The role

We are looking for an entrepreneurial and ambitious Business Development Manager to lead our organisational efforts around income generation. The role is ideal for someone with experience in fundraising and/or business development interested in leading the work of a small but impactful and highly respected charity in the health and social care space.

At National Voices, fundraising responsibilities are shared across the organisation, so it is important that the successful candidate is able to work in a collaborative way with others and is just as happy with rolling up their sleeves and writing bids and supporting others to.

While your primary role will be raising funds for National Voices, you will need to be confident in acting as an ambassador for the organisation and in conveying who we are, what we do and the key priorities of our members and people who use health and care.

Responsibilities

Maintain and grow a strong pipeline of funders and clients

· Overseeing the work of our Membership, Development and Partnership Officer in bringing together weekly information on publicly advertised funding opportunities, periodically testing new search words in line with our strategic and commercial interests.

· Ensuring we have access to relevant tendering frameworks.

· Maintaining a pipeline of charitable Trusts and Foundations.

Write and submit bids, and support others to

· In some instances, leading on bid writing – drafting, costing and submitting high quality bids for both project and core funding.

· In other instances, buddying with staff members on bids – carrying out initial call with funders to check fit of projects, supporting with budget development, sharing previous relevant tender responses to support bid writing, supporting submission, leading on the social value response and more.

Support and co-ordinate fundraising efforts of the staff team

· Co-ordinating the triaging and prioritisation of funding bids within the team, in line with our strategic priorities.

· Matching project ideas from across the team with funding opportunities.

· Organising fundraising meetings and ensuring the organisational income generation tracker is up to date.

· Supporting members of the staff team to develop their business development and fundraising skills.

· Providing advice and support to the wider team on compliance with our organisational ethical fundraising policy, the ABPI code, the ABHI code and the Code of Fundraising Practice.

· Maintaining our rate card.

Maintain and develop relationships with prospective funders, clients and organisations we may wish to partner with on funded projects

· Maintaining and developing relationships with grant funding teams at pharmaceutical companies – keeping them updated on our priorities and pitching potential projects for grant funding.

· Alongside other managers and the Senior Management Team, maintaining and developing relationships with development teams at organisations we may want to partner with – consultancy firms, think tanks, research agencies and more.

Manage our partnership scheme

· Take lead responsibility for client management and renewals for organisations on our partnership scheme.

· Coordinate responses to partnership requests within our staff team. Co-ordinate, develop and oversee the delivery of our partnership offer.

General

· Line-manage staff, in the first instance our Membership, Development and Partnership Officer, to include appraisals, setting objectives, monitoring performance and supporting development.

· Review our income generation approach regularly and making suggestions for improvements, using insights from both successful and unsuccessful bids.

· Report progress on our income generation to the board on a quarterly basis.

· Take a pro-active approach to including our members and people with lived experience in all areas of our work.

· Follow processes set out to measure, monitor and communicate the impact of our work.

· Support good project, financial and data management.

· Contribute to the team’s planning activities and undertake other relevant duties as appropriate.

· Deputise for other members of the team when needed.

· Be prepared to take part in full day events, including providing planning and support.

· Experience of securing funding from Trusts and Foundations (desirable).

· Experience of client / account management (desirable).

Our approach to hybrid working

We recognise the importance of coming together regularly, in-person, as a team, so we can share learnings and spend social time with each other. We also recognise that people need flexibility, and that homeworking enables focused work and can fit well in people’s lives.

We ask all staff to take part in pre-arranged team meetings which take place every six weeks in our office space. We also might ask you to meet in-person with members of your team from time to time, or to be available for face-to-face meetings with clients and partners where this enhances the work.

We assume that this would usually not amount to more than one day per fortnight for people who work full time.

About the role

The Engagement & Events Lead reports to the Corporate Giving Manager.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Lead on creating and managing a diverse range of meaningful events and experiences that connect people to the Foundation’s mission
• Empower external fundraisers to achieve meaningful impact by guiding and supporting their efforts to raise funds that strengthen communities across Norfolk
• Strengthen supporter relationships to build lasting connections that deliver impact across Norfolk communities
• Leverage insights and feedback to enhance the impact and effectiveness of future events
• Support thoughtful storytelling of impact following events and external fundraising activity to amplify reach and resonance

About you

We are looking for someone who works well in a team and independently, and has experience in event planning and/or fundraising roles.

You will have strong communications, interpersonal and organisational skills, as well as a passion for community engagement and the voluntary sector.

Attention to detail and the ability to stay calm under pressure are a key part of this role, as is being highly motivated and able to engage with and inspire others. It is a busy role that will have many competing deadlines so the ability to prioritise and multi-task is also key.

