The Community Energy Adviser will deliver energy support sessions in local communities, empowering individuals and families through workshops and one-to-one support. The focus will be on assisting those facing challenges with their energy needs by providing practical advice, support, and advocacy on energy conservation, switching providers, and accessing grants or benefits. 

Fixed term until March 2026.

Part time - 20 hours a week 

The hours for this role will be varied over shift patterns from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and may also include some Saturdays.

Location: Scope's London office and remote working is offered around meetings and workshops.

The role will require travelling in London and the surrounding area. 

The Role

In this role you will be:

• Planning and delivering engaging and informative energy support workshops within local communities, tailoring content to meet the diverse needs of attendees. 
• Providing one-to-one support to individuals requiring more in-depth assistance, including conducting home energy assessments and offering tailored advice. 
• Collaborating with local organisations and stakeholders to identify and reach out to communities and individuals who would benefit most from energy advice and support. 
• Developing and distributing educational materials on energy saving, bill management, and the benefits of renewable energy sources. 
• Tracking and evaluating the impact of community sessions and one-to-one interventions, adjusting strategies to improve outreach and support effectiveness. 
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of energy sector developments, including changes in legislation, available grants, and best practices in energy conservation.

The National Youth Agency is looking for a new Campaigns and Media Manager to join our Policy, Insights & External Affairs team.

About the Role
 
Responsibilities of the role comprise:
 
Campaign planning

• Lead the delivery of an ambitious and creative media and campaign strategy to bring about an improved recognition of the value and impact of youth work.
• Lead on other campaign strategy and planning, utilising a range of campaign tactics integrating media, digital media and other campaign tactics, working closely with other members of the Comms team and across Directorates.
• Oversee campaign activity for the annual Youth Work Week, to ensure the campaign engages key opinion formers and provides an opportunity for those within the sector to celebrate the impactful work they do.
• Analyse campaign effectiveness, including setting and tracking metrics across digital and traditional media.
• Ensure campaign plans are fully scoped and uploaded to the online project management system.
• Leading on strategic approaches to celebrity supporters / ambassadors and ongoing relationship management.

 
Press Office function

• Lead proactive media monitoring, enabling timely responses to significant developments and tracking positions on issues relating to NYA’s work.
• Develop key messages and positioning statements on issues in the youth sector and NYA’s activities, role and stance and promote consistency of messaging across NYA’s channels.
• Managing and responding to reactive media enquiries, providing statement and reactive ‘lines to take’, with the support of the Head of Communications
• Producing engaging content for various channels and audiences including press releases, blogs, opinion pieces and media briefings to elevate NYA’s profile and demonstrate our expertise and thought leadership.
• Managing the media monitoring and media database, nurturing relationships with target journalists, as well as online news outlets and thought leaders on key strategic issues.
• Confidently working with charity and corporate partners to maximise opportunities to demonstrate the impact of their support.
• Provide line management and development support to two Communication Officers.

 
About You
 
Essential competencies of the Campaigns and Media Manager:

• A self-starter brimming with creative ideas and proven experience of designing and executing high-impact campaigns that bring about a measurable change in knowledge, behaviour and / or policy.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building effective relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders, including political audiences, and confident in growing new relationships and leading meetings.
• An ability to grasp complex information and distil key messages for different audiences and crucially, which tactics and channels to use to engage them
• Have proven experience and a strong understanding of the UK media landscape, with demonstrable experience of having nurtured relationships with national and sector journalists to garner high-quality coverage.
• An understanding of how to use research and intelligence gained from listening exercises and other stakeholder insights to inform campaign messaging and metrics.
• Be skilled in developing media strategics and developing case studies and using data to create compelling new hooks
• Be proficient in evaluating campaigns and media outputs, with the ability to derive insights that inform future strategies.

Job Title: Housing Support Worker

Location: Based within the central office in Luton with regular travel required around multiple community based locations

Salary: £24,500

Shift Pattern: 12 month fixed term contract, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00. You may be required to work outside these hours as necessary to service requirements.

About the role

This is an exciting new role within a brand new contract to support the referral process from the Housing Solutions teams! The service focuses on providing floating and wraparound support to single applicants who are at risk of homelessness and are able to live independently, by providing a housing support plan towards resolving housing needs and support them into long-term, stable housing.

In this role, you will conduct proactive outreach with our participants to develop personalised support plans for housing for appropriate long-term housing options, including accessing private rental listings and understanding application processes for tenancy. You will help our participants navigate the resources available to them including benefits and support services, advocating for their needs whilst empowering them to take ownership of their housing journey. You will work closely with the Landlord Liaison Officer who bridges the gap between our participants and private landlords. You will work closely with them to achieve prevention and relief outcomes by assisting the participant to remain in their provided accommodation. 

You will provide follow up support to ensure tenancy sustainment and successful transitions into permanent housing, keeping casefiles up to date with activities and documents, and escalating any high risks or high needs to the management team.

About you

This role is ideal for someone who has a real passion towards helping to end the cycle of homelessness, providing support to those who need it to live in stable accommodation. You will thrive in a person centred environment with real compassion and a non-judgmental attitude, understanding that people face different life experiences and sometimes just need that extra support to get back on their feet. Key Duties and Responsibilities

General

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller to oversee all financial aspects of both Ethex and Energise Africa. Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will be a key member of the senior management teams, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of financial information for both entities. This role requires a good understanding of accounting standards, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to contribute strategically to the growth and sustainability of both Ethex and Energise Africa. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the missions and values of both organisations and comfortable working in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting:

• Oversee financial accounting for both companies, working with our finance assistant, who is responsible for book-keeping, banking, AR and AP.

