Main purpose of the job:

An exciting opportunity to be a key member of the Financial Planning and Analysis team, focusing on providing business partnering support and analysis to the Commercial and Business Development teams across the University. This includes overall responsibility for accurate forecasting, analysis, reporting and budgeting to be used for informed and fact-based decision making that will directly support the University’s financial sustainability for multi-million-pound income and expenditure departments.

Good communication and relationship building skills are essential to this role. The post holder will provide professional guidance on all financial and commercial related issues within their assigned business areas. They will ensure clarity of information which can be used for targeted decision making by the senior executive team. They will contribute to and influence the development of the strategy for their areas in line with the wider University’s Enabling Strategies. 

Main duties and responsibilities:

1. Provide financial leadership for designated areas of the university.
2. Be a credible member of senior leadership teams, supporting the development of strategic and operational plans, contributing to executive and other leadership committees as appropriate.
3. Advise and support the heads of department and senior managers as a critical friend to ensure both financial and wider organisational goals are achieved through robust financial oversight of the performance as well ensuring sound and robust planning and forecasting to mitigate risk and maximise future opportunities.
4. To have primary responsibility for all costings and financials for new and existing partnerships / joint ventures / and new business initiatives.
5. To be the lead for the commercial development for the School of Continuing Education andEducational Services.
6. To ensure that marketing costs are controlled and forecasted accurately, whilst giving full commercial input into these areas.
7. To work with student acquisition teams ensuring the full capture and forecasting of the direct and associated costs of acquisition.
8. Responsible and accountable for leading production of month-end financial information pack and ensuring monthly reporting targets are met and reports are accurate, relevant, and timely.
9. Regularly review management accounts with stakeholders to understand key drivers/ variances giving support, training and financial advice to ensure a strong control environment.
10. Provide analysis on month end, forecast and planning numbers for consolidation by the Head of FP&A, ensuring a thorough understanding of any variances.
11. The post holder will be an active member of their assigned business areas, sharing best practice and providing guidance and training in Finance processes.
12. Seek continuous improvement opportunities in processes, reporting, cost savings and increased profitability through to implementation.
13. To ensure departmental understanding of the key aspects of financial policies and compliance, regulations, processes and procedures such as Tax, Procurement and Expense policy e.g. providing finance roadshows and seminars.
14. To gather information from multiple sources, analyse information, relay complex information accurately and in a manner that will support decision making. 
15. Provide complete business finance support, from outset to implementation, for new programmes/collaborations proposals. In addition, provide business finance support for the annual business plans.
16. To support across the Financial Planning and Analysis Team to provide cover for holidays and absences to ensure continuity of the partnering service.
17. To partake in CPD, utilising appropriate external resources and networks and disseminating information where required
18. To undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required by the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis.

They are looking for a candidate with significant existing relationships and networks amongst the major donors likely to fund the organisation's work. They are looking for someone with demonstrable experience in bringing teams together to submit bids, overseeing active funder management and finding the best relationships from which to secure funds.  The ideal candidate will have a track record in fundraising from major donors and a strong interest in and understanding of the international development sector and the role of networks within that sector.

Overall purpose of the role
As part of a multi-faceted and busy fundraising team, the Events Product Development Lead will take a significant role in strategically planning and delivering a portfolio of new fundraising events to raise funds for Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charities. Key Responsibilities

· Innovate and develop new supporter led products in collaboration with the Senior Events Manager and Head of Strategy & Innovation, with a focus on virtual events and owned events, along with any other opportunities within this space.

Jangala is seeking a technically adept and impact-driven person to generate insights from our internet inclusion projects across the UK and internationally. This role will be central in demonstrating the outcomes of Jangala’s programmes, improving our products and support to partners, and contributing to our organisational learning as we aim to deliver socially impactful internet to  4 million people by 2030.

This is a unique opportunity for a candidate equally comfortable designing and conducting qualitative field surveys and focus groups  as they are working with large-scale datasets. You will work directly with rich telemetry from our connectivity devices - complemented by interviews, surveys, and case studies - to understand and communicate the real-world impact of digital inclusion.

Details of the role

You will design and deliver Jangala’s monitoring, evaluation and data analysis activities. The role will report to Jangala’s Head of Programmes and be a member of the Jangala’s programmes department which leads on the delivery of Jangala’s donor-funded programmes in the UK and internationally, deploying Jangala’s award-winning technology and developing partnerships with community groups and grassroots organisations, charities, local authorities and the United Nations.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing Jangala’s M&E and data analysis systems across UK and international projects, aligning with our 2030 Vision and Theory of Change, as well as donor requirements

• Leading the design and implementation of both quantitative and qualitative data collection tools, including structured surveys, stakeholder interviews and case studies, ensuring methods are ethical and appropriate for diverse contexts

• Developing pipelines and scripts (primarily in Python) to analyse and interpret device telemetry data - eg. usage patterns, uptime, throughput and context-specific behaviours - across tens of thousands of devices operating in a variety of contexts

• Integrating qualitative findings with telemetry and survey data to develop a holistic understanding of impact, progress against indicators and our Theory of Change

• Collecting and analysing data and feedback from partners, end users and stakeholders eg. interviews, surveys and the development of case studies

• Collaborate with delivery partners and external stakeholders  to carry out M & E activities and report creation

• Ensuring the secure and organised storage of M&E data and supporting system improvements for capture and access

• Supporting fundraising and communications through evidence-based storytelling and impact narratives

The person we're looking for

• At least 3 years of professional experience in a relevant field (eg. data analysis, M&E, research, social impact)

• Experience with quantitative and qualitative research design, survey tools, and statistical methods

• Proficiency in Python/Julia data analysis and visualisation; ability to work with large or structured data sources and build reproducible analysis pipelines

• Familiarity with tools such as Excel, Kobo Toolbox, Dovetail or SPSS

• Strong communication skills, including the ability to present complex data clearly to non-technical audiences in reports and presentations

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate across technical and programme teams, and with partners

• An understanding of data protection principles, and an appreciation of ethical considerations of M & E activities involving underserved communities, including in conflict-affected countries

Jangala’s office is based in London and operates a remote-first working policy. However this is a UK based role and travel to our London office will be required for mind-mapping and collaborative work at least once a week.

About The Azaylia Foundation

The Azaylia Foundation was founded by Ashley Cain and Safiyya Vorajee after the passing of their eight-month old daughter, Azaylia. Childhood cancer is the number one killer of children in the UK, yet it receives less than 3% of cancer research funding. Backed by a large community of supporters, The Azaylia Foundation is committed to reversing this systemic underfunding through advocacy, PhD research grants, and family support for treatments not freely available via the NHS.
