General Statement of Duties

The St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital has a loyal donor base, and we are now able to grow the major donor portfolio significantly to build our long-term sustainable income.  The Grants & Partnerships Officer will lead on delivering a best-practice grant-giving programme as part of a wider major donor programme.

Alongside the Executive Head of the UK Office, the Grants & Partnerships Officer will develop new major donors prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies as part of a wider fundraising strategy.

This is a key role within a small and dedicated team.  The successful candidate will have a professional, ambitious, solutions-based approach with a track record of fundraising success. They will be ready for and excited by the challenge of building up a major donor programme.

Main Responsibilities

To deliver a successful grant-giving programme and devise and deliver new prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to meet agreed targets, including:

· Establishing and managing strong relationships with past, current and prospective grant-giving organisations, delivering the highest possible levels of care and attention.

· Understanding all prospective and current donor profiles, and their motivations and communication styles.  Formulating personalised cultivation and stewardship plans.

· Set up and maintain regular communications with all grant-giving donors and prospects, tailoring this as required to strengthen their relationship with us.  

· Support and facilitate the Trustees and Senior Leadership Team in developing relationships with grant-giving bodies and prospects, and in how to manage these relationships to facilitate donations.

· Use creativity and adaptive thinking to develop a new and exciting programme of cultivation and stewardship events, visits, and activities to engage prospects and donors in our work and to support these key relationships.  Work with internal teams and senior volunteers to deliver events and activities to the highest standard.

· Developing and refining the internal systems needed to run a smooth and efficient grant-giving programme such as data management, internal communications, and reporting.

· Know and understand the longer-term financial strategy of the organisation and work with the Finance Director and Executive Head of UK Office to ensure the appropriate identification of funding needs.

· Work with the Executive Head of UK Office and other colleagues as required to develop compelling cases for support and funding packages that channel funds to where the need is greatest and that ensure our financial security.

· Work with the Executive Head of UK Office to manage the grant-getting budget to ensure the successful and cost-effective delivery of annual activities and understand and follow finance related procedures such as income forecasting, reporting and Gift Aid.

· Support and deputise for the Fundraising Officer (Community Fundraising), as required, to establish and manage strong relationships with past, current, and prospective community donors and partners, delivering the highest possible levels of care and attention.

· Provide project support as required to the Fundraising Officer (Community Fundraising) to ensure the successful implementation of community engagement and fundraising programmes.

Person Specification

Essential:

· Educated to degree level or equivalent career experience.

· Minimum of 3-years’ fundraising experience with a demonstrable track record of developing stakeholder and donor relationships with a responsibility for securing a minimum of six-figure gifts from grant-making bodies.

· Experience of working with high-value Trusts & Foundations.

· An exceptional and eloquent communicator, both written and verbal communications skills, and a natural relationship builder, you will have solid experience of presenting, negotiating, networking, and influencing.

· Experience of working to and commitment to achieving financial targets.

· Understanding of the principles and best practice of fundraising including Data Protection, ideally within humanitarian and/or international organisations.  

·A self-starter with initiative, confidence, exacting standards, drive, and flexibility.

· Highly proficient with Microsoft Office systems.

· Ability to work outside of contracted hours, as required.

· Ability to travel overseas, as required, and represent SJEHG at events and functions.

Desirable:

· Experience of raising funds within the humanitarian and/or international organisations.

· Experience of working with a CRM system to export and manipulate complex data sets, segment audiences effectively and develop a CRM strategy for donor engagement and reporting. Ideally, Raiser’s Edge.

· Demonstrable experience of working on strategies and innovation behind the areas of fundraising you have worked in.

· Experience of effectively engaging and supporting board members in donor cultivation and solicitation efforts.

· Experience of planning and executing fundraising PR campaigns

· Experience of managing senior volunteers.

Manage high-value partnerships​

• Manage and grow a portfolio of existing five and six-figure corporate partnerships, ensuring a first-class stewardship journey that maximises partnership value and delivers on agreed objectives.​
• Support our Corporate Partnerships Executive to deliver creative partner events and activities that engage our corporate supporters and maximise fundraising opportunities.​
• Ensure excellent stewardship of existing corporate partners, including delivering timely and impactful partnership reporting, and ensuring that all partnership activity is compliant with relevant legislation and regulations.​

​Drive new business​

• Work with our Fundraising Intern to develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate partners, conducting research, making approaches, and securing meetings to drive new business.​
• Work closely with the Corporate Partnerships Lead to identify opportunities to diversify and grow the charity's corporate partnerships portfolio, including identifying potential high-value partnerships and developing strategic partnerships that drive both income and impact.​
• Work with the wider team to create compelling, innovative, and bespoke partnerships proposals that meet the needs of corporate partners, while aligning with the charity's strategic priorities.​

