We are the UK’s leading charity for all those affected by endometriosis, determined to ensure that everyone gets prompt diagnosis and the best treatment and support. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Executive Assistant to join our team at Endometriosis UK and help us make a real difference for the 1.5 million in the UK with the disease. This is a crucial role for our small but growing charity, supporting the CEO to ensure the smooth running of the organisation. You’ll be a key point of contact, proactively managing all aspects of EA support to the CEO to enable them to maximise their performance and delivery, as well as coordinating our governance administrative systems and processes. The role will be ideal for a highly organised, proactive, and experienced Executive Assistant used to working on their own initiative and comfortable with multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. You will be a born organiser, with superb judgment, a diplomatic approach, solution focused and with excellent problem-solving skills. You will have the ability to think two steps ahead, guided by our strategic and operational priorities, and the confidence to steer senior managers accordingly. You will bring a meticulous attention to detail and exemplary skills in prioritisation, time management and task completion. Advanced skills in MS Office are essential. Your written and verbal communication skills will be first-rate, with stakeholders at all levels. You will be comfortable handling confidential material with the utmost discretion. You will have proven experience supporting senior executives and Boards, ideally in the charity or non-profit sector. The EA will also play a proactive role in improving organisational processes and supporting priority areas as needed.

This will be a busy, varied and important role working closely with the CEO to make sure their diary supports their strategic priorities. Key responsibilities include managing, triaging and responding to emails, complex diary management to ensure effective use of their time, providing briefing papers and ensuring the CEO is well prepared for meetings, and ensuring we’ve efficient governance and office processes. You will need to have the ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and sensitivity, with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. You will act as that indispensable individual for the CEO, ultimately responsible for proactively ensuring their work life runs effectively and efficiently. The key focus of the role is to ensure the CEO is able to maximise their impact and influence in the charity, plus ensuring the smooth operation of board and committee functions,

As EA to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), this role has a primary focus in providing comprehensive administrative support to the CMO, in collaboration with the wider Directors’ office team and the CMO’s direct reports.

They will be responsible for delivery of smart and strategic diary management for the CMO and handling administrative tasks on the CMO’s behalf. This will be done in close collaboration with the key contacts (internal and external), including, where appropriate, acting as central point for preparation of related papers, meeting scheduling; comprehensive minute-taking is also required.

The successful candidate will have the following: 

• Considerable experience in an EA / PA or senior-level equivalent administrative capacity within an Executive environment (business or charity sector)

• Experience in formal minuting and report drafting

• Proven experience in safeguarding sensitive and confidential information accordingly, with a core understanding of prioritisation

• Excellent communication (in all mediums), interpersonal, and organisational skills, including building and maintaining key relationships in a senior space

• Exceptional administrative and organisational skills, with a focus on complex and strategic diary management

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Fundraising Officer to join the fundraising team at the Batten Disease Family Association CIO (BDFA).

The BDFA, founded in 1998 is the only patient organisation in the UK for families affected by Batten disease, a rare and terminal neurodegenerative condition that affects children and young adults. The BDFA offers informed guidance and support to families and the professionals who work with them, as well as actively raising awareness, and promoting research into the management of Batten disease to improve patient care pathways and ultimately find a cure.

This is an exciting time to join the charity, which has grown to offer additional support services for families affected by Batten disease and to implementing a long-term strategy to develop its advocacy, education and research capabilities. We’re looking for an individual who has some experience in fundraising, particularly leading on all aspects of community fundraising, developing and nurturing relationships with volunteer fundraising groups and individual supporters. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of our CEO to develop community fundraising maximising the funds raised by volunteer fundraisers and developing supporter engagement. The successful candidate will also work alongside our Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Officer to support our Trusts and Foundations income generation.

The Ideal Candidate for this role will have:

- Experience in all aspects of community fundraising including events, assisting fundraisers to develop imaginative fundraising ideas and inspiring new supporters to raise funds whilst maintaining relationships with existing supporters

- Experience in building and sustaining long-term relationships with fundraising groups and individual supporters

- Experience in managing effective and creative fundraising communications on social media and the website

- Ability to contribute to the overall Trusts and Foundations income stream, including proactively researching and identifying grant funding opportunities

BACKGROUND

Ashiana is a ‘by and for’ women led BME VAWG service with 30 years’ experience in delivering a holistic range of specialist services to South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern women affected by Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG).

OUR SERVICES

Ashiana runs three refuges with a total of 29 bedspaces; specifically for women aged 16-35 fleeing forced marriage. This multi award winning project is the only service of its kind in the UK and is highly innovative in terms of addressing an area of significant need not met in other refuge provision. Within these refuges we designate a number of bedspaces for women with no recourse to public funds. We offer an advice and support service to women and girls who are experiencing VAWG, enabling them to make informed decisions and exit violent relationships. We provide a legal service supporting women with no recourse to public funds to help resolve their immigration status.