• Prepare accurate and timely management accounts.

• Manage the process for production of the annual report and accounts for both entities, liaising with external accountants / auditors and ensuring timely completion.

• Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to the respective senior management teams, Boards of Directors and funders of Ethex and Energise Africa.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Lead the annual budgeting processes for both organisations, working collaboratively with departmental heads to develop realistic and achievable budgets.

• Develop and maintain financial forecasting models to support strategic decision-making for both entities.

• Monitor budget performance, analyse variances, and provide insightful commentary and recommendations for both Ethex and Energise Africa.

Cash Flow Management:

• Manage the cash flow of both companies, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs and strategic objectives.

• Develop and implement strategies for optimising cash flow and working capital across both entities, considering any intercompany transactions.

Tax & Compliance:

• Stay up to date and ensure compliance with all relevant tax legislation and accounting standards.

• Prepare quarterly VAT returns.

• Check corporation tax returns prepared by external accountants.

Systems & Processes:

• Continuously review and improve systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy and safeguard the assets of both entities.

• When applicable, oversee the implementation accounting software and other relevant financial tools for both organisations.

 

Stakeholder Management:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including accountants, banks, non-executive directors and funders.

• Provide financial information and support to teams within Ethex and Energise Africa.

 

Skills & Experience:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.

• Proven track record in a responsible finance role, ideally as a Financial Controller or similar, with experience managing finances for multiple entities or a group structure.

• Strong technical accounting skills and a thorough understanding of relevant accounting standards and regulations.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide insightful analysis for both organisations.

• Strong budgeting, forecasting experience across multiple business units.

• Experience managing cash flow and working capital effectively across multiple entities.

• Proven ability to develop and implement robust financial controls and procedures for different operational contexts.

• Experience managing the audit process and liaising with external accountants.

About the role:

You will provide crucial administrative support to the RFOs and all teams in Supporter Led Fundraising (Sporting Events, Corporate, and Marketing and Engagement). Support will include adding accurate details to our database, coding gifts tracking and monitoring income, responsibility for online donation platforms and virtual fundraising as well as general administrative duties in the office.

This role will be known internally as Fundraising Executive*

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

· Be the positive, passionate face and first point of contact for the Supporter Led Fundraising (SLF) team.

· Build first-class and long-term relationships through telephone calls and emails with our supporters to ensure they have the best fundraising experience at Alzheimer’s Research UK.

· Provide central stewardship support to a remote-based team of Regional Fundraising Officers (RFOs) to ensure effective delivery of the SLF strategy and budget.

· Provide administrative support for the whole of the SLF team, primarily to the home-based RFOs.

· Support the Sporting Events Team with recruitment and stewardship of events. 

· Work with our Corporate Teams to effectively steward our partner companies.

· Ensure consistent cross-working to identify potential opportunities in current and prospective supporters for long lasting relationships across all teams.

· As one of the key fundraising contacts, keep the managers and team up to date with supporter feedback.

· Provide central communications within the organisation on behalf of the team, updating them on upcoming events and projects.

· Attend a variety of events to engage with and cheer on supporters including golf days, regional events and sporting events.

Administrative Support

· Process material requests from fundraising supporters, offering appropriate support while considering charity cost.

· Provide support on fundraising email inboxes e.g. skydive inbox and Walk For a Cure

· Provide further support to the RFOs where necessary including mass printing, franking, booking couriers and personalising thank you letters and certificates.

· Provide additional support on Ad Hoc campaigns such as Facebook challenges.

· Ensure clear, consistent and up to date fundraising data management including adding new constituents to the fundraising database, accurately recording and maintaining supporter details, monitoring and tracking supporter income and making sure supporters are appropriately thanked in a timely manner.

· Support with social media and website updates including virtual fundraising challenges.

· Provide data support to the Senior Officer.

· Ensure all communications are in line with GDPR policies.

· Become the Central coordinator for SLF-wide activities and procedures, e.g. skydives, contactless machines and invoice processing.
 

Spotting Potential

· As the central point of contact for the SLF team, you will effectively and consistently spot opportunities to build networks among our fundraising community and flag these to the relevant members of the team.

· Identify and research potential community group and business partnerships for SLF teams.

· Use data reports to spot fundraising trends and identify opportunities.

· Help spot opportunities and contact supporters as part of our re-engagement process to encourage repeat fundraising.

· Effectively communicate ARUK’s legacy messages to supporters via telephone and in writing.

Collaboration

· Build strong relationships with teams across the organisation in order to work collaboratively, allowing you to offer the best stewardship journey to our supporters.

· Work with our Supporters and Families Team by sharing fundraiser stories to maximise potential publicity.

· Work closely with teams such as Science Communications, Digital and Design to help create appropriate stewardship journey assets for the whole of SLF.

· Liaise with our Supporter Care team to ensure processes are in-line across the organisation.

· Become involved in a Community Fundraising Project Group, adding creative insight and performing administrative and relationship-building duties based on one of our key fundraising areas.

About the Role
 
Responsibilities will include:

• Manage the delivery of traded services relating to Quality Standards and Organisational Development.
