Empower Youth Zone is the umbrella charity that oversees operations of the award winning HideOut Youth Zone which has supported over 7,000 children and young people since its opening in 2020, offering a dynamic youth provision. The Two Youth Zones sit within the Onside Network.
Job Title: Philanthropy Manager
Report to: Director of Fundraising and Communications
Salary: £39,318 - £42,672
Working Pattern: Full Time, Permanent
Location: Manchester, M12 5PX
The post holder will be responsible for managing a portfolio of major donors and lead on building relationships with new potential supporters to secure 5 and 6 figure donations. You will be developing strategic and personalised solicitation and stewardship plans for a portfolio of donors and prospects, contributing to their annual fundraising targets. You will also oversee the Patrons programme at Empower, ensuring continued support year on year.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have excellent relationship management and experience in bringing in new business to maximise income, either from the charity sector or commercially. Ideally, this will be at the five figure+ level.
- Have experience consistently hitting and/or exceeding both financial and non-financial KPIs.
- Have demonstrable leadership experience and input into an organisation's fundraising strategy.
- Be entrepreneurial and an outside-the-box thinker.

They are looking for a Corporate Partnerships Manager to join the team to develop and maintain significant corporate partnerships, contributing to the sustainability of this important Youth Zone.
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Location: Wigan Youth Zone, WN1 1RU (3 days per week on site)
Contract: Permanent, full-time, 40 hrs per week but open to flexible working requests including 4 day week and condensed hours.

Since June 2013, Wigan Youth Zone has offered young people from across Wigan the opportunity to meet friends, have new experiences, learn new skills and access the support they need to develop and achieve their potential.
This purpose built, state-of-the-art youth facility is open to all young people across Wigan aged from 8 to 19 (up to 25 with additional needs), striving to offer something for everyone, regardless of their interests or abilities. With almost 15 dedicated areas to choose from including four 40-metre floodlit football pitches, an art room, music room and climbing wall - there's something for everyone at Wigan Youth Zone.
Their aim is to provide the town's young people with somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.
AND… they have been doing a phenomenal job winning several awards recently including the Kings Award for Voluntary Service and The Children and Young People Now, Charity Award.
About the role:
You'll have responsibility for securing significant new corporate partnerships (£12k +) for Wigan Youth Zone as well as provide excellent stewardship and relationship management of existing Patrons and Supporters, ensuring support is renewed. You'll work with the Board of Trustees, the CEO, existing Patrons and the Senior Management Team to generate new leads, secure new corporate partners and long-term financial support. This role is vital to WYZ's long-term plans for sustainability and you'll play a key part in enabling the young people of our borough to lead healthy, happy, and aspirational lives.

You will be a conceptual and creative thinker, and above all will be dedicated to the well-being and empowerment of young people. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, capable of thinking innovatively to drive impactful communications. Action for M.E. is the only charity in the UK providing direct support including healthcare to children and adults with M.E.. We provide vital support services, campaign for change and invest in ground-breaking research to help put an end to the ignorance, injustice and neglect experienced by people with M.E.
Opportunity:
Having been paused to new referrals, Action for M.E.’s free, independent, Adults Advocacy service will soon be re-opening. It’s one of our range of free Support Services that work with adults, young people, and/or families living with M.E. We support colleagues across the team to take part in and share reflective practice, self-care, peer-support and training.
Our Adults Advocacy service offers non-statutory, single-issue, instructed advocacy for adults with a confirmed diagnosis of M.E. We encourage self-advocacy where possible, though many of our clients are too severely affected by M.E. to be able to take undertake this.
As an Adults Advocate, you will manage a caseload of clients, as well as inputting and contributing to the triage process along with your Advocacy colleagues. You will meet with clients by phone, email, Zoom and/or SMS; we can also facilitate communication by post if this is required. We are not able to offer home visits or face to face meetings.
