About Breadwinners

Breadwinners is a multi-award-winning social enterprise and charity that supports young people seeking asylum and refugees to have their first work experience in the UK, selling organic baked goods. Since 2016, we have steadily grown, and we are looking for our first Senior Fundraising Manager to help us take the next step in our growth journey. Breadwinner's unique model provides work, training and personal mentors, so that young refugees can start and progress in their careers, using our platform as a stepping stone. We achieve this goal through three consecutive programmes, using our award-winning bread stalls in markets across London and Brighton and wholesale for socially-minded cafes and restaurants.

Over the last 7 years, we have made a significant impact in supporting over 744+ programme participants, with an impressive 93% reporting notable improvements in their overall well-being, 76% of our Breadwinners programme participants progress into work, further education or volunteering, and all this while minimising our Carbon Footprint by 20.5% through the sale of organic goods. This year, we are planning to double our impact with young refugees, with recently secured funding, new markets, and a focus on our wholesale model.

1. Risers programme: A two-month early intervention programme designed to provide structured work experience, training, and mentorship to newly arrived young people seeking asylum through our 18 stalls.

2. Breadwinners programme: The follow-up programme for refugees with the right to work, which involves working as a market stall manager for six months and earning the UK living wage.

3. Proofers programme: A progression programme that entails working remotely as part-time online sales representatives for six months, managing our wholesale delivery model.

We’re looking for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young refugees and people seeking asylum. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of strategic thinking, hands-on fundraising experience, excellent communication skills and a strong sense of purpose. You will be working directly with the Managing Director, forming a team with a part-time Fundraising Manager, in direct contact with our passionate Core team, Board of Trustees and volunteers to secure grant funding, and develop our corporate and major donors streams. You will help to drive the growth of Breadwinners and enable the team to deliver a bigger positive impact for young refugees new to the UK.

Responsibilities

Fundraising from Trusts and Foundations

• Identify and research new funding opportunities to build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects.

• Write and develop compelling funding proposals for both new and existing trust and foundation partners.

• Lead on securing six-figure grants for the forthcoming year, working closely with a part-time Fundraising Manager and the Managing Director.

• Collaborate with the Programmes team to create engaging donor reports and impactful communications that reflect the voices of young refugees and our wider community.

• Prepare clear, strategic briefings for senior colleagues ahead of meetings with funders and key stakeholders.

• Produce detailed and accurate impact and financial reports for the Board and funders, ensuring transparency and accountability.

• Understand trends in the fundraising landscape and flag both opportunities and risks. 

• Use Salesforce to manage the fundraising pipeline.

Developing the Corporate and Major Donors Stream

• Help shape and grow Breadwinners’ Corporate and Major Donor fundraising streams.

• Independently manage a portfolio of corporate partners and major donors, ensuring exceptional stewardship, five-figure gifts and year-on-year growth..

• Proactively cultivate a pipeline of new corporate and high-net-worth individuals, using creative approaches to connect them with Breadwinners’ mission.

• Support the successful delivery of corporate partnerships, including employee engagement, staff fundraising, and volunteering initiatives.

• Build and maintain strong, meaningful relationships with external stakeholders, including funders, donors, and volunteers.

• Foster a culture of excellent relationship management and donor care across the organisation.

• Use Salesforce to manage relationships.

Finance

• Help the Managing Director keep a healthy level of restricted and unrestricted funds. 

• Help track progress against income targets and report on performance regularly to the fundraising team.

• Work with the Managing Director and Operations Teams to develop budgets for funding proposals, ensuring all organisational costs are covered.

• Contribute to the management of budgets and assist in preparing forecasts and annual plans.

• Flag risks or opportunities that may affect income generation for the Managing Director.

• Use Xero to manage Profit and Loss at the organisation and funding level.

 Team Support and Collaboration

• Direct line management of a part-time Fundraising Manager, providing guidance, support, and oversight to help achieve fundraising goals.

• Play a proactive role in facilitating a positive, collaborative and high-performing fundraising team culture.

• Participate in programmes, training, participant graduations and delivery to fully support and experience Breadwinners Theory of change and the impact it plays on young refugees. 

• Leverage the experiences of young programme participants sensitively to help steer the fundraising strategy. 

• Work with the Managing Director and Board of Trustees to ensure fundraising plans align with organisational needs and priorities.

• Carry out additional fundraising and administrative tasks as needed to help the MD and team.

· An honours degree level or equivalent in physiotherapy, Healthcare Professions Council (HCPC) registration and membership of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).

· Significant post-graduate experience across a range of physiotherapy specialities.

· A patient-centred and holistic approach with a passion for palliative care.

