Senior Philanthropy Officer
Salary: c£36,300 per annum (plus Inner London Allowance £3,333 if applicable).
Location: Flexible Hybrid or Remote. (If remote, most of our major donors are based in London, so travel to London as needed for meetings and events will be a requirement of the role).
Contract / Hours: Permanent - Full-Time - 35 hours per week.

A bit about the role
Action for Children aims to deliver substantial growth from our high value audience over the next five years, with the Philanthropy and Trusts Team playing a vital role in achieving that ambition, working together with the Partnerships, Events and High Value Operations teams.
You will work to secure gifts from major donors and family foundations to deliver a wide range of organisational priority projects and services, also contributing to the development of the philanthropy pipeline to support the team's growth strategy.
We're looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrable experience of securing four and five figure gifts from major donors and family foundations.

How you'll help to create brighter futures
- Deliver an annual individual income target, focussing on securing 4- 6 figure donations from major donors and family foundations including reporting income against high standards of accountability.
- Initiate and develop long-term relationships with major donors and family foundations, to enable the delivery of challenging income targets.
- Develop and implement bespoke solicitation and stewardship plans for a portfolio of existing supporters and new prospects.
- Contribute to a communication and stewardship programme, seeking out opportunities to actively promote the impact of our work to current supporters and inspire future involvement.
- Collaborate with fundraising colleagues to track and report on prospecting activities, remaining supporter focussed and maximising opportunities to enrich and develop donor journeys.
- Take responsibility for ensuring that relationships with major donors and family foundations reach their full potential, and that the charity delivers on its commitment to funders.
- Work closely with the Philanthropy Manager, Trust Manager and Prospect Research Manager to identify and cultivate new prospects in line with departmental needs and to identify and translate project information into compelling fundraising and stewardship materials.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Philanthropy and Trusts team through annual planning and reporting processes, maintaining written and electronic records of donors, in compliance with data protection legislation.

ABOUT THE ROLE
You will provide operational support to Tempo’s networks as required working closely with the Contract Manager. This entails close liaison with clients, account management of community organisations and local business partners, dealing efficiently and politely with queries, requests and issues as they arise and triaging to another team member where appropriate.
You are proactive and passionate about communities and about creating positive, lasting change that builds on the skills and assets of all. You will be a natural communicator, able to mobilise and enthuse partners to join our national network of organisations seeking to make a lasting impact for individuals and communities. You will be well organised and comfortable working with a CRM, able to cultivate and manage a range of relationships across different sectors. You will be able to support organisations seeking to use Time Credits to effect organisational and social change.
Working alongside Tempo central support function you will design and run network and training events to ensure that Time Credits provide opportunities for people to both receive them in recognition of their time and encouragement for them to use Time Credits. You will manage relationships with our customers, ensuring that targets are met, and our impact is demonstrated. We are looking for someone who can travel into London regularly.
Key Responsibilities
Provide support to contract managers and programmes, including:

The Opportunity
Understanding which interventions and programmes are likely to make the biggest difference to the life chances of young people is more important than ever. As School Partnerships Officer, you will work to ensure that our school and multi-academy trust partners are empowered to effectively monitor and evaluate their work to make a bigger impact.
You will be the first point of contact for a portfolio of partners who you will work with to deliver our programme of support, track their engagement on the School Impact Platform, and ensure retention and long-term partnerships. Day to day, that could mean helping a school to get set up on the platform, supporting a school to understand whether their new tutoring intervention is having the desired impact on disadvantaged students, or working with a Multi-Academy Trust to monitor pupil wellbeing and meta-cognition across their schools.
As a varied role in a growing social enterprise, the opportunity has a mix of partnership and account management responsibilities combined with support for school-based research. You will help manage our renewals cycle, ensure our schools get the most out of working with us, and identify opportunities for partnership growth and engagement.

Sailors’ Children’s Society is a local children’s charity that has recently appointed a new Chief Executive Officer. We have ambitious plans for growth and this new role within the charity will help drive this.

Reporting to the CEO, the Partnership Manager will be responsible for securing corporate partners for the charity and managing its existing partners. About us:
Sailors’ Children’s Society is a national charity that supports the disadvantaged children of seafarers during times of crisis such as a bereavement, family breakdown or diagnosis of a terminal or life limiting illness. We provide financial, practical and emotional support to our families for 3 to 5 years or until they are back on their feet again. We work with all seafarers: Royal Navy, fishing fleet, merchant navy, cruise ships, inland canal boats and so on.
We are a small but passionate team with our head office based in Hull where the charity started in 1821. In Hull we have our full time CEO, a part time administrator, a part time fundraiser, a full time triage support officer and a part time finance officer. We have two Family Support Officers one based in Portsmouth and one based in Plymouth. Family Support Officers visit families face to face and support our families online.

