We provide support for 16 customers, we have two sites Hope House (10 bed supported housing) Doddsfield Rd (6 flats independent living with floating support).

Hope House - Support hours 24 hours 7 days per week based on a shift rota pattern - (sleep-ins staff are paid additional to salary advertised).

Customers also attend Hope College which is facilitated via Slough Mental Health Team as part of their recovery process needed in preparation into independent living.
This is a great opportunity for any support worker to gain exceptional experience within the mental health field, based on the solid working relationship with (SCMHT) We have since implemented training directly from SCMHT to support staff with understanding Mental Health diagnosis and Managing Crisis with our customers in-house.

We support young people to use their voice by providing them with outstanding democratic education. We work with young people, teachers and politicians to help them to learn, teach and engage in politics. We are a non-partisan organisation working across the UK. 

We also coordinate the Democracy Classroom network, a partnership between over 100 civil society organisations that supports young people to engage in elections. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

Working with schools, sixth forms and further education colleges, the Head of Education and Content will support them to prepare for the lowering of the voting age to 16 and to engage their students in elections and democratic education.

The post holder will design and adapt resources, practitioner training, events and activities as well as manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the further education and civil society sectors.

Working with the Director and the Head of Programmes, the post holder will:

• Collate, source and design learning resources for school and college teachers to use to support their students to engage in elections and democracy.

• Support, build and manage relationships with schools and colleges.

• Provide teachers and practitioners with training and e-learning around election and democratic education.

• Oversee evaluation and monitoring, producing reports where required. 

The job is based on a 16-month contract, with likely extension (including a 6-month probation period). 

The Politics Project is based in London, and the post holder will be expected to work from the office at least two days a week. The hours of work are 37.5 hrs per week. Occasional travel to elsewhere in the UK and working unsocial hours in evenings and at weekends may be required. This is a fast-paced role in a small but growing team.

We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our busy team at LimeCulture.

The Head of Safer Cultures (Sport) is a senior leadership role within the organisation, responsible for driving high-impact safer cultures and safeguarding strategies and projects across a range of sectors, with a primary focus on Sport. This role requires a highly experienced professional who has led cultural change and safeguarding work at a strategic level, is confident working at executive and board levels, and brings a strong understanding of how safeguarding principles apply across different organisational cultures.

The postholder will play a key role in leading consultancy projects, influencing strategic cultural change and safeguarding decisions, and contributing to the development of content and resources

This is a full-time role and is primarily home-based with some planned travel and so candidates can be based anywhere in the country.

Role Summary

We are looking for a confident and experienced self-starter to join the Strategy and Communications division as the Government and Parliamentary Relations Senior Officer.

Your role is essential to support and ensure:

• Our relationships generate national and local engagement that helps us to advocate about the issues and practice that can enable high quality careers support for young people across policy debate and the delivery.
• We raise awareness of our work to the extent that our government and parliamentary stakeholders can articulate what we do and why it matters nationally as well as locally in constituencies across the country.
• We initiate and hold strong relationships across Westminster, maintaining a robust management system to track and monitor engagement.

Your work will support the strategic communications and policy workstreams of CEC, ensuring the delivery of a coherent and effective political engagement strategy as part of wider joined-up external affairs approach for the organisation.

You’ll be expected to have a sound understanding of the political climate, a keen interest in current affairs and aptitude for identifying policy and political engagement opportunities for the organisation. You will work closely with CEC’s Policy & Impact Team to distil insight and evidence into government and parliamentary policy thinking and ideas.

To be successful, you will be able to demonstrate flexibility, proactivity and strong organizational skills in what is a fast-paced and exciting environment. The work you support on will be an essential part of a coherent and effective influencer engagement strategy as part of a wider joined-up external affairs approach for the organisation (which ensures the CEC’s mission and work is visible, understood and engaged on).

Essential criteria:

• Experience in a government relations, policy or public affairs environment (previous experience of working in Parliament and autonomously with parliamentarians or ministers is highly desirable).
• Operational experience of UK political structures, processes and trends.
• Proven experience of engaging through the policy process – (1) developing policy ideas and (2) responding to consultations, strategy development and call for evidence from parliamentary committees. To do this you are able deploy evidence and stakeholder insight expertly to positively engage government and parliamentary stakeholders with a clearly framed point of view.
• Proven ability to engage working level stakeholders and manage political, ministerial and departmental sensitivities.

The post holder will join a team of safeguarding officers who will carry specific responsibility for individual cases, undertake risk assessments, lead training and advise churches. The post will be aligned with specific Methodist districts and provide support to colleagues across the regional area requiring regular travel.

Hours of work: 24 hrs per week. (salary will be prorated to the hours worked)

The successful candidate will hold a relevant professional qualification, experience in child and/or adult protection or significant demonstrable relevant work experience.
