- Expertise in audience segmentation, insight analysis, and message testing to ensure communications are targeted, relevant, and effective.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing issues and crisis communications.
- Experience leading relationships with external agencies to ensure alignment and quality delivery.
- Skilled in managing agency partnerships and working across teams. Highly capable of prioritising tasks and managing multiple projects and campaigns to meet deadlines.

We’re looking for a dedicated Service Manager to lead our specialist 18-bed 24/7 Complex Needs hostel in Camden. Leading a team of Project Worker Complex Needs, Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Workers, Trainee Project Workers, an Apprentice, ETE Worker, Night Concierges, and locums - the service supports individuals who have experienced significant disadvantage. This includes long-term rough sleeping, substance use, severe and enduring mental health issues, involvement with the criminal justice system, and self-care challenges.

We are praying for a talented Director of Fundraising and Supporter Partnerships to join our Leadership Team. You will be inheriting a skilled and diverse team raising income from individuals, legacies, trusts and foundations, corporates and major donors with the support from a new CRM system, to fulfil your responsibilities.

About the role

The Centre for Ageing Better launched the first ever campaign focusing on ageism in January 2024.

Ageism is the most widespread form of discrimination in the UK. And it will impact us all at some point, particularly as we get older. Ageism affects how society sees older people: they’re often reduced to offensive stereotypes, patronised, or treated as a burden. And it even affects how we see ourselves. As the years progress, we start to believe what we read, see and hear, and come to think that we’re ‘past it’.

The Head of Ageism Campaign plays a key role in a small team responsible for planning and delivering a nationwide public-facing campaign to bring an end to ageism in England. The public-facing campaign is one strand of a wider ‘age-friendly’ social movement aimed to make people think, feel and act differently about ageing, which will work on a number of levels and with a range of different audiences.

The postholder will jointly manage a creative agency to deliver the final year of our mass marketing campaign, ‘always on’ activity, and a moment of collective action for our warm audiences and ambassadors for the campaign.

As well as delivering the campaign, this role will take a lead on working with creative industries across media, advertising and PR to help shape the way older people are represented. This builds on Ageing Better’s evidence base and significant interest and momentum generated by the campaign in its first two years. The role will be required to proactively reach out and develop relationships with key organisations and industry leaders. Areas it will cover include: 

• Working with industry bodies to strengthen regulations and guidance around ageism and the representation of older people

• Presenting to organisations and professional networks to raise awareness of how industries are perpetuating ageist stereotypes and making a compelling case for changing culture and practice 

• Working closely with our Age-friendly Employer Pledge team to encourage uptake of our pledge amongst these key industries. 

About you

You are a passionate and committed campaigner, determined to create societal change. 

You will have excellent experience in campaigning techniques and communications, with first class writing skills. You will understand how to influence the public and move people along a behaviour/attitude change journey.

You will have experience of influencing the culture and practice of different industries, working with professional leaders and/or bodies. You will preferably have experience of working within media, advertising or PR and bring contacts and an inside understanding of the best ways to engage and collaborate with that industry.

You will be comfortable working across the full marcomms mix and using different channels and platforms to reach audiences.

You will have great project management skills and will love keeping a project on track.

Reporting to the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will be responsible for growing support from businesses (currently 30 small corporates) plus local groups. You’ll manage existing partners and build new relationships to hit a £150K annual target. 

The successful candidate will:

• Have a minimum of two years’ experience in Fundraising
• Demonstrate strong relationship-building and networking skills.
• Have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to deliver persuasive and dynamic presentations.

This role involves working from home with some travel.

Our day centre service is currently open three days per-week offering respite, food and somewhere safe to be for anyone facing street homelessness. It provides advocacy and casework services to those who are vulnerably housed or homeless, supporting them to address their individual crisis and the underlying causes. We also provide a small year round night shelter provision. 

APAP works in close partnership with a number of key agencies locally including drug and alcohol teams, street outreach services, local authority housing teams and the wider VCS. We are a gateway service in the community through which our clients can access a range of support. 

