Summary of the role:
The Supporter Relations Engagement Team is involved in the planning and development of programmes and projects that puts supporter engagement at the heart of everything do we do. Caring can be rewarding, but far too many carers are facing tough life challenges that can make it hard to keep on going. It could be money worries because they've had to give up work or the sheer exhaustion that can come from caring. Carers, of all ages, including young carers, need much more support. We do this by partnering with our UK-wide network of local organisations, who collectively reached over one million carers last year. How the COO will support our vision

We resource, connect and champion a network of over 5300 Warm Welcome Spaces and bring together a growing coalition of local, regional, and national partners representing the worlds of charity, faith, business, government, and philanthropy. The Opportunity

The Partnerships Manager will also help develop our support for Warm Welcome Spaces, including overseeing our Champions Programme which offers more intense support and a Community of Practice to a smaller cohort of local groups.

Responsibilities
Building Partnerships
● Developing our Partnership Strategy to identify and engage the best potential partners to help us grow the network and reach our ambition of 100% of the population living within a 30-minute walk of a registered Warm Welcome Space. This will involve identifying and engaging partners in geographical ‘cold spots’ for the network (utilising our mapping tool developed with UCL), as well as forming partnerships to unlock new or under-represented types of Warm Welcome Spaces (e.g. Housing Association Community Spaces, cinemas, community spaces created by new housing developments etc).
● Leading the development of our Local Co-ordinators Cluster which brings together Local Authorities and others who are leading place-based networks of community spaces.
● Overseeing and developing the Champions Programme, providing more intensive support and connections to a smaller cohort of Warm Welcome Spaces.
Engagement and Inclusion
● Developing our Inclusion Strategy to identify and engage the best potential partners to diversify our Coalition and support local Spaces to become more accessible and inclusive.
● Working with the team to develop regular engagement activities for Warm Welcome Partners.
● Producing compelling communications (written and verbal) to promote the work of the Warm Welcome Campaign and grow the depth and breadth of partnerships - to include but not limited to partnership proposals, pitches and reports.
Good Practices, Standards and Systems
● Supporting, maintaining and developing existing partnerships and manage the systems (including CRM use) needed for excellent partnerships delivery, stewardship and development.
● Leading Warm Welcome Space good practice and driving up quality standards across the network, including through developing a Warm Welcome Awards programme.

● Working with the team and, using our new CRM, track, measure and analyse our partnerships delivery.

The WaterAid Global Policy and Research team is a mix of research, and thought leadership in their portfolio areas, and influencing global and national policy-making processes.
About the Role
As our Policy Advisor –Research and Data Monitoring you will support the highest standards of research development, analysis and communication of data relating to the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) sector.
In this role, you will lead high-level analysis and quality assurance of WASH data use as well as management research resources, include the Research and Evidence Bank, the Research Tracker and the Statistics Bank.
You’ll also:
- Contribute to the design and commissioning of research projects to support advocacy, campaigns, media communications
- Oversea and manage small research projects – facilitating the sharing of research outputs and learnings within GPAC and across the organisation
- Work closely with GPAC colleagues and other WaterAid UK departments and ensure that information on commissioned research projects and learnings are shared widely across the WaterAid Federation (Australia, Canada, India, Japan, Sweden, UK, and USA)
- Play an active role in the research team, support colleagues and provide feedback as required and support any other relevant processes within the remit of the Policy team and GPAC in general
Requirements
To be successful, you’ll need:
- Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data and statistics, including an ability to seek the latest data from regular sources and to access new sources of data relevant to WaterAid’s work
- Strong analytical, research and writing skills (English language)
- An entrepreneurial approach to supporting influencing work, including the ability to take the initiative and rapidly adapt work plans to seize new and unforeseen opportunities.
- Working style that reflects WaterAid’s values of Respect, Accountability, Courage, Collaboration, Integrity and Innovation
- Proven ability to work and communicate effectively across diverse cultures in a matrix organisation
- Masters’ degree, or post-graduate qualifications and research experience; in relevant discipline; including statistics, economics, geography, maths, statistics, and international development
- Excellent IT (Information Technology) skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Power BI
Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:
- A successful track record of developing high quality research work
- Good knowledge of the WASH and development sectors
- Experience of working in research for public policy and/or advocacy on policy issues
- Project management skills
- Ability to build the networks and coalitions needed to drive an effective change agenda - especially with major international agencies (multilateral development banks, United Nations agencies, OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) etc.), governments and NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations)
- Fluency in French, Portuguese or Spanish