· Experience in palliative care or transferable skills suited to this specialist field.

· Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

About the role

We are the UK’s largest independent non-profit investigative newsroom. Our reporting is published by media partners around the world and holds power to account across five areas: environment, health, big tech, dirty money and local power.

This role will initially focus on supporting two of those teams as they deliver journalism that drives real-world change. But it may also support work on new and emerging issues such as the rise of mis- and disinformation and how that affects UK communities. The two teams are:

• Bureau Local: works with communities to uncover hidden stories in the UK. The Bureau Local team has reported on the exploitation of migrant workers, run a community-led project aimed at giving voice to the Trans+ community, and brought transparency to the family courts system through reporting and training.

• Enablers: investigates the lawyers, accountants, and financial structures that allow dirty money to flow through the UK. Their work has prompted major regulatory investigations and legal action, challenging how corruption is facilitated at home and abroad..

Our fundraising

The Bureau is almost entirely funded through grants and donations – without our supporters, we couldn’t do what we do. Over recent years, we’ve grown to a team of 35 people with an annual income of £2.8m, backed by a committed network of trusts, foundations, and individuals.

This is an exciting time to join our fundraising team as we build on those strong relationships and explore new ways to diversify our income.

Role and Responsibilities

• Work with project leads to take their ideas and build a strong case for support, translating complex issues into powerful, accessible narratives for funders.

• Manage relationships with existing funders, ensuring timely reporting, effective stewardship and continued support.

• Research and develop a pipeline of new prospects.

• Write compelling proposals and applications to secure new grants.

• Collaborate with our other Fundraising Manager, who leads on environment, global health and big tech, and occasionally help in those areas.

• Potentially support projects to diversify our income, such as helping to grow our major donor programme.

The Digital Officer will support the Communications team in creating innovative and engaging content and posting to social media channels to tell the story of ParalympicsGB and its athletes. The role will work closely with sports and athletes to facilitate filming opportunities and will assist in the delivery of branded content for commercial partners and key stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Content creation

Develop and oversee production of content in our brand identity including video, graphics and photography for ParalympicsGB social media channels (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube).

Plan, shoot, edit, and publish high-quality, platform-specific vertical videos tailored to maximise organic reach and engagement with ParalympicsGB’s priority audiences: Young People, Disabled Community and Potential Allies.

Will also be required to support wider ParalympicsGB staff teams with the production of content for internal use on occasion.

Social Media Management

Assist the Digital Producer with the management of ParalympicsGB social media channels and when needed helping to post and schedule content in our tone of voice.

Contribute to monitoring social media channels for real-time trends and content opportunities to shape the team's narrative and engage with priority audience groups.

Branded content

Work closely with the commercial team to align partner content with broader campaigns and ParalympicsGB’s content strategy.

Contributing to ParalympicsGB digital channels including copywriting, image and video editing including athlete biographies and sport information. Research of athlete personalities and interests to populate future content plans.

 CRM

Keeping an up-to-date record on the ParalympicsGB CRM system of athlete content appearances and all relevant information.

 Games-time

Working on location at the heart of the Paralympic Games as part of the communications team to support athletes, team members and media with the delivery of key communications objectives. Will support Content Producer with capturing engaging Games-time content for ParalympicsGB channels.

EXPERIENCE

· Minimum 2 years’ experience producing and publishing content either in-house or developing their own channels

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Essential  

· Experience shooting with cinema line cameras (Sony, Canon).

· Experience of shooting video through mobile devices

· Strong knowledge of video first social platforms and trending content.

About the role

Reporting in to the Head of Partnerships & Impact Funding, the role of Partnerships and Business Development Lead is responsible for strategic leadership in developing and nurturing institutional funding partnerships (Government, Multi-lateral, Trusts & Foundations, 
Corporates) at the global level, to create and manage compelling pipelines to mobilise income and resources for Christian Aid's programming worldwide. 

The post-holder will champion collaboration, innovation, and inclusion, ensuring Christian Aid’s engagement, profile, and business development with key Government, Multilateral, Foundation, and Corporate Partnerships deliver a step-change in income generation, impact, and influence, and will foster cross-functional collaboration across Partnership and Impact units while empowering others to lead change through co-creation.

Some of the main areas of responsibility for the role of Partnerships and Business Development Lead will include:

• Inspire and motivate a high-performing team of multiple units through donor specialist managers and programme design advisor to deliver strategic impact and income goals and targets.
• Develop long-term global income generation strategies aligned with Christian Aid’s values and goals.

The Senior Individual Giving and Legacy Officer is responsible for building deeper relationships with some of our most committed supporters.