The Community Fundraising and Partnerships Coordinator will be responsible for developing and nurturing relationships within the local community to support APAP’s fundraising efforts, including schools, local businesses, faith and community groups. A key feature of this role will be developing increased year-round community engagement and fundraising, leading into the planning and delivery of at least one annual fundraising campaign. You'll work closely with autistic young people, their families, and our specialist settings, to develop and influence policy on our priority areas. We are looking for someone who has:

• Proven experience of developing and delivering policy positions to effect social change
• Proven track record of using social and traditional media to generate engagement in campaigns for change
• Knowledge and understanding of at least one priority policy area affecting autistic children, young people and their families (education or employment policy)
• Proven ability to develop and manage research and policy projects within agreed timescales and budgets.

The Role

This is an exciting new role in a newly created team, formed to acquire strategic corporate partnerships and community connections. As Partnerships Officer for the North of England your main responsibilities will include:

• Developing a robust pipeline of future support focussing on high value relationships.
• Delivering engagement strategies and products to enhance the conversion rate of your pipeline.
• Developing and delivering a relationship stewardship plan for all corporate partners.
• Delivering an individual income target.
• Tracking and monitoring income and pipeline values to support with forecasting and budgeting.

The Person

We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic person with excellent communication and relationship building skills. You should be excited by the prospect of building a new pipeline and portfolio of corporate partners and be confident stewarding relationships in this space.

You must be able to work flexibly to maximise opportunities across the North of England, and have the initiative and ability to work with autonomy. Previous experience in fundraising is desirable; however, we are also keen to speak with people who also have the knowledge and experience in building relationships and are keen to transfer this skillset into the rewarding world of fundraising!

Rural Community Manager

An exciting opportunity for a dynamic, community-driven Rural Manager to lead rural development across Hertfordshire and help shape the future of sustainable countryside living.

Position: Rural Manager
Location: Hybrid, home-based with one day a week in the Hertford office.
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours/week which may include some evening or weekend work as we operate a flexible working system.

About the role:
As Rural Manager, you’ll lead a range of community-led projects that strengthen Hertfordshire’s rural infrastructure and support sustainable living. You'll be the key voice for rural communities, working directly with residents, local councils, and statutory partners to drive forward initiatives from concept to delivery and long-term sustainability.

Your work will span everything from facilitating rural housing projects to conducting Asset Based Community Development mapping, and from advising parish councils to managing grant applications and training sessions. This is a hands-on role with a meaningful legacy. Act as the voice of Rural Hertfordshire to statutory bodies, guiding policy decisions to incorporate and consider the unique needs of rural communities.

About you:
You’ll be a self-starter with a passion for rural life and community development. You will also bring:

• Experience in rural community work or development.
• A successful track record in partnership building and multi-agency collaboration.
• Experience with funding applications and project delivery.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, strategic mindset.
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Level 3 qualifications including A-levels or international Baccalaureate diploma, Level 3 NVQ, Level 3 National Diploma or Certificate, Advanced Apprenticeship or equivalent experience in a relevant field would be desirable.
• Knowledge of rural policy, asset-based community development, and digital communications would also be desirable.

The Impact & Grants Manager will work as part of the Philanthropy Fund team to help guide our high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients in their grant making, revealing to clients the impact their generosity has achieved.  Performing thorough and appropriate research on causes that fulfil their giving strategy, you will also empower them to make fulfilling decision summary of the role.

As more wealth passes to the next generation, impact measurement is an increasingly critical aspect of philanthropy, and you will be released to lead the development of this area.

Further to this, the Impact & Grants Manager will give high priority to partner relationships, ensuring transparency and good governance.  You will work closely with the Senior Grants Manager, Relationship Managers and Account Managers to provide an excellent team service for our Philanthropy Fund clients.

The Philanthropy Fund is a growing service, and this role is designed to add expertise and capacity to develop its excellent provision.  You will have the opportunity to learn multiple aspects of the service, and refine the role over time according to emerging client needs.
