Job description
Our client is looking to recruit a Care Assistant to work day shifts at their beautiful home in Winchester. The role would require you to work 36 hours per week on a rota basis, including alternate weekends.

Care Assistant Responsibilities:

• Providing personal care to clients that is person centred and respects individual choices
• Providing additional care and support as required when a client is unwell or towards end of life
• Acting as a Keyworker to several clients
• Using personal knowledge and experience of working with those individuals to support the nurses in writing and reviewing care plans
• Documenting care given and record any changes or abnormalities in the daily notes in addition to informing the person in charge of the shift
• Providing support and advice to resident’s family and friends, keeping them informed at an appropriate level with due regard to the constraints of confidentiality
• Working with the Activities Team to develop group and 1:1 activities that will be engaging and of interest to the residents
• Liaising with other agencies as required in the interests of the resident, for example GP, Social Services, Occupational Therapist, etc.

Care Assistant Requirements:

Our client prides themselves on providing the best possible care for their residents and their ability to make them feel like family within a loving home. They need you to be like minded in this approach, valuing the small things which are important to each of their residents.

They’d love you to be NVQ/QCF 2 qualified in Health & Social Care, but that is not a deal breaker. Ideally you will have had some care experience, but this is not essential, as they provide lots of training. The key to them is that you share their values. In addition, you need to possess good communication skills, be a team player, are reliable and committed and have a natural affinity to older people.

About Our client:

They currently have 9 care homes across the South of England, all offering a person-centred approach to the residents they care for. In addition, our client’s clubs are friendship and wellbeing clubs providing opportunities for older people to enjoy social interaction. They have over 90 clubs throughout Hampshire and Dorset.

So, if you believe in treating people as individuals and are passionate about providing care with dignity and respect and want to join a team that is headed up by a committed and passionate manager, then they would love to hear from you!

They will be reviewing applications as they receive them. Our client reserves the right to close the vacancy if sufficient applications have been received.
