We are Olive Branch Aid (OBA), an award-winning Foodbank charity operating in south London, and we are looking for a dynamic and confident Foodbank Manager to work alongside our newly appointed Foodbank Coordinator as well as an energetic team of more than 60 volunteers. 

We have achieved so much but we have ambitions to do so much more! 

Since beginning 5 years ago, OBA now provides food support for a day for the equivalent of 70,000 people a year. In 2024 we packaged and delivered more than 9 tonnes of food for those needing our services. Check out our website to read more about our journey.

OBA is different

OBA provides a hand-up rather than a hand-out. More than a Foodbank, OBA provides support for 3 months - much longer than most Foodbanks. We also provide an innovative well-being support service that helps service users address the underlying causes of their food needs. In 2024, OBA helped more than 75 households with complex underlying issues, this involved many weeks of telephone calls and meetings and helped prevent at least five families from becoming homeless. OBA also provides free preloved clothing and household goods to help service users get back on their feet.

Since 2023, OBA has its own fully funded premises off Portslade Road next to the Windrush overground station. Despite these successes, we continue to rely entirely on donations for our day to day expenses. As Foodbank Manager, you will help us secure the funding to grow our services and help even more people.

The Role

As our Fundraising and Events Assistant you will contribute to Yorkshire Cancer Research’s mission by enhancing brand awareness through supporting the Marketing and Fundraising teams and expanding regional outreach by delivering key events and campaigns throughout the year. Reporting to the Community and Events Fundraising Manager, you will build strong relationships with event participants and fundraisers through excellent communication and customer service. You will also assist in maximising relevant opportunities to generate income for our charity via events and partnership opportunities.

Specifically, you will:

• Be the fundraisers’ representative and ‘champion’, working to deliver first class information about events, the charity and how money raised will help.
• Support event participants and fundraisers set up online giving pages, providing guidance, sending out merchandise and practical support as necessary.
• Keep the CRM database up to date, recording every contact with a supporter accurately and adhering to data protection regulations.
•  Support the event planning process by considering participant information needs pre-event, during and post-event. Proactively share ideas for the ideal stewardship (customer journey) with the events and marketing teams to secure their input and support.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure letters, leaflets and other communications (sent by email and/or post) accurately reflect the brand identity, convey key messages and are sent at the most appropriate times/touchpoints.
• Be responsible for stock control, maintaining an accurate inventory of all event equipment and its whereabouts, keep the events section of the stock cupboard tidy.
• Attend a number of Yorkshire Cancer Research and Community Fundraising events each year to support the successful delivery of the event and to gain an understanding of the needs and feedback of participants and their supporters.
• Maintain a record of event participant and fundraising data (sign-ups, attendees, funds raised, etc) and share with the wider team. 
• Assist the corporate managers with identifying new corporate relationships.
• Obtain and file photo permissions from events and community fundraisers in line with the charity’s procedures and GDPR obligations and highlight any potential PR opportunities.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• To be educated to minimum A-Level or equivalent, but a degree in an events, business or marketing related discipline is desirable.
• To have proactively worked to advance career or gather work experience through continued professional development relevant to the role and level.
• To have experience of working in the events industry and an understanding of what is involved with organising an event, including how to ensure events are safe and well managed. This experience may have been gained through a full-time role, a volunteering experience, or a degree/ equivalent qualification in events.
• To have customer service experience in a similar or related role. Experience of dealing with customer queries and providing excellent stewardship, going the extra mile to answer all queries in a polite and timely manner.
• To have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to use active listening skills, and write professionally and appropriately for a range of diverse audiences.
• To enjoy delivering excellent customer service and customer/supporter interaction, to be able to develop positive and professional relationships.
• To have excellent organisation skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines. Able to work well in an event situation when timings and quick decision-making making is required.
• To be able to travel across the Yorkshire region.
• To have a full UK driving licence with less than 6 penalty points and the ability to drive the charity’s van.
• To be willing to work out-of-office hours (to attend events at weekends / evenings as appropriate).

About Us 

The successful candidate will be employed by the IUCN UK Peatland Programme’s host organisation, the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts. The new team member will have the level of knowledge and experience to drive forward and promote biodiversity assessment and quantification within peatland restoration and woodland creation projects. They will be part of a UK-wide team who advocates the multiple benefits of peatlands and woodlands through partnerships, strong science, sound policy and effective practice, and communication. This project will be directly embedded within the IUCN UK Peatland Programme team but will work in close collaboration with the WCC team at Scottish Forestry and Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC).

