Position

What you’ll be doing

If you were working with us, you would be leading a team of six Employment Specialists, providing day-to-day direction, supervision, and practical guidance to ensure excellent IPS practice. You would offer regular one-to-one supervision, in-field mentoring, training, and caseload management support. Your leadership would help the team deliver consistent quality and outcomes across the service.

You would work closely with clinical team leads, contract commissioners, and health partners, maintaining strong and positive relationships to support collaborative, client-led work. Data analysis and monthly reporting would form part of your responsibilities, ensuring that performance information is accurate, meaningful, and useful. While the Operations Manager leads on quarterly reporting, your support and insight would be essential.

Although this is a busy and varied role, you would not be working alone. You would be supported by the Operations Manager and the wider Head Office team, with access to training, guidance, and practical help to enable you and your team to succeed.

You do not need previous team management experience. Instead, we are looking for:

Key Responsibilities

Finance

• Responsible for processing all income in SAGE from various platforms reconciling income to bank statements.
• Responsible for processing monthly/annual journal and accruals
• Responsible for sales invoicing.
• Perform monthly CRM-Accounting software reconciliation.
• Helping to improve finance processes and systems.
• Monthly claim and process monthly Internal Gift Aid claims and reconcile External Gift Aid with Fundraising Team.
• Support Finance Manager with a variety of monthly and quarterly reconciliations and ad-hoc reports
• Oversee customer invoicing and Credit Control.
• Assist the external auditors during their audit fieldwork
• Coordinate financial tasks for Major Fundraising Events (pre and post activities)
• Attend the major Fundraising events
• Acting as point of contact for income related queries
• Support with bank reconciliation,
• Support with preparation of fixed assets register
• Assist in the preparation of VAT returns
• Assist in the preparation of Budgets, Reforecasts and Management Accounts
• Keep financial procedures and other documents up to date.
•  Provide training to budget holders

Other

• Maintain records of procedures, sharing best-practice with the rest of the team
• Provide support and cover as required to the Finance and Operations team.
• Respond to and direct general office inquiries by phone or email.

This is a pivotal leadership role within The Passage's Fundraising and Communications team, responsible for driving supporter engagement and delivering a diverse portfolio of fundraising programmes. From special events and individual giving to community fundraising and celebrity ambassador engagement, this role ensures supporters are at the heart of everything The Passage does.

About The Passage
The Passage are an incredible charity based in Westminster providing people experiencing homelessness with the support to transform their lives. Their vision is of a society where street homelessness no longer exists, and everyone has a place to call home. Last year, they supported over 2,000 people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.

The Role

As Head of Supporter Engagement and Events, you will lead a talented team to grow and diversify income streams, ensuring a first-class supporter experience. As part of the Senior Management Group, you will also contribute to organisational strategy and represent The Passage externally.

Key Priorities During the Contract

For the duration of the maternity cover, the successful candidate will focus on:

• Personally leading the development and delivery of core events including Garden Party, Big Sports Quiz, A Little Night Music, and Laughter to the Rafters.
• Developing and implementing processes to streamline, improve and enhance supporter data and communications.
• Leading the implementation of the supporter journey strategy, collaborating with colleagues across fundraising and communications to ensure a seamless, personalised, and data-driven experience for all supporters.
• Managing relationships with Passage Ambassadors, particularly Dara O'Briain, who plays a key role in our annual comedy event, Laughter to the Rafters.
• Working closely with the Head of Development to enhance the special events programme and identify opportunities to uplift income across corporate, trust and major donors.
• Provide coaching and direction to a multi-functional team, fostering collaboration and innovation.
• Budget Management: Prepare accurate forecasts and monitor KPIs to achieve ambitious income targets.

About You

We are looking for a dynamic and strategic leader with:

• Proven experience in developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies.
• A track record of achieving and exceeding income targets.
• Expertise in event planning and delivery at a senior level.
• Strong leadership skills and experience managing multi-functional teams.
• Ability to leverage celebrity involvement and deliver exceptional supporter stewardship.
• Financial acumen and experience managing budgets and KPIs.

Responsibilities:
