We are looking for somebody who can foster a supportive community of friends across nationalities through weekly gathered activities, such as football, cricket, and dinners.

This new role is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in the growth of our Major Gifts and Partnerships Team. You’ll take the lead in stewarding our current portfolio of generous philanthropists, while also building a pipeline of new supporters, securing significant gifts to power our work.

Ideally, you’ll have at least three years’ experience in philanthropy fundraising, preferably at manager level — although we’re open to hearing from those ready to step up. Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

• Work with managers to refine job descriptions, post roles, and advertise vacancies effectively.

• Manage the Recruitment inbox, responding promptly and professionally to candidate queries.

• Oversee the Applied platform to facilitate end-to-end recruitment, including application tracking, interview scheduling, and assessment centre coordination.

We operate with a team of volunteers and their cars and our scheme serves older people and those with disabilitites who are unable to access buses or to afford taxis. This is an opportunity to join Swan as we move forward in a new office, with new transport software and a new food club. Someone who is personable, who enjoys a busy environment with good management, organisational, telephone, people and IT skills and experience of working with volunteers who can develop our work and increase the number of volunteers would be ideal. Responsible for Transport Administrator, volunteer drivers and food club volunteers

Duties and Responsibilities

·  To co-ordinate Swan’s 3 transport schemes and report to the CEO.

·  To recruit, induct, train, and informally supervise volunteer drivers keeping an eye on their welfare.

· To maintain accurate and appropriate records for journeys, invoicing, and monitoring purposes.

· To liaise with clients, family members and other local agencies and to work in partnership with other local transport providers and the hospital transport team.

· To identify opportunities for further development of the transport scheme or related services

· To supervise and appraise the Transport Administrator and set tasks for the office volunteer

· To work with Social Workers and support staff to accept referrals to the scheme and to liaise with them.

· To keep up to date with volunteer policy and transport regulations.

· To act as Safeguarding Officer and create risk assessments

· To promote Swan Transport

· To check driver documentation annually

· To liaise with Swan’s Book Keeper regarding income and expenses.

· To monitor passenger satisfaction.

· To assist with journey bookings and the transport software.

· Sort out day to day problems and deal with any complaints.

· Make drivers and other visitors welcome when they visit the office

Do you want to make a difference to the lives of students and equip them to put their faith into action?

SCM is looking for a recent graduate to spend a year working with us to help us to continue to build on the work of our successful Faith in Action project. 

Run in partnership with Project Bonhoeffer, a small charitable trust, the project began in 2012 with a vision that Christian students in Britain would have a greater awareness and understanding of Bonhoeffer’s radical approach to faith and discipleship, and its implications for Christian living in the modern world. 

The project has helped to run over a dozen campaigns from Food Poverty to Peace, and had an immeasurable impact on thousands of students through blogs, resources, and relationships. All of this is bringing to light many ‘Bonhoeffers’ of today negotiating the implications on Christian living in the world.

In 2021 we developed the Faith in Action project as a graduate scheme by employing two graduates to work on the project; one to lead on theology bringing a depth of learning and theological refection, and the other to be a campaigns lead, taking us always back out into the world to make a difference.

The project has been very successful, and now we are looking to grow it for further. We are looking for a passionate graduate to join the project for the 2025-26 academic year.

In this role, you will be a theologian to make other theologians, and will provide the framework for students to be able to reflect theologically on their life and modern Christian Living. You will be responsible for growing the breadth of SCM’s Faith in Action resources, and discovering new ways of connecting with the current membership via the trends of social media or engaging in face-to-face reflections. An activist to make other activists, you will coordinate social action for SCM, engaging the membership in social justice projects that maximise our impact in society and the world.

You will work to build relationships between SCM communities and members to equip students with the skills they need to become faith-filled agents of social and political change and lead them in theological reflection to discern their involvement in local and national campaigns. You will also work to develop relationships with other Christian social justice and campaigning organisations to create opportunities for students to put their faith into action. In all of this, you will be supported by our small but perfectly-formed team, who will share your values and fully understand your aims in this project.

The role will require some travel within Britain, as well as semi-regular visits to the office in Birmingham, which may also include an overnight stay. All reasonable expenses for travel and accommodation will be reimbursed. Some evening and weekend work may be required for which time off in lieu will be given.

Job Purpose

● Ensure pages are SEO optimized to drive organic traffic.

● Support the delivery and tracking of Ada’s annual communications plan across target

audiences.