Who are we?
The Free Speech Union is a non-partisan, mass-membership public interest body. We stand up for the speech rights of our 11,000 members and campaign for free speech more widely. Glaucoma UK is the charity for people with glaucoma. Our vision is to end preventable glaucoma sight loss. We want everyone with glaucoma to be able to live well with the condition.

There is no cure for glaucoma. Sight loss from the disease cannot be reversed. Eye drop treatments can be painful and awkward and can cause more distress than the disease itself. There are many different treatment options and making decisions can be confusing and difficult. By providing a range of accessible and effective support services, we want to play our part in helping people to live and stay well with glaucoma.
As Training and Engagement Officer (Southern England), you’ll join our team of three other Training and Engagement Officers covering Northern England, Scotland/Wales and Northern Ireland. Across your region, you will be responsible for delivering our new, aspirational strategy by:
• Hearing and being the voice of people with glaucoma across your region;
• Providing support for people with glaucoma, potentially including support groups, conferences or working with local organisations to enable them to provide support;
• Raising awareness of glaucoma, particularly amongst high risk groups;
• Training and collaborating with professionals who work with people with glaucoma.
Your high quality delivery of these services is central to our success is key in this role. You will work closely with colleagues in the wider Support Services team, including the helpline, professional engagement and health information. You will also be involved with the Communications team, especially during public awareness raising campaign weeks.
You will deliver Glaucoma UK's outreach, training and engagement strategy in the South of England, including raising awareness among the general public, providing services for people affected by glaucoma and delivering training to health care professionals.

S.A.L.V.E. International is a small International Development partnership charity registered in the UK and Uganda. Our ethos is “Support And Love Via Education”. We support children living and working on the streets of Uganda, and their families, to have a brighter future.
We are looking to recruit a new CEO who believes in our vision that there should be “No Street Called Home” for children living on the streets in Uganda and who wants to help us to grow this impact and further change children’s lives.
What does the CEO role involve?
You will join and lead our incredible global team, working alongside our volunteers, staff teams and trustee boards in both the UK and Uganda, to help S.A.L.V.E. International to thrive and increase our impact. As a small charity, we need a proactive and practical CEO, who is as much able to deliver high level presentations about our work as they are to get stuck in to cover practical gaps that might stop us from achieving our goals.
We have a current strategic plan that you would ensure is being met and if possible exceeded, and then you would be expected to collaboratively develop the next strategic plan to be ready for when this one elapses in April 2027. You would be working with our team to progress and improve our existing programmes of work as well as ensuring new programmes are being researched and developed as needed for the organisation to best benefit our service users.
You will need to drive forwards and oversee our fundraising strategy and manage relationships with new and existing funders to a high standard to ensure that maximum potential support is achieved. We would expect you to proactively identify potential new areas of support, approaching and winning resources from new partnerships in the wider community to best meet S.A.L.V.E.’s aims and objectives. You would be a key ambassador for our work, always looking to inspire others about how they can join us and help us to achieve our mission.
Practically the role will involve:
● 40 hours a week if working 5 days (or 32 hours a week if you choose to work 4 days).
● Being majority based in the UK with regular travel to Uganda each year. You can choose to be based at our office in Manchester, hybrid between office and home work or be mostly home based.
● Being flexible to travel and attend meetings, talks and events as needed (some in evening and weekend hours).
We believe that it is highly beneficial for the CEO to be based in the UK but to visit the programme in Uganda for a minimum of 1 month a year and a maximum of 3 months a year, which would be split across 2 or 3 trips in the year to understand the work in greater depth, share their skills and to meet and collaborate with team members and service users. The amount and duration of trips would be assessed based on personal circumstances and organisational needs year to year.
CEO specific responsibilities:
As CEO you would be responsible for:
✔ Working collaboratively with our global team of staff, volunteers, and board members to ensure a strong strategic plan is in place which is reviewed and improved over time to maximise the organisation’s impact. We currently have a team of 2.5 in the UK (including the CEO) and 26 in Uganda.
✔ Leading and championing our fundraising strategy. Helping to develop our one off and regular financial supporters through finding new opportunities and networks, giving talks, ensuring quality timely communications, and reporting to existing supporters.
✔ Recruiting, training, developing and managing staff and volunteers to help to build the capacity of the organisation as needed.
✔ Collaboratively create, review, and develop policies, procedures and systems to help to ensure quality safeguarding and risk management for the organisation.
✔ Overseeing the budget and financial management of the organisation to ensure the organisation’s long term sustainability and sound financial management. Collaboratively reviewing the charity’s financial controls and performance and overseeing the internal audit of our accounts with the finance committee.

