We’re looking for an enthusiastic Communications and Events Coordinator lead the development and delivery of Khulisa’s communications strategy and key campaigns, designed to engage our supporters, stakeholders, and the wider UK public.

About Khulisa: 

Khulisa, meaning 'nurture' in the Zulu language of South Africa, is an award-winning charity dedicated to providing therapeutic support to young people. We focus on reaching those who are most at risk – young people from deprived communities who are often marginalized, vulnerable to exclusion, and at heightened risk of becoming involved in crime.

Our approach centres on safe, exploratory methods that aim to understand behaviour and experiences often rooted in trauma, abuse, and neglect. We deliver intensive therapeutic programs within educational and community settings, empowering young people to confront the underlying causes of their emotional distress and work toward healing. To create lasting, sustainable change, we also work to establish trauma-informed environments around young people by equipping parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals with the tools they need to offer effective, supportive care. Currently, our services are active in London and Manchester. 

About the role: 

This role will be a key part of helping to raise awareness of Khulisa’s mission and the issues we address, strengthening support for our programmes. The postholders will also take ownership of planning and delivering all Khulisa events, ensuring they are impactful and well-executed.

• Develop and deliver Khulisa’s Communications and Branding Strategy in line with the strategic plan.
• Lead public engagement campaigns to raise awareness, promote youth voice, and drive participation.
• Plan and manage events, including fundraising and challenge events, from concept to delivery.
• Create and manage digital content across social media, website, newsletters, and other channels.
• Recruit and supervise volunteers to support communications and event-related activities.

The post holder will be required to work from home permanently but be willing and able to easily travel to various locations across the London and the North West as necessary to fulfill the requirements of the role and to engage with stakeholders and colleagues.

What we're looking for:

1. Abilities/Experiences

• Experience in digital campaigning and digital content creation.
• Experience of planning and delivering events, including fundraising events, liaising with partners, suppliers and colleagues.
• Excellent written, copywriting and editing skills and proven ability to communicate campaigning messages in a compelling, succinct and engaging way.
• Experience creating digital content for a variety of audiences, including experience of using a range of digital software and tools, and knowledge of message testing and optimisation.
• Experience in designing popular, results-oriented and successful campaigns.
• Ability to use design software (such as InDesign, Canva, Photoshop and Illustrator).
• Experience working within a close-knit team in a busy and fast paced working environment.
• Demonstrable ability to plan and prioritise own workload with minimum supervision.
• Ability to buy strongly into strategic objectives and reflect passion for Khulisa’s work with and for young people.
• Experience of using Salesforce or similar CRM system as well as all-in-one marketing platform such as
• Mailchimp to deliver effective long-term public engagement.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends when required.

2. Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Project Management, Events Management or Communications, or equivalent years of experience.

3. Knowledge/Skills

• Knowledge of relevant software and digital tools to deliver effective long-term public engagement and digital fundraising campaigns.
• Strong knowledge of WordPress or similar website builder.
• Knowledge of best practice in digital fundraising.

We are looking for 2 organised and dedicated Project Workers who have a strong empathy with single homeless people, to coordinate our intensive housing management services across our South London boroughs.

You will be joining a small , friendly registered charity and registered provider with a supportive team.

Job purpose

The Project Worker will be responsible for the delivery of a responsive intensive housing management service to clients allocated by the Team Leader.

The central aim of the role is to support homeless clients temporarily living in CLHT placements to become as independent as possible and to facilitate timely move-on into independent living settings.

This will be achieved through regular client-led keywork sessions and in close collaboration with external partners. 

The Project Worker will coordinate the day-to-day smooth running of each house they are responsible for.

