The London Diocesan Fund (LDF) is seeking a Regional Net Zero Carbon (NZC) Fundraising Officer to accelerate funding and support for decarbonisation projects across four dioceses: London, Southwark, Winchester, and Oxford.

About the Role

Working as part of the regional NZC consortium, you will:

· Develop and deliver a strategic approach to fundraising across the four dioceses.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with grant-making bodies, diocesan teams, parish leaders and regional NZC partners.

· Research funding opportunities and share them across dioceses and parishes.

· Support diocesan staff to build a fundable project pipeline and respond quickly to grant deadlines.

· Support communications, including regular funding updates to parishes.

· Represent the dioceses in the national Church of England NZC fundraising network, sharing best practice and insights.

SENIOR HR ADVISOR – GENERALIST STAND ALONE ROLE

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our team starting, ideally, from early 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR generalist, transitioning to managing an HR standalone function. This is permanent full-time role based in Old Street – London, with occasional travel to our Bristol office.

You will be involved in the whole employee lifecycle, from when candidates apply for a job to when staff leave the organisation. We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic safeguarding specialist to be our Diocesan Safeguarding Officer (DSO) to lead safeguarding across the Diocese. Effectively as Head of Safeguarding, this is a senior leadership role with independent authority of the Diocesan Bishop, responsible for the professional oversight of safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults. 

The Head of Safeguarding provides expert guidance, manages safeguarding concerns and allegations, and ensures the implementation of national safeguarding standards. You will lead a dedicated team, collaborate with senior clergy and external agencies, and ensure that safeguarding is embedded in every aspect of diocesan life. 

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:  

Culture, leadership, and Capacity 

• Lead the development and implementation of the diocesan safeguarding strategy. 

• Work closely with the Bishop of Guildford, Cathedral Dean, Diocesan Secretary, and senior clergy to promote a culture of safeguarding excellence. 

• Support the Independent Chair of the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisory Panel (DSAP), ensuring effective governance and oversight. 

• Oversee diocesan responses to audits, quality assurance, and Safeguarding Practice Reviews. 

Prevention 

• Implement the Church of England’s Safeguarding Code of Practice across the Diocese. 

• Provide expert safeguarding advice to clergy, parishes, and the Cathedral. 

• Ensure safer recruitment practices are followed across all diocesan bodies. 

• Develop and oversee the diocesan safeguarding training plan in line with the Church of England’s Learning and Development Framework.

• Participate in Case Management Groups, supporting the chair to ensure proper case management and ensure lessons learned are shared with DSAP. 

• Collaborate with senior leaders to report Serious Safeguarding Incidents to the Charity Commission. 

Victims & Survivors 

• Coordinate responses to disclosures of abuse, ensuring timely and compassionate support. 

• Implement the House of Bishops’ policy on responding well to victims and survivors. 

Learning, Supervision and Support 

• Work collaboratively with the National Safeguarding Team and other Church of England Safeguarding Officers, attending national safeguarding events and activities as required. 

• Engage in continual professional development, including ensuring that the requirements of the National Safeguarding Learning and Development Framework for Diocesan Safeguarding Officers are met. 

General 

• Lead and develop the safeguarding team, fostering a culture of collaboration and reflective practice. 

We are looking someone who has: 

• Proven leadership and strategic planning skills. 

• A professional qualification or equivalent experience (e.g., in social care or criminal justice), with current professional registration where applicable.

• In-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policy, and best practice. 

• Experience of leading/facilitating/influencing organisational culture change to develop good safeguarding practice and healthy safeguarding cultures.

• Experience in managing complex safeguarding casework and risk assessments. 

• Experience working with victims, survivors, and perpetrators of abuse. 

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.

You will also contribute to digital communication and content strategy across the organisation, helping to determine the best platforms or channels for a variety of content types. While leading on TSL, you will also support content creation for our newsletters, website and social media, working with the Publicity and Partnerships Manager to determine the most appropriate format for different stories, features or news items.

The salary for this position is £24, 324.32 per anum (based on FTE £30,000) for 30 hours per week, and comes with a 6% employer pension contribution.

Job Purpose:

• To coordinate the development and delivery of Fundraising Challenges Events, nationally and internationally, with the objective of engaging the community on a grass-roots level in line with the IRUK fundraising strategy
• To work closely with the Community Fundraising team to promote the mass participation of events that will lead to participation and fundraising
• To deliver stewardship journeys for participants and supporters
• To successfully project manage multiple national fundraising initiatives.

The successful candidate must have:

• Proven experience in challenges coordination and/or management
• Significant experience of fundraising through organising and delivering challenges, and/or mass participation activities
• Experience of the development, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of plans and budgets
• Experience of delivering exceptional donor/customer care
• Experience in supporter stewardship
• Experience of using a range of effective communication channels to promote fundraising activities
• Experience in negotiating and managing contracts with vendors and suppliers
• Experience of managing own workload effectively, planning and organising work to meet deadlines
• Experience of working effectively without close supervision dealing with problems as they arise
• Experience and comfortability of working within a fast-paced environment
• Experience working with and supervising volunteers
• A thorough understanding of the different types of fundraising challenges
• Good understanding of charity law, policy and regulatory environment within the charity sector
• Knowledge of the Fundraising Regulators code of practice
• Able to work flexible hours (including unsociable hours and weekends)
• Proficient use of Asana, Trello or other project management tools
• Excellent event/challenge management skills – from conception, promotion to production and delivery
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce correspondence to a high standard
• Creative thinking skills
• Able to exercise diplomacy where required
• Excellent communication skills – written, oral and listening with the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with a diverse range of individuals who may be supporters, participants, donors or volunteers
• Strong project management and team coordination skills, including the ability to use planning tools
• Strong networking skills
• Proven organisational skills with the ability to work on multiple activities at one time
• Excellent administration skills – able to keep thorough, accurate and up to date records
• Competent user of Raisers Edge, Microsoft D365 or other relationship management databases
• Understanding and experience of health and safety regulations and risk assessments in relation to organising events and challenges
• Educated to ‘A’ level or equivalent
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software in particular, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook

Recovery Worker - Peer Support Lead - HMP Wormwood Scrubs

Join our dynamic Substance Misuse Service at HMP Wormwood Scrubs and play a key role in transforming recovery pathways for men in custody.

Working within the New Models of Care (NMOC) framework, our team delivers trauma-informed, recovery-oriented interventions that support individuals from their first days in custody through to release and resettlement. We work hand-in-hand with healthcare partners to ensure every service user receives holistic, person-centred support.

What You’ll Do

As our Peer Supporter Lead, you’ll be the driving force behind peer-led, lived-experience initiatives across the prison. Your role will include:

• Recruiting, training, and supervising peer supporters and mentors
• Empowering peer supporters to deliver interventions and wellbeing initiatives across all prison wings
• Promoting engagement in recovery pathways and strengthening service-user involvement
• Building effective links between the substance misuse service, healthcare teams, prison staff, and service users
• Supporting the continued development of the Peer Supporter programme in partnership with healthcare providers

What We’re Looking For

• A passionate, motivated individual with experience supporting vulnerable people
• Someone confident in leading, developing or mentoring others

· Expand leadership pathways through, for example, the LeaderBoard Academy, promoting lived experience, inclusive recruitment, and leadership development.

· Lead, refine and grow Sporting Equals’ Charter offer as a core mechanism for sector support, knowledge transfer and systemic leadership on race equity.

4) External Affairs & Communications