Role Purpose

Winston’s Wish is a digital first organisation leading the way in Digital Transformation across the Bereavement sector. This role will play a vital part in helping Winston’s Wish turn up the dial across our corporate partnerships fundraising. As our Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser, you will be responsible for growing income from new and existing corporate supporters through creative fundraising and engagement plans and efficient account management, ensuring all partnerships have an excellent experience of supporting Winston’s Wish and understand the impact of their support on the lives of grieving children.

Working with a high level of autonomy, but within a supportive and friendly team, you will develop a live pipeline of prospects, be creative in delivering ways to keep corporate supporters engaged and provide strong stewardship to foster long-term and sustainable partnerships.

Main Responsibilities

Account Management and Stewardship

• Confidently manage a portfolio of existing corporate supporters who, together, make a significant difference to the lives of grieving children.
• Support the delivery of the corporate supporter activities, contributing to a team target.
• Ensure all supporter records are accurate, compliant, and up-to-date on our database, and document all corporate engagement activity.
• Execute and adapt bespoke campaigns.
• Maintain an awareness of corporate giving trends, news, events, campaigns and legislation in the UK and pick up on opportunities or topical issues that will enhance the charity.
• Provide comprehensive stewardship for our corporate supporters.
• Prepare regular communications, rewards and incentives and feedback.
• Tailor impact reports to ensure supporters understand and are inspired by the impact of their support.
• Seek out value added benefits such as generating awareness of the charity, volunteering, gifts in kind, introductions, attendance at events and pro-bono work.

Fundraising

• Identify new prospects in areas and industries where the charity is less known.
• Manage pipeline, approaches and KPIs to meet ambitious income targets.
• Provide support, where appropriate, for wider fundraising activity to develop opportunities across different fundraising areas.
• Work with our Events Manager to leverage and maximise corporate participation in our evolving events programme.
• Deliver and submit creative and persuasive pitches, proposals and applications.
• Explore, develop and expand ways in which businesses can support the charity through new corporate supporter products and platforms to cultivate new and enhance existing relationships, e.g. employee volunteering, Charity of the Year, cause-related marketing, sponsorships and point of sale opportunities.
• Continually raise the profile of Winston’s Wish by networking and representing the charity at events as required.

Flexibility

Our London-based staff operate on a hybrid model, working in our office within London South Bank University (one minute from Elephant and Castle tube station) on Mondays and Tuesdays (for full time staff – part-time staff are only required to work one of those days in the office) and at home for the rest of the week. We also have staff outside London who are fully home-based. We would like the HR Lead to work in the London office on either Monday or Tuesday (or both if preferred) but are flexible as to when in the week the remainder of the hours are worked, provided that there is a consistent working pattern each week.   We have specified the number of days for this role as 3-4, meaning a minimum of three and a maximum of four, depending on what the appointed candidate is able to offer on a consistent basis each week.

Duties and Responsibilites: 

Involving people affected by sarcoma

• Strengthen and support our existing Involvement Network, keeping members engaged and informed.
• Facilitate a variety of inclusive involvement opportunities for people affected by sarcoma, reflecting diverse capacities, interests, and abilities, and ensuring these align with our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) framework.
• Recruit, induct, and train new Involvement Network members, promoting the network through Sarcoma UK’s communication channels.
• Develop systems to capture meaningful feedback and measure the impact of involvement activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues within Sarcoma UK to create and facilitate meaningful involvement opportunities that engage people with lived experience in our work, ensuring these opportunities are inclusive, accessible, and aligned with our strategic goals

Volunteer Management

• Develop and implement a volunteering programme aligned with Sarcoma UK's organisational objectives.

• Act as the initial point of contact for volunteer recruitment and onboarding, before handing over management to the relevant staff member (e.g. fundraising event organiser or project lead) depending on the role.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Young People’s Advocate. Suitable candidates must be experienced in advocating in a multi-agency setting to secure positive life outcomes for your clients and to making the service a success.  A Safe Lives qualification is desirable.

This newly created Fundraising Lead position will play a vital role in helping to deliver Flynne's Barn's core work; secure the financial standing of the charity; and develop exciting, forward-thinking projects.

Flynne’s Barn is a charity supporting young people living with cancer. We offer residential stays in the Lake District, bringing young people with a shared experience of cancer together to build community. During a stay we offer a range of outdoor and creative activities. We aim to provide the space for young visitors to relax, find friendship and to build confidence in a safe, supportive context. We also provide an online/telephone counselling service for young people and their families.

We are looking for a Funding Officer to join the enthusiastic, friendly Liverpool City Region team in the North West Region, primarily focussed on North Liverpool. 