About You 

We are looking for a highly organised Project Manager to lead our Biodiversity Crediting project in collaboration with the Woodland Carbon Code. 

This is a unique opportunity to join the IUCN UK Peatland Programme team, supporting the Peatland Code (PC) and UK Woodland Carbon Code (WCC), the UKs leading domestic carbon standards. The PC is the quality assurance standard for peatland restoration projects and the WCC is this for woodland projects in the UK. Both generate independently verified carbon units and this project will support the aspiration to provide biodiversity credits in the near future. Applications from suitable candidates are welcomed. 

This is an exciting time in the development of the Peatland Code and Woodland Carbon Code. The Biodiversity Crediting Project Manager will lead on a new FIRNS 3 (Facility for Investment ready Nature in Scotland) project to develop the methods, documentation, governance, and infrastructure to enable biodiversity crediting for woodland creation and peatland restoration projects in Scotland, including the capability to either stack carbon and biodiversity payments within the same project (where additionality rules allow), or explicitly bundle the two quantified outcomes into one ‘credit’ that is sold on the basis of a known level of biodiversity uplift alongside carbon credits. 

You need to be able to manage many conflicting priorities, keep all project partners regularly updated and ensure the project delivery milestones are met. You will work in the rapid developing arena of voluntary biodiversity/nature markets and will need to keep on top of the latest national and international market developments. 

You will be responsible for the day-to-day project management of the Biodiversity Crediting Project. This will include managing multiple stakeholders and funding partners for this, good organisational and communication skills are critical and the ability to digest technical information and communicate it in an accessible way is key. Further, as part of a team, you will support the operation and promotion of the Peatland Code. This means you will have excellent project management and presentation skills, as well as being highly organised in your work.

The Direct Marketing Manager at CBM UK is a vital role and has responsibility for delivering CBM UKs digital and direct marketing plans to engage and inspire individual supporters and churches to support the work of CBM.
Working closely with the Head of Marketing, as part of the Public Fundraising team, the role holder will be responsible for the management and development of two Marketing Officers. Through digital and direct marketing, the Public Fundraising team are responsible for raising over £3m of unrestricted income from cultivation, acquisition, mid-value donors, regular giving, legacies and churches.

Key responsibilities
Fundraising campaign management (40%)
Manage the effective implementation of the annual public fundraising plan, ensuring that all activity is of a high standard, and delivered on time and to budget:
a. Oversee cultivation fundraising appeals primarily carried out through direct mail and email, leading on the continued development of mass fundraising to engage both existing and potential supporters, including high donors, regular givers and church communities.
b. Manage and develop CBM UKs donor acquisition activity in collaboration with the Marketing Officer (Acquisition), using channels such as social media, magazine inserts, press advertising, email and telephone.
c. Oversee the delivery of CBM UKs legacy and in-memoriam giving plans and campaigns.
d. Identify and consider new income streams and broaden the channels used currently for direct response campaigns to reach an agreed balance of long-term value versus risk.

Digital marketing (40%)
Grow digital engagement and income from new and existing supporters:
a. Lead on Pay Per Click strategy, including agency management and development of internal capabilities.
b. Oversee CBM UK’s paid social media activity.
c. Collaborate with the Communications Team to optimise the performance (traffic and income) of fundraising pages, including appeal and donation pages, churches and community, legacy, and in memoriam giving. Ensuring fundraising pages on the CBM website are engaging to existing and new audiences and where appropriate, utilising Search Engine Optimisation tools where appropriate.

d. Explore and make use of new and existing digital platforms and partners, such as Dataro and SEMrush, while promoting a culture of testing, innovation and learning within the digital space.

Leadership and people management (10%)
a. Support and inspire direct reports in line with CBM UK’s staff management policies and procedures. Ensure team members are appropriately trained, briefed and motivated to achieve their objectives and meet targets and recruit to posts where relevant. Regular 121s and appraisal reviews.
Planning and reporting (10%)
a. Monitor and report on fundraising appeals, identifying opportunities for future testing and optimisation, and contribute to the creation of annual planning, budgeting, and the setting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
b. Work closely with the Data and Insight team to ensure strong joint working on technical solutions related to campaign analysis, tracking and insights across digital systems, such as the website, donation platform and CRM (Salesforce).
c. Plan, deliver and report on campaigns/projects within an agreed budget.

