collaborative projects, ensuring patient perspectives are embedded throughout.
- Support and liaise with REMEDi4ALL Patient Champions and the LifeArc Patient Engagement Group, including coordinating mentorship, facilitating input into project teams, and managing communications.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with patient advocates, researchers, funders, and partner organisations, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of multi-stakeholder meetings, workshops, and webinars that bring together patients, researchers, and other partners to discuss research priorities and approaches.
- Support the creation and delivery of training materials, sessions, and talks for patient groups, researchers, and other stakeholders on topics such as patient and public involvement (PPIE) and rare disease research.
- Participate in project discussions to understand current patient engagement and provide input or signposting to improve engagement and support.
- Represent Beacon and its work at consortium meetings, external conferences, and events – both as a delegate and, where appropriate, as a speaker.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
This is a mid-to-senior level role. Candidates should have professional experience in scientific engagement, patient involvement, or research coordination, and be ready to contribute confidently to collaborative consortium projects with external partners.
We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to patient-centric approaches, who is willing to advocate for patients’ perspectives and priorities, while also navigating the need for compromise and collaboration across multiple organisations.
Essential
- Relevant professional experience (e.g., life sciences, medical communication, translational research, or patient engagement), ideally accompanied by a scientific qualification.
- Experience in patient and public involvement or patient engagement within research, ideally in health contexts.
- Strong understanding of scientific processes, translational research, or clinical research, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to non-specialist audiences.
- Ability to work effectively within multi-partner or consortium projects, collaborating with external organisations.
- Confidence in liaising with a wide range of stakeholders, including patients, researchers, funders, and partner organisations.

Purpose of the job: To deliver mandatory training for volunteers and paid trainees and to design and deliver advice training to external organisations to support capacity building within the community.
The Role
Citizens Advice Enfield is a busy service helping around 6,000 clients a year to solve around 25,000 problems. We are open 5 days a week and currently operate a telephone adviceline triage service from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday.
Our priority commissioned areas are Benefits, Debt and Housing and we have a small team of caseworkers for each. Appointments are booked through a combination of self-referral via the adviceline and referrals from funded partners.
Role Description
We are looking to take on a Capacity Building Training Officer to join our in-house training and development team which will form part of the wider Human Resources management function/team. You will be responsible for delivering all mandatory learning for volunteers and paid trainees to reach their competence and to design and deliver advice training to external organisations to support capacity building within the community. This will be both in-person delivered training as well as via online platforms.
This role will be working closely with key external stakeholders across the voluntary and community sector as well as internally with the management and supervisor team.

This Grants Officer role is available on a permanent contract and full-time basis (35 hours a week). This is a hybrid role, where the foundation would like the postholder to attend the Isle of Dogs office two days a week in East London, with Wednesday being a core office day. The salary banding for this role is £28,000-£32,000 (dependent on level of experience).
In this role, you will report to the Head of Grants and Programmes and support the development, management, and promotion of the foundation's grants programmes. You will manage a portfolio of grants, provide guidance to applicants and grantees, assess grant applications, and conduct due diligence to inform funding recommendations.
You will monitor funded projects, ensure timely reporting and validate project delivery. You will maintain accurate records on Salesforce. You will support donor engagement, ensure reporting aligns with CSR goals, review end-of-grant reports, and contribute to annual programme reporting. You will help deliver funding workshops and community events. You will assist with developing systems, policies, and communication tools for grant making. You will stay up to date on best practices in grant making and contribute to continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge or experience of delivering a grants programme or working in a fundraising environment. You will have experience or understanding of working within the voluntary sector and needs of communities in the East-End of London. You will have a strong eye for detail and experience gathering, recording information, and presenting to audiences.
You will be a strong communicator, who can develop relationships with people from different backgrounds and lived experiences. You will be able to work on your own initiative and within a small team. You will have excellent IT literacy and administrative skills.
Desirably, you will have experience using Salesforce CRM, managing budgets, knowledge of participatory grant making, and public speaking.

Shout Out UK (SOUK) is a UK-based award-winning political and media literacy organisation with nearly a decade of experience in delivering impactful educational campaigns. Our mission is to defend and amplify democracy by equipping individuals with the critical thinking skills needed to navigate the complex information landscape and engage as informed, active citizens. We have a strong track record of working with educators and young people across various contexts, and we are the secretariat for the UK’s All-Party Parliamentary Group for Political and Media Literacy.
The Position:
You will be joining our small, passionate NGO to manage our programme implementation and delivery. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be tasked with managing the distribution and delivery of our programmes. This will involve ensuring KPIs are met within budget and on time, larger projects may be handled by you directly at times. Programmes can vary from delivery of media literacy workshops in schools, counter extremism training in PRUs to city-wide democratic engagement campaigns.
