Are you passionate about using your lived experience to inspire hope and recovery?

We’re looking for a passionate and driven individual with personal lived experience of mental health recovery, who is ready to lead and inspire others through peer support. The ideal candidate is a confident communicator, a natural team leader, and someone who thrives in a values-led environment. You’ll be skilled in facilitating groups, delivering peer-led interventions, and supporting others to use their own experiences to empower service users. Strong digital skills (Microsoft Office, Zoom, Teams) and a solid understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and mental health risk management are essential. This role is central to the growth and transformation of our Peer Support Service across Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster. As a Senior Peer Support Worker, you’ll supervise a small team, co-deliver training, and help shape a service that is inclusive, recovery-focused, and rooted in lived experience. A DBS check is required for this role.

You will:

  • Provide structured peer support, information, and guidance to individuals across Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster who are living with common and complex mental health needs, including complex emotional needs.
  • Connect people through one-to-one peer support, groups, workshops, and community-based activities, empowering them to build confidence and take control of their recovery journey.
  • Work closely with NHS Talking Therapies, Recovery Colleges, and other statutory and voluntary services to ensure a coordinated, person-centred approach to mental health support.
  • Supervise and support a small team of Peer Support Workers, ensuring delivery aligns with Mind’s peer values and quality standards.
  • Engage with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and age groups, using interpreters where necessary to ensure inclusive and accessible support.

You are:

  • Passionate about using your own lived experience of mental health recovery to inspire and empower others.
  • Skilled and knowledgeable in trauma-informed, recovery-focused approaches and peer-led support.
  • An effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to build trust and connection with individuals, teams, and partners.
  • Reflective and adaptive, with the ability to use supervision and feedback to grow in your role.
  • Organised and confident in managing a varied workload, including supervision, service delivery, and administration.
  • Committed to co-production, equality, and inclusive practice, with experience working across diverse communities.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a values-led environment and is eager to contribute to service development and innovation.
  • Proficient in using digital tools like Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Teams to deliver support flexibly and accessibly.

About us:

We’re a leading community-based organisation dedicated to providing outstanding mental health support and clinical interventions across London. Our experienced clinically led teams are focused on directly addressing a range of mental health needs in our communities. We have decades of local community knowledge and record of empowering people to live the life they choose.

Benefits:

  • Hybrid-working if nature of role permits
  • Learning and development opportunities
  • Cycle to work scheme (interest free lone paid back 12 months period)
  • Employee Assistance Programme A 24-hour helpline from Health Assured to support you through any of life’s issues or problems
  • Free eye test
  • Flexible working
  • Interest free loan, those in financial hardship