Other
a. Ensure the consistent use of CBMs brand, key messages and style guide across all fundraising activities.
b. Maintain awareness of and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to direct marketing, including Fundraising Regulator guidance, and Data Protection legal requirements (GDPR and PECR).
c. Collaborate with colleagues across CBM UK and the CBM Global Federation, to support integrated and partnership based working.
d. Help foster a positive and inclusive culture of enthusiasm and success, reflecting the ambitions of CBM, and promoting positive working and innovation.
e. Be willing to work occasionally outside normal office hours and to travel in the UK and internationally if required.
f. Ensuring that the values of CBM UK are understood by external partners and always reflected in communications.

The Aspiring Professionals Programme Coordinator (APPC) role will be well-suited to someone who is focused on the best ways they can help the aims of the charity as well as those of our participants and partners. An APPC is responsible for supporting the delivery and development of the Social Mobility Foundation’s programme of activities for young people through their S5-6/sixth form and university years.   
The SMF offers in-person and online support and opportunities, so this role will involve providing virtual and in-person support to students and working with employers across the UK.

Key Responsibility Areas:
1. Project Delivery 

• Deliver key projects including recruiting and onboarding students, creating digital resources and student events  
• Support with programme pilots, scoping (and delivering on) new activity   
• Collaborate and build relationships with our employer partners, schools, and universities to support our young people in their applications for university, internships and graduate roles

Ways of working:

• This role requires you to staff residentials for students on our Programme. This means that during the summer period (Jul – Aug) you will be expected to stay overnight on-site (in the UK - exact location to be confirmed closer to the time) for a period of up to two-weeks, help run the residential and be responsible for the welfare of the young people involved.

Travel:

• Some travel, to other offices and other locations, will occasionally be expected.

Operational Management

Role Description 

The Fundraising Manager plays a key role in supporting the mission and ministry of St Edmundsbury Cathedral by leading and delivering a range of fundraising activities. This includes managing relationships with Patrons and donors, organising high-profile events such as the Patrons’ Carol Service and The Grand Nave Dinner, coordinating legacy giving, and supportingmajor initiatives such as the Abbey of St Edmund, Reborn project. The Independent Living Medication Support Service (ILMSS) in Lambeth is a community-based floating support service designed for adults with primary mental health needs and often dual diagnoses.

The service aims to help individuals stay well, avoid hospitalisation, and live independently in the community. The service provides one-to-one support in customer's homes to build awareness, routines, and skills for medication management. Furthermore, it aims to support customers with housing, benefits, and social issues through short-term interventions.

As Service Manager for the Lambeth ILMS service, you will lead a dynamic team delivering floating support to 105 customers and medication support to 35 customers across the borough. Leadership and competence development in direct reports is a key responsibility of the role. Post-holders may also carry client group specialism responsibilities, linking in with other Managers and Head of Services to ensure focused integration of specialisms across the whole organisation.

As the Fundraising and Programme Officer at Temwa, your time will be split across both fundraising and programmes. You will support fundraising through grant proposal research, preparation and submission, as well as support project management through project development, reporting and monitoring. We have a highly skilled team of 27 full-time employees in Malawi implementing this work, based out of two offices in the Northern Region. Our UK office in Bristol comprises a small fundraising and operations team of six staff (two team members are full-time, all other team members are part-time), 3-5 regular volunteers and interns, and a wider family of volunteers and supporters. 

Key Roles and Responsibilities   

Fundraising (60%) 

• Ongoing management of a portfolio of charitable trusts and grant-making bodies 

• Researching and maintaining a database of donors including Trusts and Foundations in the UK and overseas to which Temwa could apply for fundin 

• Stewardship of current donors to promote repeat, long-term funding

• Growing the organisation’s fundraising portfolio by submitting funding proposals to new donors, including Trusts, Foundations, and Institutional Donors

• Working to form strategic partnerships with relevant organisations and agencies

The DRIVE Service Manager will be responsible for mobilising the expansion project across London, working closely with all Boroughs and te Drive Central Team.

The DRIVE Team (Case Managers and Team Leaders) will develop and co-ordinate an individual, multi-modal intervention plan for each Service User, which will incorporate support and/or disruption strategies; a pro-active approach to Service User engagement and commitment to working towards attitudinal and behavioural change, whilst keeping the victim’s safety central to any interventions implemented. Management and Development:

· Provide each Team Leader/Case Manager with monthly Case Management Supervision.