Plan and strategise​

• Work with Corporate Partnerships Lead to  develop and implement the corporate partnerships plan and forecast financial targets within the wider fundraising strategy.​​
• Use Salesforce to manage the accurate recording and forecasting of corporate income, enabling efficient reporting and KPI management. ​

Support our corporate volunteers​

• Bookmark is lucky to have a strong corporate volunteering proposition and it is at the heart of many of our corporate partnerships. Work with our partners and Volunteers team to ensure the corporate volunteering journey is engaging and impactful.​

​Communicate and collaborate​

• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including Marketing, Fundraising, Impact and programme delivery teams, to ensure that partnership activity is integrated into wider organisational activity and aligned with the charity's overall objectives.​

Essential skills and experience​

• Proven track record in securing new supporters over £25,000 across either corporate partnerships or philanthropy.​
• Experience in developing a portfolio of supporters with top-rate stewardship and multi-year gifts.​
• Experience in managing and building a prospect pipeline to secure significant and sustainable growth.​
• Experience of developing and delivering creative and innovative partnership proposals that meet the needs of donors while aligning with the charity's strategic priorities.​

We are looking for a Corporate Partnerships Executive to join an incredible national medical charity to be responsible for identifying, developing and maintaining relationships and securing long term strategic partnerships with corporate supporters.

As Senior Special Events Executive, you will significantly contribute to and drive growth in Crisis’ Events Fundraising portfolio. You will have joint responsibility for ensuring that the team income target (£2.3m in 24/25) is achieved, as well as a personal income target.

As part of this role, you will be helping to roll out and embed Crisis’ special events strategy, developing our relationships and ways of working with key individuals and partners.

About the role

Corporate Partnerships are a vital income stream for Habitat for Humanity GB, and with the guidance of our Head of Corporate, the Corporate Partnership Manager will work to maximize fundraising opportunities and strengthen relationships with our current partners.

What the role involves

The Partnerships Manager will help to retain long term support and drive growth within in our portfolio for Habitat for Humanity GB. With an understanding of corporate partnerships and a passion for the charity sector and international humanitarian work, you will work as part of a team to ensure long-term relationships are fostered. Principle activities will include:

· Develop creative and innovative fundraising strategies for corporate partnerships, including writing proposals and pitches.

· Foster long-term relationships with partners through personalized and proactive engagement.

· Collaborate across the network to implement global partnership activations locally.

· Produce regular reports on progress, financial targets, and key learnings from fundraising efforts.

· Work with the Head of Corporate Fundraising to streamline the transition from new business prospects to account management.

· Collaborate with the Global Volunteering Executive to maximize fundraising and grow the Global Volunteering program.

· Partner with the New Business executive to develop marketing materials and co-deliver presentations.

· Provide day-to-day support to further corporate team goals, with flexibility to assist other teams.

· Represent Habitat for Humanity GB at external events.

Experience

· Previous experience of raising funds from Corporate Partners for development programs across the world and in the UK.

· Great eye for opportunity and ability to proactively identify unique areas of crossover from which to leverage partnerships.

· Strong research and analysis tools and ability to conduct desk based research to understand strategic synergies between organisations.

About the role:

JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Manager, Partnerships role makes a vital contribution to our objective to bring about transformative change for children. The key focus of this role is to secure income generation from Trusts, Foundations and Institutional Funders. The team is set to raise over £3.2 million in 2024 and has ambitions to grow this further in future years.

As Senior Manager, Partnerships you will identify, cultivate, secure and steward major gifts from existing and prospective donors who can support Lumos, usually at the five or six figure level. In your role you will build and foster positive relationships with grant-making organisations and institutions (bi-laterals and multilaterals), providing excellent stewardship and account management and drafting compelling and comprehensive proposals and reports.

You will work with colleagues and stakeholders in the Fundraising and Engagement Team as well as across our global organisation, including the Executive Leadership Team, Programmes Team, Country Teams and our Board of Trustees to effectively cultivate prospective partners, support existing partnerships and prioritise and progress opportunities.

KEY OBJECTIVES

Income generation:

• Pro-actively research and cultivate relationships with donors, especially Trusts, Foundations and Institutional Donors.

• Work with the Head of Partnerships, Director of Programmes, Chief Executive, Country Teams as well as existing supporters to maximise their networks and introduce new partnerships to Lumos.

Relationship management and stewardship:

• Provide exceptional relationship management and execute tailored cultivation and stewardship plans for prospective and existing donors. • Develop high quality communications for donors, including proposals, reports and stewardship materials.

• From time to time, represent Lumos at events and meetings to grow our network of supporters and contacts.
