Who we are looking for
Breakthrough T1D is the UK’s leading type 1 diabetes charity, dedicated to funding research, advocating for change, and supporting the T1D community. A year into our exciting rebrand from JDRF to Breakthrough T1D, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Research and Involvement Officer to help us build on this momentum.
As a Research and Involvement Officer you will provide administrative support to the Head of Research Operations in managing our UK research portfolio, Type 1 Diabetes Grand Challenge funding and other UK-based funding programmes. This includes providing vital support in the pre- and post-award processes, working closely with research teams, internal colleagues and external stakeholders, as well as ensuring that information about Breakthrough T1D funding opportunities is communicated clearly through our website.
You will also play a key role in delivering our Patient and Public Involvement activities, including ensuring that opportunities to engage people who live with T1D in research are communicated clearly to people affected by T1D and the research community alike.

About the role
We are the UK’s largest independent non-profit investigative newsroom. Our reporting is published by media partners around the world and holds power to account across five areas: environment, health, big tech, dirty money and local power.
This role will manage 2–3 of our editorial teams, providing strategic fundraising support to help them deliver journalism that drives real-world change. Our fundraising
The Bureau is almost entirely funded through grants and donations – without our supporters, we couldn’t do what we do. Over recent years, we’ve grown to a team of 35 people with an annual income of £2.8m, backed by a committed network of trusts, foundations, and individuals.

Responsibilities

Work with project leads to develop their ideas into a strong case for support, translating complex issues into powerful, accessible narratives for funders.

Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Effectiveness & Performance Measurement
· With the support of the Senior Marketing Planning Manager, deliver and implement an ARUK Single Source of Truth (SSOT) dashboard for marketing performance.
· Build and maintain consistent KPIs, reporting methodologies and dashboards across all marketing disciplines.
· Analyse campaign performance across channels, providing objective insight on effectiveness, ROI, CPA, long-term value and audience movement through the funnel.

Data, Systems & Continuous Improvement
· Support the implementation and optimisation of new effectiveness tools, dashboards, analytics partners and measurement frameworks.
· Work closely with CRM, Data and Finance teams to ensure accurate, consistent flow of supporter, campaign and spend data.
· Identify gaps in data, insight or measurement and propose solutions to resolve them.
Stakeholder Engagement & Upskilling

About the Role
As Finance Manager, you will oversee the operational finance function and ensure the organisation maintains accurate, reliable and compliant financial records. About the role
Kinship is undertaking a major feasibility Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) of Kinship Connected. This is aligned with recommendations set out in the Kinship Care Practice Guide published by Foundations (2024) and builds on evidence from the Kinship Navigator intervention of support for kinship carers in the USA.
This feasibility RCT is a complex, multi-partner programme involving:

- An independent evaluation team
- 5 participating local authorities (to be confirmed)

The Mobilisation and Delivery Project Manager is the operational engine of the programme, ensuring that every workstream is scoped, resourced, sequenced, delivered and evidenced, and that Kinship is trial-ready, compliant, and well-coordinated through set-up and delivery.
This role needs someone who is an excellent communicator, highly organised, unflappable, curious, and able to sit comfortably in the detail. The successful person will keep a firm grip on timelines, dependencies and risks.
You will manage a Programmes Officer as well as the set-up, processes, documentation, reporting, trial readiness, communications and cross-team coordination. You will work closely with the Programmes Manager who will share responsibility for ensuring high quality performance across the feasibility trial. You will both work closely with the core project team and partners.
You will lead operational quality, systems, processes, data, and compliance. The Programmes Manager will lead practice quality, staff development and supervision, safeguarding and relational delivery. Together you make sure the trial is delivered ethically, consistently and to a very high standard.

THE ROLE:
The Service Manager plays a central role in ensuring that every young person who engages with Empire Fighting Chance receives high-quality, personalised support.
In this role, you will ensure that every young person who connects with Empire Fighting Chance receives an outstanding experience. You will oversee the full journey of young people through our programmes. From referral and assessment to onboarding, scheduling and progression. You will ensure their experience is safe and impactful.
You will champion a safety-aware culture across the organisation, embedding safeguarding into everyday practice and leading on case management and risk mitigation. This role is key to building a strong operational foundation for our Centre of Excellence in Bristol. Through strategic management, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement, you will help shape an environment where young people feel safe, supported and empowered.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
1. Manage the recruitment of young people
Accountable for the recruitment of suitable young people onto the programmes of Empire Fighting Chance.
- Implement a robust referral criteria process to ensure that Empire Fighting Chance targets the young people that it best supports.Contribute to the development of a ‘bank’ of recommended organisations to share with those young people who do not meet the charity’s referral criteria.

3. Manage a safety aware culture

- Champion a safety-aware culture across the organisation, embedding safeguarding into everyday practice.

- Identify and implement improvements to The Mill boxing gym to ensure that young people feel safe and have an enjoyable experience (while retaining the look and feel of a real boxing gym).
- Oversee the onboarding process to ensure that young people have the best possible start to their Empire experience.
- Work alongside the Head of Programmes and Community Outreach Manager to develop a ‘bank’ of local organisations and services that young people can be referred onto during or after their programme. Ensure this information is shared with coaches and therapists so they can communicate it to the young person.
- Oversee the offboarding process that will support young people to continue their development after leaving Empire Fighting Chance (e.g. resources and pathways for young people – internally and externally).
- Use data and insights from young people to improve their experience.
5. Manage the provision of family liaison/support
Accountable for providing support to parents/carers of young people.
- Work alongside the Family Liaison Officer to enhance the information, advice, guidance and support provided to parents and carers to ensure young people engage with their programme.
- Oversee the development of practices and interventions that can provide support to parents and carers that will, in turn, have benefits for young people.

Salary: £42,000–£46,000 (DOE)

In this crucial role you will build strategic partnerships with brands, manufacturers, and hospitality groups, expanding commercial opportunities. The Commercial Business Development Manager role combines commercial strategy with purpose, supporting people with coeliac disease and advancing research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead commercial growth by expanding the portfolio of CGT and GFA partners and achieving agreed revenue targets.
- Develop and deliver strategic account plans, including cross-sell opportunities such as Gluten Free Academy training.
- Identify, pitch and secure new business opportunities across food manufacturing, retail and hospitality sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, positioning Coeliac UK as a trusted commercial partner.
- Manage contracts, renewals and compliance while ensuring alignment with accreditation standards.
- Use CRM systems to oversee pipeline development, track performance and provide accurate revenue reporting.
About You:
We’re looking for a commercially minded and relationship-driven professional who brings a blend of sector insight and strategic thinking. The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in business development, account management or B2B sales, ideally within food, hospitality or FMCG.
- A strong track record of meeting revenue targets and driving commercial growth.
- Excellent negotiation, influencing and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, digital and CRM skills, with the ability to interpret commercial data.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to spot opportunities and shape long-term plans.