Duties and responsibilities specific to the role

Intensive Housing Management

1. Responsible for a broad range of housing management activities, including signing up new residents, issuing licensing agreements, delivering new client inductions, occupancy management and eviction / abandonment.
2. Evictions are a last resort and CLHT works within the Homeless Link guidance on preventing evictions and abandonment.
3. Work collaboratively with the Finance team to coordinate rent/ service charge collections
4. Carry out regular occupancy checks.
5. Maintain accurate and timely records related to housing management activities, within the requirements of GDPR.
6. Maintain a healthy and safe environment and encourage clients to take individual responsibility for their living environment and for positive relationships with fellow residents.
7. Ensure the accommodation where clients live is clean and maintained to a high standard, in line with CLHT property standards.
8. Ensure the accommodation meets all legal and statutory health and fire safety requirements
9. Work in close collaboration with the Maintenance team to ensure all repairs and maintenance issues are correctly reported and resolved.
10. To promote and encourage client participation in the Intensive Housing Management process and to act as advocate for clients when necessary.
11. This includes leading regular house meetings and encouraging clients to become ‘resident representatives’.
12. To document each visit to projects, detailing tasks undertaken, any changes that have occurred and other relevant information.
13. Manage antisocial behaviour and clients complaints in line with our Anti-Social Behaviour and Complaints procedures.
14. Liaise with senior managers to ensure complaints are addressed in a timely manner.

Health and Safety

1. Adhere to best practice in meeting the requirements of health and safety legislation in all aspects of the organisation’s work.
2. Ensure you undertake required health and safety training.
3. Comply with Health and Safety requirements and conduct all activities in a manner which is safe for yourself and others.

Keyworking, Support planning, risk assessment

1. Ensure all clients have a robust risk assessment, needs assessment and support plan which identifies and meets their needs as far as possible within the remit of the service.
2. Use the SMART process to ensure all actions from keyworking are followed up.
3. Develop client engagement techniques, being creative in your approach to encourage client participation in the keyworking, support planning and risk assessment process.
4. Always ensure that clients are provided with the full range of information required to make informed decisions which encourages freedom and empowerment.
5. Signpost and refer to external statutory and voluntary sector partners where necessary
6. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all key partners, escalating any concerns about partner agency engagement to your line manager.
7. Maintain up-to-date, GDPR-compliant records on CLHT IT systems, including clients signed copies of all keyworking, support planning and risk assessment documents.
8. Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of Adult Safeguarding

Working Hours

Our young people need care 24/7 so we have fixed rotas with different shifts (8, 10 and 12 hours) from 8 am to 10 pm for day staff; and from 9 pm to 8.30 am for night staff.

On average, you will be working 40 hours a week, so meaning if you work 4 shifts of 10 hours each, you will then get 3 days off.

There is always the possibility to do overtime if you need a bit extra, this is paid time and half same as bank holidays.

The Parks Team are a passionate group of professionals, who work together to maintain and improve Wandsworth Council’s parks, commons, playgrounds, allotments and other greenspaces. The borough of Wandsworth has one of the richest varieties of open spaces in central London.  Enable Leisure and Culture is a non-for profit charitable organisation and the lead contractor employed by Wandsworth Borough Council to provide management and maintenance of the boroughs 32 greenspaces.  This role is part of the Enable Parks team, a passionate group of people, who work together to maintain and improve Wandsworth Council’s parks, commons, allotments and other greenspaces. The role of Parks Volunteer Programme coordinator in the Enable Parks team will allow you to demonstrate your skills working with stakeholders and local communities to deliver park improvements, habitat management tasks and one-off volunteering opportunities. As an Income and Housing Officer you will help to maximise the organisation's rental income collection,n effectively manage rent arrears and deal with other breaches of the occupancy agreement.

What you'll do:
* Take responsibility for maximising rent collection across a defined patch of Look Ahead's portfolio of properties ensuring that rent collection targets are met and tenancies sustained

* Advise operational teams on their support related arrears management activities, including holding local surgeries with tenants and staff, taking direct control of higher level and more complex arrears cases

* Proactively monitor all current and former accounts within the defined patch and make recommendations to the Housing Manager for appropriate former accounts to be written off or referred to Look Ahead's debt collection agency

The Senior Mental Health Support Worker will provide time-limited, one-to-one emotional and practical support to individuals experiencing low to moderate mental health challenges, including those with complex needs. Each of the Support Network Coordinators have the responsibility for delivering, maintaining, and expanding the support services available to spinal cord injured (SCI) people and their region of the UK.

1. In your region, to reach and support newly and long-term spinal cord injured people and their families developing a strong partnership with all available specialist services, charity and business partners; managing a dedicated team of volunteers as well as providing direct support to SCI people with more complex support needs.