We are the leading organisation representing EU citizens and their family members in the UK. Our vision is a world where EU citizens can thrive, reach their potential and have an equal voice in UK society. Our work ranges from monitoring the implementation of the UK-EU Withdrawal Agreement, advocating for the inclusion of EU citizens throughout all sections of society, informing people of their rights, and giving EU citizens a voice in British society to build powerful allyships in order to change the narrative on migration as a whole.
We are a grassroots and non-partisan organisation, working with a variety of stakeholders, from MPs to NGOs, legal advisors and the media on specific issues affecting EU citizens’ rights. We regularly engage with the Home Office and its monitoring bodies to advocate for change.

What does the role involve?

Secondary breast cancer, also known as metastatic, advanced or stage IV breast cancer, is a cancer that has spread beyond the breast to other parts of the body. Parts of the body affected are usually the bones, liver, lungs, brain or the skin. Secondary breast cancer can be treated but it cannot be cured. Treatments aim to control and slow down the disease to enable patients to have the best possible quality of life for as long as possible.
About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Marketing and Communications Officer with experience of working on effective, creative and inspiring marketing and communications plans, from inception to conclusion.

About the role
Global Partners Digital (GPD) houses the Support Unit (SU) for the Freedom Online Coalition (FOC), an intergovernmental coalition of 38 member states who collectively advocate for the promotion of human rights online.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Officer to join the FOC SU team and contribute to the work of the FOC.
This role sits at the centre of a small and dedicated FOC SU team. You will be essential to supporting the team and the daily functioning of the FOC. With some previous administrative experience, you will support the efficient, timely and impactful delivery of FOC activities. This will include setting up and maintaining systems and processes, general administrative support, coordinating travel and logistics for FOC events, responsibility for meeting agendas and minutes, and supporting FOC communications. As part of the role, you will frequently be required to participate in meetings and events with government representatives.
With many moving parts, you will be a fast learner, able to juggle multiple work streams and changing priorities, be observant, take initiative and work with discretion. Some prior experience of working with government stakeholders is essential.

THE ROLE
At a time of unprecedented demand for our services at NEA we have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Training and Assessment Officer to work on a full-time basis, 37 hours per week.
As part of NEA’s Development and Partnerships Directorate, you will report to NEA’s Head of Training and Assessment.
Acting as course tutor and examiner, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering NEA’s training courses and qualifications to a wide range of organisations, including local authorities, housing associations, voluntary and community groups, and commercial organisations across England and the wider UK. Our courses cover key issues associated with fuel poverty, fuel debt, affordable warmth, low carbon technologies and practical energy efficiency advice.
Our Training and Assessment Officers assist in the development of future assessment-based qualifications and have the ability to recognise new areas of opportunity; designing, developing and producing engaging and innovative training presentations and material as appropriate, for face-to-face and online delivery of current and future training and assessment products.
This role requires a relevant training or education qualification and recent demonstrable experience of delivering adult training. Ideally, you will also have experience or knowledge of fuel poverty, community development, debt or money advice, consumer issues and/or housing.
Training and Assessment Officers will on occasion be required to work outside of normal office hours and away from home; driving will sometimes be required.
This post provides an exciting and rewarding opportunity to help the charity deliver its work programme as a major national provider of energy advice services whilst developing and working on projects that bring social benefits and improvements to the well-being of low income and vulnerable householders whilst also meeting environmental goals.
What you will need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrable experience of adult training delivery, course design and development, and hold a relevant training or education qualification.
The right candidate will be engaging with excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. You will have sound presentation skills and a creative and structured approach to training delivery.
You will be highly organised, self-motivated and have the ability to work individually and collaboratively as part of a team.
It is important that the successful candidate shares NEA’s core values, and you should be able to demonstrate a commitment to the aims and objectives of NEA and the eradication of fuel poverty. Experience or knowledge of fuel poverty, community development, debt or money advice, consumer issues or housing is desirable.
It would be beneficial for the successful candidate to have experience of working with vulnerable householders, low-income and/or other disadvantaged groups however, this is not essential.
NEA has several office locations throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and welcomes applicants from all regions. Home working and office-based locations are available. Preferences will be discussed with candidates at interview. Post holders must be resident within the UK and be able to provide their Right to Work in the UK.

The Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA) is the national charity for people affected by cleft lip and palate in the United Kingdom.
CLAPA is looking for a Finance Officer to join our small, friendly charity to manage the organisation's day-to-day finances. This will include keeping accurate and up-to-date records of all financial activities (income, expenditure, salaries and pension contributions), overseeing stock control and stock management and assisting with the annual audit preparations. The right candidate will also have the opportunity to expand and grow into assisting with the production of management accounts with support from the Finance and Operations Manager.
The ideal candidate will be qualified, competent, flexible and able to work to deadlines whilst juggling multiple priorities. They will report to the Finance and Operations Manager, and will also be a key part of the wider CLAPA staff team and will work with other teams as required.
This role is home-based within the United Kingdom, with the option to work at the CLAPA Office in London (E2 9DA). A few days per year are required at the office for all-staff meetings and stock checks, with travel expenses paid.