This opportunity is a fixed term contract starting September 2025 for 14 months (November 2026)

You will play a major role in ensuring our funding supports a wide variety of communities and places across North Liverpool, Liverpool City Region and the North West region.

As a member of the funding team you will assess applications for funding and manage grants from our Reaching Communities and Partnerships programmes. You will use your local knowledge and experience, and the experience of our grant holders and local stakeholders, to ensure we are making the best decisions on the grants we make. By working closely with people and communities from a defined geographical area, you will understand what matters to them and where our funding can make the biggest difference.

In your role you will work within the Fund’s policies and procedures and the necessary legislation, in line with our vision and principles. You will gain an understanding of our vision, our commitment to equity and inclusion and our funding programmes. 

The role is varied and will require you to: 

• Be responsible for your own caseload: visiting projects, liaising with grant recipients, identify and manage risks and supporting organisations to delivery their projects and measure their impact.
• Understand and respond to the different needs of our applicants and grant holders by providing advice and feedback and be willing to have challenging but constructive conversations.
• Represent the Fund within your local area, at funding fairs and external meetings and create opportunities for people to come together.
• Share learning from your conversations, events, grant holder reports and evaluations to support the Fund in maximising our impact as a grant maker. 

Working from home, and community locations, with occasional travel to Manchester and elsewhere in the North West. The successful candidate will live in Liverpool City Region and will be part of the local team, led by a Funding Manager, and comprised of several other Funding Officers. Travel across the region will be required.

Context of Job

AFK is a national charity helping young disabled people develop their independence and find employment.  As part of this we provide bespoke travel training on London’s public transport network to and from school, college and work placements in the North London area.

We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible candidates to train and support young people to travel specified journeys safely and independently using public transport.

Overall Job Purpose

To train and support a young person to travel a specified journey safely and independently using public transport.  Record your observations and give feedback to the travel training coordinator, the young person and their family.  To take part in reviews of training as it progresses.

Working Conditions

• Casual working assignment with no minimum hours guaranteed

• Each assignment must be mutually agreed by both parties

• You will be expected to work mornings and/or evenings as required by the job and we will also consider job sharing for this role.

Responsibilities

• Support a young person door-to-door as they travel on public transport.
• Familiarise yourself with the following documents –

1. Journey Plan – describes the route you and the trainee will follow, and the alternative route(s) if the need arises. 
2. Risk Assessment – outlines the support needs of the trainee, and risks and strategies to mitigate them.

• Record your observations using standardised forms and relay your observations to the travel training coordinator on a weekly basis.
• Allow the young person to learn independently and only guide, support or intervene when necessary (this will be included in your induction)
• Approach travel training in a positive manner by reinforcing achievements and viewing obstacles as opportunities to learn.  Discuss strategies and agree solutions with the young person, their family and the travel training coordinator.
• To contact the travel training coordinator immediately if there are any emergencies or unexpected situations.
• Ensure that the young person is trained to use the alternative route safely and independently.
• Ensure that the young person learns and/or knows how to contact parents or carers in case of an emergency
• Any issues or concerns must be raised with the travel training coordinator or the business development manager.

Additional Responsibilities

• Learn the support needs of the young person prior to training
• Become familiar with the route
• Become familiar with and then follow AFK’s safeguarding policies and procedures

About the role

 The Professional Engagement and Education Team works across the UK, delivering education and training courses, attending health and care conferences, supporting service improvement projects and developing resources to help provide health and care professionals with the skills, knowledge and information they need to improve outcomes for people with arthritis.

As the Professional Engagement Officer for England you will work alongside the Professional Engagement Manager to build relationships with health and care professionals, providing them with information, resources and support to deliver the best care possible for people with arthritis. 

You will support the recruitment and facilitation of a network of volunteers and involved people who will contribute to quality improvement and education projects, as well as helping to shape the work of the team. 

You will be part of an ambitious, creative and passionate team and will work collaboratively with other teams across the organisation.

We are SIFA Fireside, the support service for any adult in Birmingham that faces homelessness. For 40 years we have supported Birmingham’s most vulnerable people through Homelessness Intervention, Prevention and Recovery services.

The Adult Lead Worker service is based at our main hub in Digbeth but provides city-wide support to adults experiencing multiple disadvantages. This service provides flexible, strengths-based advice and support to people aged 18 years plus who experience two or more of substance use, poor mental health, history of repeat homelessness and offending history. Clients may also be serially excluded from services or be at risk of exclusion from mainstream services.

This is a targeted service that aims to build resilience, improve health and wellbeing and move people towards independent living at an early stage, in order to prevent or delay the need for crisis interventions.

The Lead Workers will also act as a community navigator linking the client into local services and activities, ensuring access to and receipt of necessary care and support that will vary for each client.