Counselling is offered for women and girls affected by VAWG. The counselling service works from an integrative stance, with the focus of providing a holistic service whereby we also work alongside other services and provide specialist domestic violence group work. The emphasis of therapeutic work with our clients is from a trauma informed model.

We also deliver an education programme for young people in secondary schools in East London aimed at preventing domestic violence and enabling young people experiencing domestic violence to access appropriate services. The prevention service includes delivering a whole school approach in schools to young people as well as group work to women and girls across North East London boroughs as well as community engagement activities and delivery. We deliver a range of awareness raising workshops for young people in the community and training on domestic violence for professionals in the voluntary and statutory sector.

They may be care experienced, have mental health challenges, be neurodivergent or be at risk of exploitation or offending.

Caudwell Youth is a dynamic new charity which has just celebrated its third birthday.

What we do 

Caudwell Youth shapes young people’s futures by providing person-centred support to at risk 11 to 24-year-olds through volunteer-led mentoring for up to 18-months, alongside a targeted intervention programme.

Our vision is to help every young person at-risk in the UK. We give young people the time, trust and support they need to shape a positive future, no matter their starting point. 

Our mentoring service is designed to ensure every young person feels safe, heard and supported. Each young person gains a trusted adult (a trained volunteer) who meets with them once a week to support them as they take steps towards a more positive future.

We have a compelling fundraising proposition. We were founded by billionaire philanthropist John Caudwell, who has pledged to match all donations and fundraising at 33%.

Our mentoring service is delivering exceptional outcomes for young people, and we are ambitious for the future.

We are looking for an experienced grants, trusts and foundations fundraiser who can hit the ground running, both in solidifying and owning our valuable relationships with existing grant and trust fundrers and in exploring new opportunities.

You will also lead on the evaluation of our service impact across the organisation, gathering, analysing and presenting data to illustrate the valuable outcomes our services have for at-risk young people.

About the role

Due to growth and investment in the team, 3 exciting opportunities have arisen to join a lively, dynamic and driven fundraising events team. Over the last decade, Breast Cancer Now has built up a strong events function, with community fundraising and events currently accounting for nearly a quarter of the charity’s overall voluntary income.

We’re now looking for 3 events assistants to play a key role within the team. Supporting the delivery of our varied portfolio of challenge events, currently comprising of walking, running, cycling, swimming and trekking challenges. You’ll engage hundreds of fundraisers, acting as a first point of contact and an ambassador for the organisation to excite and retain our supporters. You’ll also have the opportunity to lead on your own project.

These roles play a vital part in the events team and are perfect for someone getting started in their fundraising career.

About you

We’re looking for 3 individuals with excellent attention to detail and a passion for charity fundraising. An understanding of and experience with administrative tasks such as data entry and working in a fast-paced environment is desirable.

You’ll be a first point of contact with hundreds of our supporters, many of whom will be in touch via email, phone or social media, so an understanding of using these channels and delivering customer service, particularly in the charity sector, is preferable. You should also have a demonstrable ability to work to deadlines and have experience working as part of a team.

Primary location of role and hybrid working

This role is primarily based in our London office. Our hybrid working model allows you to work up to 3 days per week at home.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team to provide administrative and event delivery support across all event and fundraising activities. This will include a wide range of admin and support tasks pre-event, onsite and post-event for the BOA’s flagship event, BOA Annual Congress, and other educational, social and fundraising events, both face to face and virtual, delivered by the team. In addition, the postholder will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive administration systems across the events and fundraising team, corresponding with members, Stakeholders, delegates, fundraisers etc, using the CRM database, updating event and fundraising content on the BOA website, and supporting content creation for social media.

If you are a proactive individual with drive and enthusiasm looking for a new challenge, have an interest in events and fundraising and would be keen to work for a membership organisation involved in supporting trauma and orthopaedic surgeons and care for orthopaedic patients we would love to hear from you.

About you

• Able to establish good relationships with people at varying levels of seniority, including clinicians, expert advisors from the Council and subcommittees, and external stakeholders and organisations.
• Ready to get stuck in and capable of undertaking multiple tasks or projects at any one time
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to deal with people diplomatically and appropriately
• Comfortable with handling multiple issues and flexibility to adapt if priorities change or opportunities emerge at short notice.
• Proactive and keen to make a difference while appreciating the importance of sound project management and an eye for detail
• Good organisational skills and time management with ability to prioritise and independently work to deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and ability to achieve high standards of work with little supervision.
• Confident learning and using IT and online systems, including CRMs
