About the role:
This role will work across Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent, but will be based in our Stafford office. Hybrid working is considered following probationary period. Travel across the whole of Staffordshire will be required.
As an IDVA you will be asked to:
- Provide a pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic abuse through on-going risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
- Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse
- Specialise in working with Child to Parent abuse and delivering bespoke services - promoting the service and raising awareness of issues arising, minimising barriers and improving access to support
You will need:
- experience of providing support those affected by domestic abuse
- experience of undertaking need and risk assessments and creating safety plans
- experience of the MARAC and other partnership processes

About you
To be successful, it is important that you have:
- Significant operational experience of structures, processes and trends in the UK political system.

- Track record of building and maintaining relationships which lead to policy impact, either in Parliament, with Government or soft power institutions.
- Proven ability to think and plan strategically, with a track record of achieving political change

About the role:
We are looking for an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to work alongside mental health team in Bedfordshire. This is a full-time post on a fixed term contract until 5th July 2025. This is a key role working alongside the ELFT team to ensure that victims of domestic abuse have access to appropriate support.
As an IDVA you will be:
- Providing a high quality support and advocacy service to victims of domestic abuse.
- Managing a caseload; identifying and assessing risks and needs, providing a tailored crisis intervention service through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
- Working with other agencies and advocating on behalf of service users in order to help them access services to keep them safe.
- Working within a multi-agency framework consisting of partners as well as MARAC and other local partnerships to offer a coordinated response to domestic abuse.
- Promoting the service and raise awareness of domestic abuse through the delivery of training to court staff, criminal justice agencies and local partners
You will need:
- Experience of working in support and advocacy with victims of domestic abuse is advantageous
- To be able to prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/needs and interests and promote organisation interests and values.
- To ideally hold a SafeLives IDVA accreditation, relevant degree, vocational qualification or relevant experience of delivering a service and working with domestic abuse victim's/service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting.
- A driving license and use of a car as this is a countywide role.

This role is part of the Wiltshire Project which provides individual and family support to domestic abuse for victims and their children.
Working within the children and families team, you will focus on delivering timely and high quality, trauma informed support to children.
This exciting new post will predominantly be working with children aged 0 to 5 years and their parents/carers who have experienced or been affected by domestic abuse. Focusing on standard and medium risk cases, this role will provide practical and emotional support to children where appropriate and their families, with an emphasis on early intervention and awareness raising.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
· To provide high quality, specialist support to children who have lived in a domestically abusive family.
· Enabling the children and their families to access statutory and other services where appropriate.
· Managing a caseload and working proactively to support children, young people and their families.
· To deliver educational, time-bound, 1 to 1 support sessions for children where appropriate and to their parents on the impact of DA on their children
· Provide specialist support through group work provision specifically the You and Me Mum Course to mothers who are victims of domestic abuse and have children aged between 0-5 years.
· To support with the facilitation of the CYP witness group provision alongside the specialist children and young people advisors
· Undertake risk assessments and implement robust safety management plans.
· Give practical and emotional support to children affected by domestic abuse.
· Work closely with multi-agency partners and the wider Wiltshire team to ensure that we maintain a focus on risk management and safeguarding.
· Work with your team and manager to develop early intervention resources.
· Engaging with and supporting the MARAC and MASH process, to ensure that the voice of victims is heard.
· To build key relationships with the Family Hub specifically the Navigator roles across the county.
In addition, there will be the opportunity to work with the team and manager to develop and deliver new group work provision for young people.
This role will be based in our Trowbridge office, with a requirement to travel across Wiltshire. FearFree supports staff to work flexibly, with an ability to work in a hybrid fashion, both at home and in the office.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of low to medium risk children and their parents/carers, predominantly aged between 0-5years through face to face appointments but also utilising virtual technologies.
- Complete an initial assessment of the child’s needs so that you can identify and plan the support needed to address issues and prevent any problems from escalating.
- Assess, manage and review risks to service users, colleagues and self, according to agreed procedures.
- Assess the needs of the child and their parent/carer devise appropriate support and safety plans with due regard to the dynamic nature of risk.

Supporter Engagement is one of the most important teams that is central to the success of Alzheimer’s Society. The function of the team is to manage multi-channel communication with our supporters, both inbound and outbound. Main purpose of post
• Meet with or provide digital or telephone support to people using the service (patients/clients, carers, relatives, professionals), providing high quality information and support within defined level of competence in relation to cancer. • This will include:
• Assess the needs of individuals attending / contacting the service and identify the required level of intervention.

The Health IDVA will be employed by FearFree to develop pathways and processes at the Royal Devon University Healthcare (RDUH) NHS Foundation Trust.
