About the role

As the Data Protection and Compliance Officer, you will deliver the data protection and compliance agenda at Crisis, ensuring a risk-based approach in line with applicable laws including the Data Protection Act 2018, UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Privacy and E-Communications Regulation in respect of marketing compliance.

You’ll work right across the organisation, from supporting our client facing regional centres in effective information sharing to help end someone’s homelessness, to working with Crisis’ transformation programme to help improve the governance and safekeeping of corporate and personal records. It is a hugely varied and busy role where you can switch from interacting with members of the public, our clients on rights issues to advising on police disclosure requests.

This is an exciting time to join Crisis and to be part of the new Compliance, Risk and Governance Team, influencing the privacy and data protection agenda for 2025-26. You would be an integral part of this small, yet influential team supporting the organisation to meet its legal obligations, understand its regulation requirements, and foster best practice.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Extensive knowledge of UK Data Protection law including an understanding of marketing legislation (PECR)
• A pragmatic, risk-based approach to advising internal teams on compliance activities
• The ability to translate data protection law into everyday terms and actions
• An understanding of information security and its interdependency with data protection requirements
• The ability to prioritise and work effectively with various departments.
• A values-based approach to how data is utilised, ensuring that it is not only lawful but fair, meeting the reasonable expectations of the people whose data Crisis is entrusted to protect.

You may have experience in, data protection, information governance or legal services provision in the not-for-profit, private or public sector.

Our Volunteer Experience Team supports all administration activities relating to volunteering good practice throughout the SSAFA volunteer journey, with a specific focus on recruitment and retention of volunteers.

Job Purpose: The Senior Programme Development Officer is responsible for identifying and securing funding and managing relationships with Peace Direct’s funders

Reporting to: Programme Development Manager

Location: The position will be based at Peace Direct’s office in London.

The Role

Working within our International Partnerships, Programmes and Research (IPPR) team, the Senior Programme Development Officer will secure income for Peace Direct through research, development and management of relationships with new and existing funders. The post holder will proactively identify new funders, write proposals and reports and steward relationships to secure and maintain the funding necessary for Peace Direct to achieve its organisational goals. This includes programmatic, research, advocacy and strategic funding, working with restricted and unrestricted grants from institutional and trust and foundation funders ranging from £1,000 to £1m+. In collaboration with others, the post holder will also accompany advise and support local partners to diversify their funding.

The role is for someone with an enthusiasm for working with funders, with a strong track record of successfully securing grants from trusts, foundations and/or institutional donors. You will have strong writing skills, exceptional attention to detail and be capable of working effectively and efficiently to tight deadlines. A strong affinity with peacebuilding and an interest in challenging the way the international cooperation and peacebuilding sectors works would be beneficial, as would language skills in French, Spanish and/or Arabic.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced tutors with a love of learning to help bright students overcome barriers to academic achievement. Tutorials are delivered online to groups of up to 4 students via our bespoke online learning platform.

Tutorials generally take place between the hours of 3pm and 8pm on weekday evenings, with flexibility around the schedules of our tutors and students.

This is an opportunity to join the Gaia Centre as a Deputy Service Manager. 

The Deputy Service Manager will manage a team and carry a very small caseload of complex cases when necessary. The post will work closely with victims and survivors of different strands of strands of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), including domestic abuse and violence (physical, sexual, emotional,  psychological, economic or tech abuse)​​, Sexual Violence (Rape and sexual assault​)​, Stalking and harassment ​, Sexual exploitation ​​(including women working in sex industry and Child Sexual Exploitation)​​, female genital mutilation (FGM)​/cutting , forced marriage​​, So-called ‘honour’-based abuse, provide early identification and offer appropriate care pathways for survivors of all genders, aged 16 years and over and their children, living, working or/and studying in Lambeth at times from the point of crisis. 

The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the Multiagency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors. Additionally, you will be working with survivors and agencies across Lambeth so will require significant travelling. 

The post holder will empower survivors by providing them with emotional and practical support, thus enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options. The post holder will inform survivors of the full range of civil, criminal and practical options that might increase their safety. 

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

What will I be doing?

Role Summary 

Our current Director of Finance & Operations will be going on maternity leave in mid-October 2025 and we are looking for an experienced and energetic interim Director of Finance & Operations who will be able to hit the ground running in overseeing all of our finance, HR and operations, which underpin our core mission and work to support babies, families and health professionals across the neonatal community.

The successful candidate will lead all aspects of Bliss’ financial management, including our strategic approach to financial and business planning as well as supporting effective delivery of our day-to-day financial systems and processes. They will have overall responsibility for Bliss’ core organisational support functions of HR, IT, and facilities, and will also contribute to the daily running and future direction of the charity as a member of the Senior Management Team.
